Back from my second trip. We had a wedding in Regina, and we made a family trip of it. Only I came home to a sick puppy....poor fella.

I am now officially not going anywhere until Christmas. Time to do some crafts rather than sit in airports. I have some nutcracker Dazzles that are burning a hole in my pocket, a new trimmer to get to know and a quilt to finish.

Diane, what is on your agenda for this week?

Nancy, what are the top sellers right now?

I'm patiently waiting to hear what Deb made in Salt Lake.

Welcome back, Robin.
Poor Puppy! Hope he feels better.
I have been working on quilts but methinks it's time to start cranking out the Xmas cards.
I have a side trip to Rocky planned for tomorrow- otherwise it's all TV and sewing- crazy, isn't it?

Glad you're back, Robin- with everyone being away, I felt I was just chatting with myself...

Welcome home Robin. Sorry your dog is sick, hopefully nothing serious.
Hi Diane!
Our horses had their hooves trimmed today, they've been out in the field showing off their
paces.

Hey, Loretta. I didn't know you had horses! I was out in Bighorn yesterday and stopped by the quilt store in Rocky. Don't know why I can't go by without stopping to buy stuff.

Good morning everyone Loretta, I just put a calendar on my blog--with horses, check it out, I love it.

Diane, we stop because they 'just might' have something new in or something we might have missed--heaven forbid

Robin, I don't know what top sellers might be, if anyone has any ideas--I'm all ears.
It changes all the time. Remember that one year I sold over 30 of the boxes that flopped open when the lid was removed--they were hot that particular year!
I'm guessing maybe things that people may actually use, as opposed to a card that is.
But possibly make a card to match the project. Although, theme cards sell well usually--I had one lady come and buy all the firemen cards/gifties that I had, they are hard to find she said.
I just downloaded the bookmark calendars on Splitcoast--from the downloads The craft fairs like a donation and I might bundle half dozen of those this year.
Of course, I'm a book lover, so I've made a few books. I want to make about 6 of the little tea books I had on my blog--with the bind-it-all edge.
i think the real way to make money is hold classes. It just takes a bit of time to get things together--but pays off in the end.

Anyway, have a great day everyone
I've got sourdough bread rising and I'm off to try and finish yet another book today--this one uses book fronts from 7 Gypsies, approx 3 x 5. It will be on my blog by Friday....now, I can't procrastinate!

Our horses are miniatures, little horses with big horse attitude!
I must go check out the quilt store in Rocky, I never go that way but I just might one day. Did you find anything irresistable?
Nancy, your calendar is beautiful, I'm pretty sure that's how Hoss and Tracker see themselves.

Yeah, found some baby fabric since everyone in my life seems to be popping babies (yes, my friends started late)..... she has lots of civil war prints, I think but also has some other cool patterns. Best of all, there is the clearance section

Nancy, now did the sourdough turn out?

Sourdough didn't turn out--I tried twice, what a waste The first batch I made when I started it, was lovely. So, I'm thinking of tossing the starter and trying a new batch.

Godd morning ladies!

Another week has gone by and all I did was a small patch of cross-stitch. I didn't even bake muffins. I think i might get thrown from the crafty-club.

Brody has recovered nicely. He is back to his usual gomer self.

Not doing much this weekend, I am just looking for some relaxation. I will probably just puts and pick away at whatever. I do want to decorate for Halloween first thing so we can enjoy it for a few days.

Bethy-i hear you on little horse attitudes. A friend had some and they are amazing.

Diane-what did you get in Rocky?

Nancy-i need to make some starter myself. We want to make some biscuits in a Dutch Oven and see how they turn out.

Better run. I get to go to work today.

I spent the day at Our Best to You craft fair with my friend Lisa. Wow that was amazing! Two huge rooms full. I can't imagine how much time people devote to it or how they come up with all those ideas.

Thanks for the recipe.Nancy.....I love sourdough.

I was thinking of going to the craft how, but I like every second year since then it seems to change. I should go reconnoiter for Nancy though!

Today is house work, supper with kids and a movie with Rick. All good and low stress.

I slept in today, very unlike me. So i should get a wiggle on.

Robin, if you come down to Calgary, I'll *show* you what I got.

Just finished a bout of papercrafting for a swap I was in. Altered house forms. Loretta, did you end up doing them? You were quiet about them. I was using E6000 to glue some metal pieces and was hyper that night. Read the instructions on the tube- use in ventilated area and do not misuse. I guess I was inadvertently sniffing glue

Really wild hats from polar fleece were selling like crazy. Hip bands for people whose shirts don't meet their jeans were going pretty quick. The biggest seller I saw was a fellow with handmade wooden games. People were tossing money at him. The personalized christmas ornament booth had a line up around the corner. Architectural alphabet photos and accompanying frames had lineups too.
Diane I didn't do them. I still want to try a few but I have to finish my calendars for Joyce first.

Hi ladies - I'm home! SLC was wonderful as always! We had an unbelievable Vintaj jewelery making class. So of course, I had to buy, buy, buy......

We did 4 albums - a Doodlebug one, a Bazzill one, a letterpress one, and a vinyl one. We did a couple classes with quite different cards -- and one class that we did 4 different projects (a notepad cover, one for holding a CD with pockets for popcorn and munchies for a "theatre treat" gift) We had a great time.

AZ was +35ish. I really wanted to stay. I bought minkie fabric to make a quilt for Pyper for Christmas. It is so cute --it has an appliqued elephant on it. So I guess I'm going to get back into quilting too. It's time.

Got a nail appt. at 10, so gotta run so will pop in later.

