Jan - Glad to hear it arrived, I was starting to think it may have got lost in the mail. And of course it was completely unnecessary, which is what makes it even more delightful to give. I had a look thru your gallery and couldn't see any of the die cuts I sent so I thought the ones I picked out would be a safe bet. When I'm at the tail end of a paper pack I sit down and die cut whatever is leftover. That gives me some ready mades to craft with and some to gift to others.

I had picked out a tag for you and then I thought I should send you one I know you love already, duh! I'm hoping the Spellbinder dies will be useful for you. I think they'd make nice sentiment embellishments. I love crafting with kids, but I don't get to do it much. When I get grandkids we are going to have a lot of fun in my Aladdins cave.

Mr B is not a cat lover at all but he is all moosh when it comes to that cat. I tell them they both make me sick the way they adore each other, LOL. No animals were allowed to come in the house here, but when I bought Big Blue over he was ushered in and given a choise of places to park his butt. *rollseyes* His DD13 walked in and stopped dead in her tracks seeing this break in the 'rules'. "But dad,.....(stammer stammer stammer)."

The lifelong access is a big bonus with Online Card Classes. I've done one other (popular)online craft course and was disappointed and of course before I knew it access had expired. For the same money I felt I got so much more out of CC101. I might think about redoing the course along with you

How foolish of the LSS to treat you like that. I went to a LSS years ago, when I lived in Brisbane, and got the same feeling that asking questions was really asking too much. Couple of years later I went in to get something I needed and the new owners not only answered all my questions but introduced me to others with the same interests. One of those introductions turned into my bestest stamping buddy and is like a second mum to me now.

I don't go to the GC much, but there use to be a couple of good shops to go to. I know one closed down due to health reasons and one of the partners of that operation went on to become a SU! demo. If your thinking of going to the GC let me know because my friend would know just about every crafty shop there is to know in SE Qld, including the home based businesses that are difficult to find out about. She is the treasurer of one of the biggest stamping clubs in Brisbane.

OMG I just saw the cutest thing. I've been stalking the latest CHA releases as you know, and finally today I get to see what Cheery LYnn has got for us. I had to pause the video and come and tell you about the new KOALA in a branch with a BABY die. I don't think I'll ever use it but it's so cute I'd want to buy it anyway, lol.

Back to the video.....

That koala die sure is cute, be nice for O.S. Xmas cards. But do they have to call it a BEAR! That is one of my pet peeves. LOL. Theresa I have cut you out a few Fancy That "Leafy Swirl" and "Swirly Flourish" dies I would like to send. Unfortunatey I didn't keep the envelope with your address. I thought I had it here somwhere in one of my folders and although I found all sorts of other stuff I had forgotten I had your address wasn't one of them. Could you pm it to me please. We are heading off to Tassie for 18 days on Friday and I will post them before I go. I have a list of scrapbooking stores around Tassie but whether I will get into them is another matter! LOL. I can but hope.

How much can a koala bear? LOL

Thanks Jan for your offer. I'd love to see those dies in person! I went and did a google search for Fancy That dies. WOW! They have some very nice designs. I can't find any info on who makes them though.

I'll send a PM.

Got your PM thnaks Theresa. I have bought the Fancy That dies from the Papercraft Hub in Canberra. The girl who runs it told me that she actually designs a lot of the dies, but has them made in the USA. There are several more that I would like too, I rather like one of the dragonflys.

Thanks for that info. An aussie designer, cool! I went to that website to see the dies. I must go back and have a look at what else she has. I've already been to her blog but that has not been updated in months. I see she goes to shows so I'll have to keep a look out for her.

Speaking of blogs. I find a lot of my info and inspiration from blogs, but I find there is often only sporadic offerings in this area from online retailers in Australia. I realize that not all crafters craft via the web like I do, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any Aussie retailer that promotes themselves via regular blogging. I've only found one blogger that fits the bill but still most of their readership is predominently US based.

Glad you liked them Theresa. Let me know how you go about colouring the white ones. Lovely here in Hobart, but cold and wet this morning. We had dinner at Wrest Point Casino and I came home $5 up on the pokies! ╠ will try to be very careful as to how I spend it! LOL.

Jan I made my latest tag with some of your die cuts, and the white ones were perfect just as they were for this challenge.

The Lockyer Creek floods we have at the moment have no effect on my property at all. The effected area are further down stream. Out on the farm we are locked in for the time being until the creek subsides. We parked one ute on the other side yesterday morning and the crossing was unpassable by the afternoon with the road on the other side washed away. This morning both sides have been washed away. We'll go down again in a couple of hours to see if we can wade across and get out. Otherwise we are safe and sound here with enough supplies to keep us going for another day or two.

