Robin, you know we have the other group at Yahoo just for us, by invitation only! Sounds like you had an interesting long weekend!

Been having computer probs but hopefully have got most of it sorted. Not all my fault although I did change a few settings. Basically I really need a new updated laptop/notepad and am hoping DH will shell out for one for my birthday! Mind you, I may well have to go buy it myself as it doesn't look as though he'll be back for a week or two more. However after all the years, it doesn't really bother me and these days, one birthday is much like another!

Fabulous weather here again, still a little hot for me but at least the sun is shining and we need to make the most of it.

After my few chores, am going back to working on my swaps which I am quite enjoying. Probably going out to lunch with a friend, hopefully she'll get back to me with a yea or nay soon! Otherwise it'll have to be tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi everyone. Its just me and my youngest here this week. Kevin is at the office, and my oldest is at band camp. So, we are spending the day picking peas, sewing and watching movies! What a great day!
Ruth, how did DGS's surgery go? I hope all is well.
I am off to a family reunion on Saturday, and its pot luck. We wondered about taking taber corn, but that wont work, and I didnt make it into the farmers market... so, will have to come up with a new idea. I am going to make a pie of some sort... or maybe two, and it might have to be a veggie tray... they are providing meat and potatoes, so its just the extras we all need to bring.
I hope you are all enjoying the weather.
Hug the ones you love.

Hi Ladies. Well, we are sure getting some warm weather now gorgeous!

Sorry to tell you Diane, I went ahead and got some copics! It just looked like so much fun and I am loving them. I didn't go whole hog, but have enough to keep me busy colouring! I bought a box of the round ones, 3 more greys and 3 spicas.

Hope you are all having a great week. I have less than a month before leaving for Scotland!

Nooooo, Nancy, you succumbed.
I am sure that you will be more prudent and actually use the copics. You'll have to post some of your work

I have yet to crack into my spellbinders so until I made a dent and start using my stash, no new things for me.

Oh, Denise, I have a lovely spanish version of a Russian Potato salad (ensaladilla rusa). I tried it in Spain and really enjoyed it. Potatoes, hardboiled eggs, peas and carrots (tinned or fresh- if going fresh, briefly blanch them in hot water), tuna and mayo. Roasted red peppers as well.

MMM Diane, that sounds wonderful!!!

Nancy, I have copics. I love them... I have been taking classes at a local store, but am on a self imposed shopping hiatus. The flood really put a dent in my Mad money!!

Good morning, girls!

A little overcast here but it's supposed to be nice later and for the next 7 days!

Denise, DGS is doing fine and a much happier boy by all accounts now he can hear properly again! really enjoying the holidays but they are having to find things to do where there is no temptation to go swimming for at least 6 weeks. That's a bit hard when you live close to the seaside and also when you have a membership of a club where the swimming pool is the main attraction!!

Nancy, so you got some copics then! Good for you, you did always do wonderful colouring anyway with the other mediums you used. I found 2 copics(my whole stash!) that I got from Paperworks eons ago and had intended every month to get more!! Like Diane right now I need to get to use the stash of unopened stuff I have lying around befoe I invest in copics.

Sent off one swap yesterday and realised after mailing I hadn't taken any photos of said cards. Need to try to remember to do that befoe I mail things off or otherwise make that one extra to keep in my stash here. They weren't spectacular or anything, in fact I can't remember what I did for the 2nd set! Felt a bit like a newby doing swaps again.

My new galsses have come so I'm off to get them soon. Maybe my present ones can go to be repaired before they totally fall apart then I can have spare pair. Actually will probably get a 2nd pair with this latest prescription when I can find another frame that I like and can get a good deal. TTYL

Good morning ladies - I see we are being a very sensible bunch here - no new goodies until the last purchase is used - since I got an order of ribbon awhile back and haven't used any of it, does that count? I was staring at a bottle of dew drops the other day and was really wondering how many cards I would have to make to use them all, and why I thought I needed so many. Probably thinking about swap supplies.

I am all by my lonesome this weekend, and had dreams of doing some great things outside, and woke up to miserable weather. Blowing and cold, but atleast the rain is holding off for now. I might just have to resign myself to a day indoors and keeping my eye out for nicer weather. Either that or I just bundle up and go and say to heck with it.