Welcome back Deb, sounds like a great time

Loretta, thanks, the polar fleece hats I made one year went well and so easy--cut a strip of fabric, hem one end, gather the top and snip to make a fringey top. What are hip bands? Sounds like a good idea for keeping the midriff warm!

Diane, check out this site, there is a quilt you might like to try T's Daily Treasures

Hi Nancy, The hats had long tails you could wrap around your neck. Some had fringed hair and some were like Jughead's crown. Hip bands are reversible bands that you wear under your shirt and over your pants. They are about 8-9" wide and the idea is to keep your rear from showing that it is hanging out of your pants if you are wearing low rise jeans. Minkie stuff was pretty popular as well.
Hi Deb, sounds like you had fun!

Thanks Loretta I looked up the minky fabric and watched a video--sounds messy but interesting.
Also looked up hip bands and found a nice site here: Little Birdie Secrets: "hip" cover up for girls
They look really cute and easy to sew

Thanks for the linky, Nancy! I really enjoyed the camel quilt.

Welcome back, Deb.

I like the idea of a bellyband- was at feldenkrais classs yesterday and my too short shirts kept sliding up when was stretching my hand over my head and exposing my belly and distracting me. Happy humpday, everyone.

our ground is pure white. Why did I come home from Arizona? Oh right, to get ready to go again. Our Europe trip has creeped up on me so fast. We leave next Saturday. Woohoo.

Thank you Denise, I got your swap in my mail. I will get to use my new Martha Stewart scoring board to make an envelope. I decided that will be one way to use up so much of my paper - is by making envelopes as well as cards.

Off to Red Deer today (yuck) to pick up my Euro.

I have to be very careful as I reinjured my knee on Tuesday afternoon. Just walking down my hall and I heard a loud "snap". I ended up in Emerg, 5 x-rays later nothing is broken -- but my knee is very swollen and black-and-blue, and very sore, so there is bleeding somewhere. It does feel some better today so hopefully it'll be okay by next weekend before I leave.

We are going to the candlelight vigil tonight for Byron Greff (the young Canadian soldier who was killed in Afghanistan last week). The family are close friends of ours and we are heartbroken over this.

Phew.-a busy time lately, glad to see everyone seems to be the same.

Looks like winter has arrived. I can usually tell when I want to cross-stitch.

I had a great time on the weekend visiting with Diane and company. I even got some things done.

Deb. Lunch when you get back from across the pond?

Robin, I see you are determined to get me to buy more stuff.... I am looking at the double ribbon punch, you evil woman. First, I need to make sure I don't already have it since I have some EK Success punches prior to them making punches for SU.

Happy Hump day, everyone.

Speaking of buying stuff, Diane my dear, I have your things from Prairie Points. I've actually had it for a week already but with my Aunts funeral and ensuing family stuff I haven't had much time to think. Would you like me to mail it to you?

just added a few things to my gallery, I think the last entry said July 2010.

Been a very busy few years around here, building and moving into a new house, and then this summer doing all of the leveling and bringing all of the dirt back in.

Feels so good to be crafting again

Loretta, condolences on the death of your aunt.
As for my schtuff, just hang on to it. By the time you mail it, it will cost waay too much. I will collect them from you sometime in December- I am planning to be up in Rocky for a couple of days.I could swing a detour by your place, I think.

Conni, must be nice to have all that space to spread out with crafting. Enjoy it whilst you can.

We just built a nice new big house, but every time the craft room came up in the planning stages hubby would say we are not making it bigger, you can share the office. Of course when it came time to move in, the office seemed to shrink. So being the selfless person I am, once again I am in the windowless room the the basement. I am sharing the storage room, doesn't even have flooring, lol. So like I said he was gone for 3 days, I made many trips up the 3 flights of stairs, with all of my tools, and just as many to take it all down and put it away. On the upside, my jeans are much looser today

I have already told him, when our oldest moves out, and the one living upstairs, moves downstairs, I get his room.

Hey Conni, good to see you back sounds like life is still busy on the farm!

Loretta sorry to hear of your Aunt passing. Take care.

I'm wearing my fingers to the bone getting ready for my craft fair this weekend, but sure is fun....now, hoping things sell

Have a nice long weekend all you hard working girls! I think it's going to be the warmest year for the parade tomorrow. Usually it's snowing and cold!

Tomorrow the last couple of items go into the suitcase, then I think I'm done. And a good thing too, cause I'm tired!

Sorry to hear of your Aunt, Loretta. ((hugs)) to you.

I cut out a baby quilt -- that's right -- a quilt. Hopefully tomorrow I will start to sew again, after about 3 1/2 years rest. It's an appliqued elephant done in all minkie. What a horrid mess to work with. But it will be worth it when it's done. I'll give it to Pyper Rose for Christmas. She has grown so much -- already 12 pounds. She is a darling. And the little boys are so good with her.

Have a good Remembrance Day tomorrow. I might pop on, but maybe not.

Let me practice my French -- Bonjour, Vino, that's probably all I need to know anyway.

Good morning everyone - it is the day to remember, I know I will be.....

We have a sick dog again - though it is wonderful to take your dog to doggie day care and to the dog park, they do get sick more often. So now he has a cold and I am making him chicken soup and feeding him honey.

We are off to 'Stomp' tonight with DS and his GF and some friends. Supper out first, then the show - I am looking forward to it.

Diane - I think that ribbon punch is great. Always looking for ways to embellish that don't add bulk.

Deb - remember 'Merci' - that way they will bring you another 'Vino'.

Another beautiful morning has arrived. Maybe I need a walk to watch the sun arrive.....

Enjoy the day ladies!
