Brilliant US Christmas shop, I could spend hours browsing on their site. Lots of Jim Shore ornaments which are my favourites.

Purely for my decorative pleasure. The tags I do for prezzies are very, very ordinary.

I just went out to the shed to find the Chrissy tree. So I went to look in the garage. Back I go and have a better look in the shed. And then I have a look in another shed, and then back to the garage. No tree!!! And between the three sheds I don't have enough junk to fill one, they're mostly empty, so it's not like it can hide in any one of them. I'm bummed!

I'll have another look tomorrow.

The Elves stole it?

I have a new 7 footer on layby but to be honest not sure I'm going to bother, Dad and I are going to a friends place for Christmas day and it's a good 5-6 hour job to do my tree so may give it a miss this year.

I'd not give them away either, too gorgeous.

Mines about 7' so it not easy to hide, lol. I didn't put it up last year since I knew no one would be around. I just rang my mum thinking we may have taken it to her place last year. No joy.

Yay! I found the tree! I forgot I put it in a new box since the original box got all busted up.

So I have my tree up and running. I've been making phone calls tonight, and we've all settled on having Christmas Day at my home. All cooking (incl turkey) will be done outside on the Weber. Plans, plans, plans. Now it's starting to look a lot like Christmas!

We were writing our posts at the same time LOL

You'll have to send me the recipes. I have access to lots of free beans and broccoli, and they are some of my favourite vegies.

Well done Theresa! Yes, those vegies that Deb is going to do sound really yummy, it's nice to do something different with veg occasionally.

Garlic Crumb Beans Recipe - Taste.com.au
without the breadcrumbs

I can't find the broccoli one on line but all I do is steam the broccoli, lightly saute it in a bit of olive oil. toast the pine nuts and sprinkle them over the top.

Late today, I'm mowing the table drains surrounding my house and I run over a snake (about 2'). It gave a quick jolt, reacting to getting run over and then just curled up. It didn't look injured, but when I looked at it half an hour later I determined it to most likely be dead. I erred on the side of caution and prodded it and it sprang into action again. only to lie back down into his resting position. Hmmm.

I tried to idenitify him via the web, and have narrowed it down to the harmless Keelback or the highly venomous Rough Scaled snake. Anyone got any clues or experiences with either of these snakes?

So that is two snakes so far this season? Sounds like you need a course on snake handling!

Sorry I can't help with identifying, we have only nasty tigers and dugites and nice carpet snakes. Or, ask me about the goannas living in my yard (we have a king skink and two bobtails and have had a monitor lizard about 12 years ago).

Not a bad variety considering I'm in the 'burbs.

Heydeeho!

Quick question: Have any of you lovely Australians ever used Amuse Ink? I have a sneaking suspicion it is just the full size KaiserCraft ink pads. I bought several of them for a couple of bucks each from Lincraft. I have a sneaking suspicion they may be made by the same manufacturer. EEK! I say because I have just bought a fair few Amuse stamps and am waiting for them to arrive. Only noticed the package similiarity on the Amuse site. What a goose I am. I hope I am wrong for my $ake. LOL

Hope you all are well.

Is that a*muse Studio? I think Theresa might have some.

If it si A*muse Studio, I thought their stamps look completely different being cling rubber and the full size ink pad cases looked like my Tsukineko pads (Encore, Stazon and Versamark).

The little bit of wrapping I noticed channelled Christina Re and Martha Stewart.

The variety of products, definitely didn't look like Kaisercraft either.

The ink from the company A*muse Studio. Silly Me. I will try and post a picture of the Amuse ink container (clear top with back base as with the older Kaiser ones). Wish me luck as I am so unco when it comes to stuff like this.
Here is a piture I found courtesy of this lovely blogger: Breaking News: Review of A Muse Studio Ink - PAPERLICIOUS

Here is a picture I found of the Kaiser full size ones: Kaiser ink image by petalsandpaint on Photobucket

I would be chuffed to be wrong.

Here's a link to Encore by Tsukineko Encore Ultimate Metallic Ink by Tsukineko - same pads again - I think there are a limited number of manufacturers and it would be less expensive to use what is available than reinvent the wheel.

Hi Jen, I tell you what I know of both of those products. I did use to own the Kaiser Kraft ink pads at one time, but I've never owned A*muse Studio ones. Regardless of packaging I can say with confidence that they are in fact two different things. The Kaiser Kraft is a dye ink, and the A*muse Studio is pigment ink. If you need another comparison, KK is like SU! ink pads, and AS is like Versacolor ink cubes.

BTW - I found the KK ink pads to be very good product, unfortunately they had a very small colour range. About 4 years ago I decided that dye ink was the ink for me and I bought as many different pads as I could find so I could decide which ones I liked the best. My top picks would be SU!, Adirondak, and KK. (I didn't have access to Memento so I didn't get to try it out.)

There is nothing wrong with pigment inks of course, it's just that I have a personal preference for dye ink. But if I did like pigment inks, I'd think AS ink pads would be tempting for me to try. I read some very good reviews about them. I'd love to hear what you think about them when you get a chance to try them out. Keep us informed.