Maybe I could play with my copics - Gayle gave me a couple of books awhile back to look at - today might be the day.

DS has made it back from houseboating, and loaded up the Harley again to head east with a chum. They are going to go as far as they can go before they have to turn around. The minimum is Niagra Falls, the goal would be PEI. I worry, but know that it is out of my hands, so I am at peace with it.

DD is going to Calgary to meet the BF's family today. I wish her luck with that. Not an easy one as she is attending the BF's brother's engagement party. Better her than me I say...but then I've been scarred for life with my introduction to DH's family. He has 14 Aunts and Uncles, each with atleast 3 kids.....imagine walking into THAT crowd. A lowly protestant into the room of fertile catholics. Aunt Gabe almost ate me for lunch. (shudder)

DH is making me mad and better stay away for awhile yet. I have been trying to book another trip south for over a year now, and everytime I come up with a plan he poo poos something about it, then says to do what I want because he wants to do it for me. I'm going to have to hurt him soon, or give up on the thing altogether....unless one of you want to go to Jamaica with me in February?

Deb - I know you will surface sometime - I hope your trip to Arizona went well, and you and Dana are busy shopping the days away.

Denise - It is good to hear that the basement is almost done. Then you can get back to some kind of normal. What grades are the girls going into this year?

Nancy - Scotland? Nice! How long are you going for, and who are you going with?

Ruth - When are you heading back to England? Let me know if you are hosting any swaps or if you find a good one, I might have to join in.

Diane - Did you look into the Shop Hop?

Well ladies - thanks for the visit. I think I will put on a set of scrubs and go get crafty for a bit.

Hugs.....

Good morning Robin, and all!
I was grinning at your post, thinking how nice it was that even though your kids are big, things dont change as a mom... or maybe its not so nice... the worry never ends does it???
Sami is in to grade 9 this year, and Melissa goes to the middle school in Grade 5! They are both excellent students, so usually the school year is enjoyable!
I was thinking the same as Robin about the swaps Ruth... it might give me a reason to make something... its been awhile.
I have a card making retreat to go to in September. So I am searching for Christmas card ideas already. I love to have them done early.
Well, the cinnamon buns are almost done. Have a wonderful day, blustery as it is here today....

Hug the ones you love.

Good morning I've got kind of a late start with my day, but got my copics out to play with.
Robin, I'm leaving Vancouver Sept. 3rd and arrive back on Sept. 22nd. My cousin and I have a Trafalgar tour booked for 2 weeks then we have few extra days to ourselves.

I haven't been in a swap for ages. I really didn't do much stamping etc. last year, but oh my, 2011 has been one for catching up. And now I've gone and bought new clothes to go on my trip---you'd think money grew on trees! However, my senses are coming back

I don't think we ever stop worrying Robin just gotta lovem'. My oldest son and family were on their way back to Chetwynd last Tuesday-pulling a trailer, after holidays-and hit a moose. All were fine, damage down the side of the truck and one corner of the trailer. Very, very lucky, there were two moose--missed the other one! He had turned the windshield washers on because of all the bugs and my Grandson said 'Moose!' I'm so thankful they were ok.

We are finally getting some lovely weather up here, always a few clouds, but so nice and warm!

Have a great day Ladies

Evening folks !

Pleased to see more of us are back onboard

We had our monthly crop today - did I tell you that I'm now running my own crop ? - anyway, it was a little quieter than normal because a lot of people are on holiday, so I managed to get all the gift bags made ready for my Yuletide Summer one-day retreat next Saturday. I also managed to get some beautiful tags made for the bags as well, and I just know that the whole room will look fabby on the day with all the matching gift bags and boxes when everyone arrives ! Can you tell that I'm getting excited !

It is the first all-day retreat that I've organised, and I've planned four separate classes. One home decor project, one give-able gift project, a scrapbooking brag book, and a set of four cards. There should be lots of products left for everyone to take home and use - so does it sound ok ?? I'll post the projects after next Saturday's event so that you can all see. I even have four other demos coming to the event - I'm terrified !!!

Well, onto 'homey' things ... Stewarts arthritis is paining him at the moment. He wakes up and can barely move. His arm is swollen and sore, and he can barely move his neck. Once he's up and about, he's better - but there's definitely a deterioration. The wait for the specialist is now 3 months, and he's already behind 2 appointments due to the specialists' workload I must admit, I can truly sympathise with him, but the misery surrounding him doesn't !

