Sydney Deb - I've been meaning to ask you something for a while now. Someone called Deb C***** often leaves comments on my blog but I've got no idea who it is. Is it you maybe?

No sweetie not me, I think my name on the blogs is either SydneyDeb or just Debs. I've been a very slack blogger lately, mine is so negligected.
Those sound like good options. I'd probably do almost anything except nativity images.
I only have one nativity set, from I think Stamps Etc but that is it, I don't celebrate Christmas as a religious event.
I do have a super cute Reindeer I may use as I need to make their card small enough to fit in their parcels.
I had forgot I'd lent a friend some of my craft stuff and she gave it all back to me about a month or so again, would you belive it made me cry to see it all again. I KNOW at least two of the stamps were not in there when I lent them to her so I suspect she's doing a sneaky and rebuilding my stash.
This is the time of year for Chanuka, which is the festival of light. Part of the tradition is lighting a candle of the Menorah each night for 8 nights.

Hmmmm I will have to check if I still have my candle stamp, thanks KoffeeKat I didn't know that.
OMG how cold is it. Hello it's December it should be hot. We have our Christmas party at Rockpool Bar & Grill on Thursday night and I think I will be changing what I'm wearing. Not exactly sleeveless dress n sandals weather
Shopping is all done but I am panicking over cards. I've signed up for the 2012 Christmas card challenge on here so I hope that will keep me on track.
Everyone is saying it, but where has the year gone?
I'm must be a bit overcome this year. Hurt my back 2 weeks ago and it's put me into more of a tailspin than usual. (and apologies in advance for the long post - I think I need to vent )
Tuesday: After cupcakes for a fete the week before and struggling through cupcakes for the class, poor DD missed out on birthday horseriding and decorated homemade cake.
Thursday: DD had her concert cancelled halfway through the act last week (rescheduled to tonight) due to a power outage. I heard someone hit a power pole and took out power to about 1/3 of the town. Everyone's whining about going back - think about the person who hit the pole!
Friday: Took 6 hours to do 2 hours work. Still, I felt good to achieve something for the week.
Weekend: I forced DD to finish her assignment, then found out we had sent it in a week early. The teacher wouldn't open it and DD was a bit disappointed.
Monday: Found out the air con on our caravan wasn't working (warranty job). It took 5 phonecalls to the supplier over 3 hours, and in the end, I called the repairer myself to expedite things. No openings until Thursday and wanted us to take 25ft of van to their yard for 2 days. I said I'd pay the travel costs!
And so to today...My room is in a mess, the house is in a mess, I need to shop, my back is still stiff (had more physio last night) and DH has me waiting for people to turn up.
I LOVE DECEMBER!

You certainly have had a rough week, hopefully things will get better. I actually got around to making about 45 Xmas cards. I had heaps of stamped images all ready and coloured and then ended up not using many. I fell in love with the SU "Lovely as a Tree" set of stamps and mostly made cards using them. I will just have to buy a set of my own as these are ones I have borrowed from a friend, she had never used them and the rate I am going I will wear hers out. Perhaps I will get new ones and give those to her and keep her set! LOL. Now I just need the enthusiasm to fill out the cards and post them.
At the rate I'm going no one will get a Christmas card this year. Got cards to give but haven't got the fortitude to sit down and go thru the addressing. I'm so very bad.

I am always slow to sit down and write out Xmas cards too Theresa. I am not really a Xmas lover like a lot of people, I try to get enthusiastic for the grandchildren's sake as of course they love it so much. It's such an expense though, think of all the craft stuff it would buy! LOL.
Hello ladies, totally wasting time, in recovery mode today. We had our work Christmas party last night, Rockpool Bar & Grill in Hunter Street, worth it just for the amazing building, it's stunning. After copious amounts of champagne, wine & cocktails and 4 hours sleep I am not functioning today I can tell you
That was the start of my silly season of parties, I have 4 more to go. I hope this weather holds till Sun, I'm catching up with 6 friends and we've booked a balcony table.
Nice to finally see some sun, it's been a pretty crap start to summer.
Better do something, chat soon, have a great weekend all x
I've run out of time this year, but if anyone would like to exchange Christmas cards next year let me know and I'll add you to the list.
I've joned the 2012 Christmas card challenge, now I just have to actually make them but I'm going to use up my stash of freebie papers that comes with the cardmaking magazines.
The weather here hasn't been very beneficial to me. Every time it rains it means I don't get to work that day, We were sent home Wed morning and haven't been back since. Still, what I lack in finacially gain, I make up for in crafting time.
I working on tag 8 for Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas. Then I'm packing my bags and heading to the city for the card club Christmas get together on Sat. They'll finally get to make their card kits that I wasn't able to get to them last month. Except this year my kit is a decorated #2 box (pg 160 of the SU! catty). Did you know that the box holds 6 cadbury favourites it in? And I just so happen to have a box of favourites to fill their boxes when they are finished! And the Christmas cards I give them will match the box too.