My Xmas shopping is done except for my 93 year old Mother who today came down from Port Augusta to stay for a few weeks. She is very keen on plants and gardens so I guess it will be the usual potted pointsetties or something in that line. Other than her I think I am pretty organised.

Oooh, I so miss Port Augusta, really lovely little town. My christmas preparations will take place after christmas. The X is giving the boys a gift card for christmas so when they go to spend them, I will top them up a bit on the day. That is a fun thing they like doing with granma. I have an iTunes card for the daughter and a pair of scuffs for the X. Foodwise we do our final shop on thursday and not again till Wednesday the following week. Everything is closed till then as Christmas falls on a sunday. I think since the boys are in their teens this might be our last christmas, getting a bit out of hand now...lol

Oh no! You're never too old for Christmas. I'm looking forward to spending my first Christmas day with my children as adults.

I just got home from doing my second to last shop. I picked up the turkey, plum pudding and other eats. I just turned on the spare fridge, but that doesn't seem to be working, so plan B is get get Bryan to bring me his esky full of ice. I'll ring my mum later, let her know what I've got and she can fill in the blanks. During the week I'll be hunting and collecting and exchanging vegies with the locals. So far I've secured brocolli, beans, corn and potatoes.

For the rest of my day off I'll keep tidying up and this evening I'll go to Christmas church service. We get ours done early since it's a long way for the Pastor to drive out and he'll be pretty busy next weekend.

Oh I totally agree, I love Christmas and I'm 43. My Dad is 72 and he still gets a kick out of opening his presents, although he tries to hide it.

All the pretty decorations and twinkling lights and a smile and Merry Christmas from strangers. If only we could bottle that good cheer for the rest of the year!

I'm already planning next years cards as I joined the 2012 card challenge, hopefully it will keep me on track.

Two more days of work for me and then I'm in holiday mode.

I went to Carols (the singing kind) last night and that got me in the mood to go and buy a Christmas CD. Any suggestions? I'll be singing along while I stuff the turkey. Take pity on my family. I need someone like, say, Micheal Buble, to be a backup singer, lol.

Boxing Day I'll be heading off to Sunshine Coast for a couple of days. Got to air out the cozzie and hit the beach!

Thanks for the tip!

I've just been talking to my DD about Christmas and stuff, and now we're also making plans for her 18th birthday in four weeks. Thankfully we don't have to throw a party, we're going out on the town instead.

Hi Girls,

I've finally been crafting every moment possible to get my christmas cards finished. I know I made a measly 8 cards, but it took ages...lol. I've popped them on my blog for you to see. I'm very happy with them.

Christmas preparations are getting there, still quite a bit to do though. At least for Sunday I only have a pav to make and some pork to roast up. For christmas at Mums on Saturday I have gingerbread trees to make and also cookie ones, and other yummy xmas treats. I'm thinking of buying a cake, and making cake pops.

Good morning ladies.

2 more sleeps to go. Today I'll be running around doing the last bit of shopping (food), catching up with a friend for her birthday, and running a few errands. From tomorrow at midday, I plan to call it quits on getting ready, and kick back and let Christmas roll on in.

On the last afternoon of work, I had one of the locals, a rose grower, coming thru our site. I had to stop him, and while he was waiting he thought it would be a good idea to bestow upon me a bunch of long stemmed red roses!! Aaawwww.....that was so sweet. And they smelt devine too.

Your Tilda cards are lovely Kath. I did a few Tilda cards, but as I made over 50 cards a lot of them had less work. Also a the time I was in love with "Lovely as a Tree" SU stamps and used them a lot. Hope every one has a lovely, happy and safe Xmas. May all your hangovers be mild! LOL.

Kath,
your cards are beautiful, so much work put into them, i've got few stamps, but not to crash hot on the colour part, maybe in the new year i can get to some classes and get it figured out. Great job.

Merry Christmas, cheers
Maria

Christmas preparations are getting there, still quite a bit to do though. At least for Sunday I only have a pav to make and some pork to roast up. For christmas at Mums on Saturday I have gingerbread trees to make and also cookie ones, and other yummy xmas treats. I'm thinking of buying a cake, and making cake pops.

Woohoo Aussies!!! Merry Christmas everyone.

I see that SU have just run a really good promotion to encourage people to sign up as a demonstrators and I was wondering if SU Australia are going to do something too. I was just updating my blog with a gift voucher holder that I made with all SU products and I thought maybe I should become a demonstrator.

Hello and welcome mrs-chlo.

There is always a sign up incentive during sale-a-bration which will start in Feb (I do believe). I joined up as a demo during SAB svereal years ago and I've only ever known the incentive to be a discounted rate and an extra free stamp set of choise. I'd be very surprized if SU Australia would have anything to match the US incentives. If you were interested in joining I definitely wait until SAB in Feb.

Overcast, muggy and windy today. I've closed the house up and put the air con on. I'm sitting back waiting for everyone to turn up.

It's a lovely day over on the Brisbane bayside, it was a little rainy here this morning but the breeze has kept our muggyness away, WOOT!

Have a very merry christmas all, eat drink and be merry! Cheers