Aaron is still courting - her name is Courtney ... and she supports Manchester United. I'm devastated ... what Liverpool supporter goes out with a Man United supporter ?? Oh well, I suppose things could be worse .......... now sure how yet tho !!!!! ha ha ha !

I'm enjoying the holidays, despite being manically busy !

Hope everyone is ok, and enjoying the good weather - I can't believe that we had thunder and lightening here today !

Have a fabby weekend everyone xxxxxxxxxx

Good morning ladies - a cold morning, but after last night's wicked storm, it is nice that it is atleast peaceful out there if not all sunshine. I am afriad to go out and check the garden. I am sure it is flattened yet again.

Denise - Yes - worrying about kids never goes away. It is how you handle it that changes. I used to jump in and fix things or try to control the situation, but have realized over the years that that makes it worse, not better. The only thing I can control is how I deal with the situation (if it ever occurs that is).

Nancy - Are you just going to Scotland? My mother has done Trafalger tours for a number of her trips and really enjoys them. If I ever decide to do a tour, they are who I would pick too. New clothes sounds like a good idea for ANY trip, just think you can wear them after so no loss.....just keep shopping!

Carole - Don't be nervous - you know what you are doing my dear. The SU business was made for people like you, so go ahead and run with it! Pictures would be nice so we can see what you did.

Quiet day again today. I don't have much planned other than finishing laundry and and walk with Brody. We missed our walk yesterday because of the changeable weather - never did jump at the right chance to get out when it was good. Had a 2 hour nap though so that was nice. I hate to admit I am so boring but what can ya do.... LOL

Enjoy your day ladies, I know I will enjoy mine!

Good morning, ladies, although apart from Nancy, it's afternoon/evening where you all are!

Got a later than normal start today as although initially I was up at 5.15, I went back to bed because I was so tired! Now I feel like cr**! The neightbours (not the ones with THE dogs) had a party last night and the youngsters there were still up and around at 4a.m. It wasn't so loud but just loud enough to stop me sleeping too well but at least the music stopped at 1.30a.m. Was a big family party so I won't complain!

It's a gorgeous day here, no real cloud this morning like the last several days so I've a feeling it may be HOT later. Saw all the awful weather in Calgary on the news last night! My was that a storm or what all that flooding! Hope the better weather drifts across from here now.

Nancy, so the trip to Scotland is all planned and I just hope the weather holds for you. It's very pretty drving around Scotland and there are some amazing ancent buildings depending on where you are, of course. Like Robin says, it's not as though new clothes go to waste, you can continue wearing them when you're back again! Have a wonderful time. I'm looking at going back to the UK early September too once I know what DH is doing. Even work things with him are unpredictable, ships get delayed and he has to reschedule again and again! Still at least he is happier when he is gainfully occupied.

Carole, you're so artistically talented I don't know what you're worrying about! What you describe as your projects sound way above what is generally expected, you'll do more than ok! As for other demos coming, I was at SU Convention down in Denver one year, Diane will confirm this, and there was a lot of swapping going on! The second highest earning demo in Canada swapped the crappiest items I think I have ever seen in a 3D swap so you set high standards but it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone (demo or otherwise) is at your level even if you are a newby demo.

Robin, what you say about worrying about kids is so true! It's just the way you deal with it that changes over time, Denise. I am sure if you speak to your Mom, she still worries about you to some degree, it's just she doesn't show it the same way as she did when you were a teen!

BTW, I'm in an ATC swap for techniques, Robin, and the hostess is looking for more takers. Never swapped with her before but there are hardly any names I recognise on the swaps any more anyway! Don't want to start one myself as I am unsure when I will be here!

Take care and have a great rest of the day everyone.

Ruth - what swap are you in? Maybe if you point me in the right direction I might bite.

Good morning everyone - it is a nice morning here today. Too bad I have to work and miss it. But the upside is that I am travelling to Wetaskiwin so will be able to enjoy the view from my car.

Yesterday was quiet, just a few quilt blocks made and a couple of walks with Brody. DS checked in from his bike trip. After a weekend wedding in Regina, he is in Winnipeg.

DD checked in and her weekend went ok. But then I know she can get along with anyone if she sets her mind to it.

Hopefully this link opens, Robin~!