We are happy to have the rain here Theresa, but of course we don't get as much as you and we don't have work to worry about. I would have thought working for the council you would be on a set weekly base wage with extra for overtime? I have a birthday card to make for a friend this weekend. I was pleased at my LSS yesterday, they had the bigger embossing folders of Swiss Dots, it's one I use a lot but the Cuttlebug one is often too small and I always had to join it and cover it with ribbon. The brand I got was a "Couture Creations". The dots are a little larger and slightly spaced more apart than the Bug one, but I think it will be OK. It was $8 and she still charges about $11 for the smaller Bug folders. I am hoping to get some more embossing folders when I go to the U.S.A. next year, at least they would be light to carry home! LOL.
I just got home. There has been a big storm thru here and there is minor flooding around my home. Bryan rang and said not to bother about coming out to the farm - parts of the road have washed away. Here we go again!
And on the way home I'm listening to the radio, checking on the weather updates, and I hear on the news that Lockyer Valley residents (me) will be given a public holiday on the 10 Jan. Why!!??? I don't recall anyone asking us if this was a good idea. Can only imagine what the farmers and small business think of this idea. The majority of people I know just want to get back to work and keep working. And what about the rest of Queensland (or some of the other states)? Didn't they suffer too with lose and distruction? I'll stop ranting before I get a headache from all this BS. Sheesh!
Hi Jan! I'm only employed as a contractor. And currently I'm working with Roadtek which is the Mainroads mob. If the weather is fine we'll work big days and weeks, if not, we just wait - at home. We literally do have to save up for rainy days, LOL.

Onto funner stuff. I met with the girl from card club. They liked the little gift boxes they got to make up in their kits, especailly when I filled them with chocolates .
My DD got a traineeship with the local council. I'm so excited for her getting her first (nearly) real adult job.

Did anyone get to see the total lunar eclipse last night?
The bright moonlight woke me up last night as the moon was positioned just outside my window. Then I remembered about the ecplise, and sure enough there was the moon getting swallowed up by the earths shadow. So I pulled the net curtains aside, repositoned my pillow and watched the moon disappear while I was lying in bed. Then at 11.45 I started to phone people to let them know to go look outside. I'm sure they didn't mind the wake up, LOL!

Ready for Christmas? Hmmm...I still haven't decided what and where I'm going to be on the day yet. LOL.
I've been wrapping prezzies today. I've been mentally checking people of the gift list and realised I didn't in fact have a gift yet for one person. Good thing I found out now instead of next week.

Pressies all bought and wrapped
Cards all addressed
US parcel to be wrapped up and posted
Christmas day will be a friend's place so nothing to do there except work out what I need to bring
I'm actually thinking about setting up the Christmas Tree.
Tomorrow I'll be finshed the 12 Tags of Christmas. One more tag and my wall display will be complete. Yay! It makes me so happy just to walk in the room and see the colourful display.

I finally set up our tree yesterday. We have a large lounge window and we always set it up in front of that and then decorate the windows with things that light up. It's good to have it all done and now looks pretty. I always find it a trip down memory lane, as whenever we have gone overseas I have always bought Xmas tree decorations as souvenirs and have little things from all over the world hanging on our tree. Canada and America have wonderful Xmas decorations and have Christmas shops open all year round.
We will have 2 christmases, one on the day and one on boxing day, all to do with family members exes and what day they have kids on.
Our tree has been up just over a week, the outside fairy lights are all switched on a flicking away.
I know the food I have to do, will just do the prep closer to the day.
Presents are done and some wrapped.
Before we know it the day will be here and will be gone and the new year appearing !