How is everyone this morning? I'm up a little earlier than I want to be, have had trouble sleeping of late and it's beginning to annoy me!

Enjoy your drive to Wetaskiwin, Robin. How far is that? Going to look it up on a map! Good to hear your youngsters still check in with Mom! I think it's time I went and checked in with DD or she'll be calling me! Also need to check on DH as he's off on a ship this a.m. travelling down the St Lawrence or maybe even in the Great Lakes this week.

Had to go out on Saturday and buy a new fridge/freezer. The guy is also coming this week to see what A/C unit we will need! I also have to find a gardener/landscaping guy to do something with this yard before the forest totally takes over and closes in on the house! DH did quite a lot while he was here after we got back from the UK but things grow so phenomenally fast at this time of year especially with all the rain we had and now the sunshine!

May have to do a few chores before finishing up another one of my swaps. Enjoy the sunshine while you can.

I am fine, Nancy. we hardly saw any rain here in the south end of town. I see that you noticed I posted the dress Form swap

Robin, I havn't had a chance to check the shop hop. I am thinking I may pass as I want to eat into my stash first. Which place were they shopping out of again in Calgary? I have started some whirlygig blocks for a baby quilt, only to realize the I need to make the blocks smaller... grr.

Carole, hope you are safe where you are. My brother sent a note saying he's not affected since he lives in the SE part of London (by the Tate Modern)

Good morning. Glad to see we are enjoying the great weather. No rain is a blessing right now.

Body is off to doggy day care today, and I have an early morning conference call so we had to get out of bed at the first ding of the alarm rather than hitting the snooze button. I think I will need a second cup of coffee.

I am not sure where the shop hop is going yet Diane. All we know is it is heading south. We have still been snooping for gossip and hints, but we are coming up empty. I don't think I will be buying much either. Probably some tools and that will be it.

Ruth, I will check out the swap, thanks for the link.

Time's up, gotta run....

Hey Jen, good to see you here long time no talk! Hope all is well with you.

Glad to hear you're ok Diane Our weather here is still pretty warm, beautiful actually.
Your dress forms are gorgeous. I was so happy to see your update.

I've been so busy it seems. My shed is getting an over-haul and I'm helping. Putting siding on it and new doors--way cheaper than getting the new one I thought I needed. Rather spend the money on other stuff I want/need around the house.
My younger Son and family were here for a few days and just left, so a busy time. Got company coming this weekend. Then younger son is coming back for a few days in a couple of weeks and somwhere in there, I have to get my clothes ready for my trip!

AND I need time to play with my new copics for heaven's sake

Good evening, ladies! Actually I think it mue almost bedtime! Had a late night last night and wasn't up to much all day today!!!

Hi Jen, nice to see you! Hope all is well with you and yours. How's the summer vaction going with the lids being home from school? Keeping you busy I dare say.

Nancy, it's not been so nice down here today, quite cool and cloudy. I even put a very lightweight cardigan on when I went out at lunchtime!! Apparently there was even a shower near the north shore mountains.

Denise, love that you got a 1951 Singer sewing machine. I have an antique machine down in the basement in its little wooden case. I think it may be one that works when you turn the special handle!! My Dad was a bespoke tailor and he used a big Singer that was in a table and had a treadle which was quite difficult to get the hang of!!! I once had a smaller version but I stupidly got rid of it when we moved to Canada. They were actually quite prettily decorated as well as being totally practical, no problems with power outages!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Now it really is time for bed. sleep well everyone.

Hey, welcome back, Jen. Fill us in- it's been ages.

I hope you are loving your sewing machine, Denise.I almost succumbed and bought a 99K Singer as well. It's a 3/4 size and I've been toying with getting a smaller machine that would be portable enough to lug around in the event I want to go to quilting weekends. My granddad used to sell Singers so I am partial to them. And my grandmother has willed her hand crank machine to me as well but it is some thousands of miles away. Ah, nostalgia

Nancy, you've been busy. September is fast creeping up, isn't it?
I am sure you'll enjoy Scotland in the fall. Although I think fall comes slightly later there than here.

Morning, ladies.

Not feeling to energetic this a.m., didn't sleep well last night and I can't blame the dogs! I have so many craft ideas banging around in my head but I need to get on with them before I leave the country again! Actually I have been very good and started on my christmas presents for relatives here. One down and quite a few more to go! My cousin loves Christmas and all the knick knacks associated with it so I've knitted her a sparkly fluffy cushion, just hope she likes it.

Found a stash of really, really cheap Fiskars stuff at our local Liquidation World yesterday. They are selling out all their present stock as they have been taken over by another large company. Also got several really nice photos albums for $3 and a few other things, more great gifts as long as I remember where I put them!! Just need to sort thru it all and decide who gets what.

DH is back in Montreal after his travels down the St Lawrence Seaway, declined to the offer to dock at a US port later this weekend. Got delayed so missed his flight from Toronto to Montreal but at least had a partial nights sleep at the Airport hotel. Waiting to hear what the plans are for the next month or so then I can decide what I am doing.

Nancy you'll love Scotland and I do so hope the weather stays nice thru the time you are going. It's quite often lovley in September and even thru into October. Fall usually comes in a little more gently in most parts of the UK. More like the Lower Mainland here.

Better go, it's garbage collection day and I need to ge t my bin to the end of the drive. TTYL take care and enjoy your day.

LOL. Hi to all. Just did a quick scan to see what I've missed. Looks like a fair bit. We had a wonderful time in Phoenix (not for you Ruth -- nope). It was anywhere between 36 and 40 C every day. Our days went as follows -- up about 7ish, jumped in the pool, floated around until dry, then jumped in the pool, floated again in the floating chairs until dry, jumped -- (do you see a pattern) -- had a quick bite, then off to the malls in the afternoon where it was cooler. Usually grabbed a quick supper out, then back to the pool. Read our books, then bed by about 9:30. We had a wonderful time. Dana said it was so nice to just do whatever we wanted to do -- nothing to do with cars or tractors -- it was water and malls.

I know that you will have a wonderful time Nancy in Scotland. I haven't visited there yet, but it is definitely on my bucket list. Copics -- I stand my ground -- I'm not buying any at all. I don't want to even try one -- and I don't even want to watch you try one. (as you all know, I have no willpower and I will just have to have them if I even look at one) I too have a basement full of stuff -- and after our flood, I don't want any more stuff. I have a disgusting amount of supplies. How on earth did that happen?

The new grandbaby is now due in about 3 weeks. Wow, that went fast.

I was going to look at my schedule too Robin for the mystery shop -- but I think I'll just hide my credit card and stay home. This flood has cost us a fortune so far. The home restoration company nailed us for $1400 to rent their fans. We could have bought 9 fans for that price. I am most definitely NOT IMPRESSED. We haven't heard yet if we are covered by insurance or not.

My carpets can't get cleaned until next week, so will be in a mess until then.

All this chat about swaps. I too haven't done one for ages. Why don't I host a little private swap right here. Just for those of us here on this thread. Let me know how many of you are interested. It can be whatever card style/technique/ etc. you want. We'll make as many as we need so that each of us will receive one of each persons card. What do you think?

Welcome back, Deb. Sounds like Phoenix was just what you needed after the basement horror.one of my IFF, Phyllis (Pugs99 here on SCS)just moved to Mesa, outside Phoenix. She says its very hot there. My sister just came back from Houston and she echoed the sentiment. I certainly can't handle that heat.

Ruth, sounds like you are really getting your mojo back- excellent

Ack, I wish I hadn't read about Fiskars stuff at LW. I will likely be off there today after work to see what else I can find Deb, this is why we end up with rooms full of stuff!
Like Deb, I am not going anywhere near any copics demonstrations. Unless you are the one next to me Nancy, doing the demo

As for a private swap, sure. But we'll have to take into account the deadline for travellers like Ruth and Nancy

Morning, girls!

It's bright and sunny here and is going to be warm but not as warm as AZ, Deb! Welcome back btw! Gosh, that week went fast. Glad you and DD enjoyed the time together.

Enjoy your weekend, Denise.

Deb, you set a swap and I'll join. What about 3 categories? Cards, 3x3s and ATCs. No inchies, can't quite get into that mode right now!! I could have mine done anytime between now and early September or even mail from UK if I happen to be there so travelling doesn't present a problem!

I am resisting Copics too unless I should get to stay with Gayle again!

Talk to you all later, got to make a few phone calls to the UK. That'll be my morning gone!

Good Friday morning. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, it is going to be a wonderful day! I set my alarm for 6 so I could get up to go golfing, but got up and then crawled right back into bed and slept for another 3 hours. I must be exhausted. Dana downloaded an app onto my phone that measures your sleep pattern. And I was right, I do not sleep well at all. I totally wake up anywhere 3-5 times per night. I rarely go into a deep sleep pattern, but seem to sleep very light. It is very interesting.

Carole, I didn't mention yesterday, but I know that you would be an awesome demo with SU. You have the energy and most definitely a very high skill level. And the teaching end of it would just be natural for you. Whenever Ruth buys that cottage over there and we all come over for a visit, you can come and do a class for all of us

Since there are already 4 yesses for the swap, we will go ahead and do one. I'll set October 10 as our due date. I leave the 17th of October for OhMyCrafts retreat in SLC and won't be home until the 31st. I'm continuing down to AZ so I can leave my car there for this winter. Hopefully all of us would be able to participate in swapping. And Ruth, I would do a waterfall inchie maybe. My ATC inchies are all finished and I'm really happy with them. I'll do a waterfall ATC.

It was really hot Diane. I'm surprised that it didn't seem to bother me too much. But yet did bother Dana more than me. And she weighs about 100 pounds soaking wet. She is so tiny. Hope you have a wonderful trip to Jasper this weekend Denise. I know you will.
Robyn - let's do lunch really soon. Let me know what works for you and I'll come into Red Deer. I too have heard that the Trafalgar Tours are great tours to take. I know you'll have a great time Nancy.

Grrr! I am frustrated and annoyed this morning. My PVR has been nonfunctional for two weeks after a power outage. I have been trying to contact Shaw on and off but find it very difficult to get in touch with them. Their customer service line is very vague and after several runarounds, was on hold with their tech help which said it was a five hour wait. So I hung up. Called back a few days later and it said it was a 2-3 hour wait. I did wait 45 minutes then gave up. Now when I call, I cannot even get on that help line since I get the phone runaround.. you know press 1 for... press 3 for then you get back to please enter your phone number again and then you enter the same circle... so I tried to connect with their customer chat online and after about 5 minutes waiting to contact the rep, I opened up another window and was looking at other things. I think it was a 17 minute wait but unbeknownst to me, the rep had come on and then signed off because of inactivity on my part (as in I was browsing the other windows and wasn't aware that the tech had come on). Grrrr! I think I am going to go to the the Shaw office and give them a piece of my mind. But meanwhile I have a second attempt at the customer service chat. It's been 12 minutes already and this time I have both windows open so I don't miss the rep. Why is it so difficult to reach Shaw yet when they want your money from you, they make it so easy to take it from you? I am so frustrated that I am contemplating going back to Telus and I hated them. I was so glad to switch my phone away from them because of their arrogance and their horrible polices. Can you tell I am frustrated? I hope the rest of my weekend does go better :0 Hope everyone is having a stress-free Saturday

Everyone promises you the moon until you sign up -- and I think they are all alike IMHO. It is very frustrating. Whatever happened to the day when somebody actually answered a phone. I don't like automation - it is so impersonal.

Oh Diane, such a pain to have to spend soooo much time on the phone or online and get nowhere. I feel for you. Fortunatley I've not yet encountered a problem with Shaw apart from the wait to talk to someone! Hope you get things sorted soon. Enjoy your weekend as best you can.

Hmmm, Deb, I'll have to think about that waterfall inchie! I actually need to find the rest of my punches, searched high and low today in a whole load of boxes in the basement and have not yet located the right box! I only have about half of my stack of punches and it's beginning to bug me. I'm doing a 'cards from scraps' swap and it would be useful if I could find a few more punches!!

Had to wait in today for my new fridge which was a little frustrating but spent some time talking to my hsband. Ended up with a huge pool of water on the floor ad they tipped the old fridge. Fortunately I was prepared and had a large towel and the mop and bucket standing by.

It's Mission Fest today and they have the main street closed off, I did pop in earlier before the 'window' for my fridge delivery but it was so humid and warm already, I didn't stay long. I feel a bit bad about not appearing to be more supportive but I just can't be outside too long in this kind of weather. Perhaps it's time for another visit to the dr and get some blood work done.

Not sure what I'll do this evening, knitting or make some more cards. I'm contemplating a series of waterfalls in all sizes!!!

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend, girls.

So, after spending a whole hour on chat with the service representative, we ended up nowhere and we had to schedule an appointment for the service guy to come over. The person I spoke to was decent but I did tell him/her (name was Kim) that I was not a happy camper and suggested they make some improvements to their tech services.

It's awfully hot outside and I managed to sit outside for 20 minutes. Am trying to get an even colour on my upper body and not so much of a farmers tan.

Am contemplating going out to see a movie tonight- The Help. It looks interesting and I have to use up a cineplex gift cert by the end of the month.

I like your idea of making cards, Ruth. I made a couple today. used a flower from 5th Avenue Floral, embossed it and did the watercolour wonder technique with reinkers. I really like how they turned out. Used Tim Holz's spiced marmalade as the reinker so the flowers are a vibrant orange.

I know what you mean Ruth. Due to our flood, I had to empty every single shelf, cupboard, drawer, everything! It is in piles all over my basement. I don't know if I could find much right now either. The carpets are being steam cleaned Monday and Wednesday this week - so as of Thursday I can start putting things back. My plans are to definitely do waterfalls as a card, ATC and inchie. I can see where this could go!

Afternoon !!!!!!

Well my one-day retreat went amazingly well yesterday ! From the feedback forms, everyone enjoyed themselves, and want me to arrange another one- with less food oops, I did overdo the buffet a little, but I do believe that too much is better than too less !

Everyone really enjoyed the classes - a paper wreath (i'm sure you've already seen them), a brag wallet, a small pizza box and belly band with four stamped tealights inside, and a set of four cards. I had prepared everything down to the least little thing, and it was lovely seeing everyone's faces as they walked into the hall ! Everything was laid out ready for them, and all the 'fiddly' little bits and pieces and gifts were in beautiful stamped bags with glittering tags. Inside the bags were little boxes, bags and sour cream containers with little presents (dauber, spot, dimensionals, rhinestones, ribbons) and they went down a treat. One attendee who was new to me, but happened to see the retreat advertised on my blog, came up to me before the first class, and said that everything was just perfect !

The first class was the wreath, and there were lots of oohs and aahs when they saw my sample, and then oohs and aahs when they'd finished with all the ribbon curling ha ha ha !

The rest of the day went really quickly, and when it was time to go home, there were lots of hugs from lots of new friends made on the day. I am buzzing !

I have a huge party booked from one of the attendees, 4 for a new stampers 10 group, 1 new demo (who is letting her demo-ship go, but will re-sign if she can sign with me), 3 for scrapbooking classes, and 4-6 to attend my regular crop ! Got some sales as well, but the majority are saving theirs for the party booked in September - whoop whoop ! I am soooooo happy. My SU career is finally starting to take off with a lot of blood, sweat and tears ! Oh ... and there's some photos on my blog during one of the classes !

Anyway .... Nancy - when are you coming to Scotland ?

Deb- So pleased that you had a great holiday. I will keep everything crossed that the insurance pay out for you !

The rest of you - GET USING YOUR COPICS !!!!!!!

Oh ... and I'm off to Ireland with Aaron tomorrow, so I will be missing in action for just 10 days.

Oh oh oh ... almost forgot - count me in for the swaps ! Haven't got a clue how to make a waterfall ATC so you just might to have 'plain' from me !

Catch y'all when I get back - love 'n' hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxxx

sounds like it was an extremely successful crop Carole. Congratulations to you! It sounds like you had it all planned to perfection.

Quiet here this weekend. I just came from my garden. Tonight potatoes, beets, carrots, onions right from the garden. Yummy!

Yay for the swap. So far we have:
Deb - regular cards, 3x3, ATC, inchies
Denise - regular cards
Diane - regular cards, ATC, inchies
Ruth - regular cards, 3x3, ATC, inchies
Carole - regular cards, 3x3, ATC, inchies
Robin - regular cards, ATC, inchies ????
Nancy - not this time. Too busy travelling (a girl after my own heart)

If you are concerned with the "date", not to worry, this is going to be really relaxed and since it is just between "us" we can do whatever we want Like "no rules" persay!

Let's do regular sized cards (4 1/4 x 5 1/2); 3x3; ATC's; inchies. Let me know which swap you would prefer. I'm going to do them all!