Our creek is more or less a dry gully most of the time. These pics show what the crossing looked like this morning. The level had already dropped significantly by the time we got down to have a look. We were lucky again, as the valleys to the east and west of us copped the major flooding rains. Several of our friends had to evacuate.

Just watching the news in Melbourne, seeing Bundaberg and other parts of Queensland under water. Prayers and thought will all up north at moment.

Theresa, so pleased you did not fare too badly in the wet and hope it is all going down. Lots of wind and rain on the coast through the tail of the cyclone. And I learned something new, now to shut the cicadas up, rain steadily!!

Take care with fires those down south and hope the eastern parts get some dry feet soon.

Really feeling for Bundaberg They have been hit hard this time. I just got my ute across the creek today. So glad I argued for a 4x4 six months ago. Our crossing won't be fixed for a while. I don't thnk we've seen the last of the rain. I'm going into town to get all the supplies I need to keep us out of trouble should something worse happen. Cross fingers we'll be okay. Went out for a drive to see how the upper parts of the valley fared. Not good. I was stunned by the extent of the destruction the fast lowing creek caused. I didn't think it could get worse than the last time, but it did. Upper parts of the Lockyer Creek are fine, so thats a relief. My house is safe.

I called Telstra to ask for a soloution for my usage shortage I now face on my mobile phone. As you can imagine we're using it more than normal. They were very understanding, so now I don't have to worry about exccessive charges should I go over my limit in the next few days. My DD has just left for a road trip down thru central NSW to Wagga and I and worried for her.

Any of you crafty stampy girls notice the new Friday challenge here at SCS. Mix Ability! I was thrilled when I was asked to be a part of this and do a hostess spot on their DT. I'll let you know when my day turns up but in the meantime we'd love to have any of you join in.

OMG! I haven't been here since before Christmas?!?

Just caught up on everyone. Seems like everyone is doing OK.

School holidays were crazy here. DD went to work with me or Hubby a lot. Days off were spent doing books at home mostly. Threw in some swimming lessons and it was all over.

I did manage to spend a couple of hours to do over some of my organisation and make about 3 cards.

I managed to hurt my calf last night practicing a lay-up (I have to be the stand in basketball coach next week) so I might have to take it easy and sit around for a week or two.

Hello Kat. Figured you were up to your eyeballs in something. I always loved the school holidays when I had the kids and I found they were over way to quickly. Glad to have you pop in to say hello and hope to hear more from you now your back.

I've had another full week. Got a puppy on Monday evening. I wasn't expecting to get one so soon but he's here now. So far he's been very well behaved. He doesn't come inside and sits quietly near the steps. Doesn't sook too much, thank goodness. I take him for short walks as often as I can thruout the day to teach him to walk behind me and sit when I stop. We don't walk our dogs with leads so he needs to learn this well. He comes from a litter bred for pigging, not that he'll see much of that action with me, and if he grows into half the dog his father is we'll be very happy.

I also had a job interview and induction this week. I'll start my new job next week.

I started working in an Art Journal. Fun stuff.

I found out this week a sister has landed in hospital with some nasty injuries when she come off a motor bike. I think she'll be okay after a lengthy recovery. She'll have to wear a body brace for several months.

Very quiet here lately. I got back from Tassie on Monday. I managed to get to a couple of SB stores and bought a couple of little odds and sods. I am off to Melbourne with 4 girl friends for a few days next week (this was actually planned before the Tassie trip) It seemed OK a few months ago, but now I would like a few weeks home first! LOL. Still the suitcase is still out and I know to take at least half as many clothes. I was looking for SB stores around the city of Melb but all I could find was Eckersleys. Anyone know of any nearby. There is a Lincraft in the city too that I usually check out. Theresa what is that leafy flourish die you use quite a lot? It looks as though it is quite a bit larger than the one I have.

Hi Jan. The leafy flourish is by Cheery Lynn. They make it in three sizes, and I have the middle size.

Fanciful Flourish - Cheery Lynn Designs

My new job has been great with lots more work than I've had in months but it's not that close to home. I leave home 4.30am and don't get home till about 8.00pm. I hear this work site will be operating for about three months, working about 10hrs a day, after that I'm going to pitch hard for work closer to home.

My son came home for a surprise visit from the army. He'll come out today and we've made a date to go for a walk/run to the top of the hill. My Daughter is also staying for the next couple of days so I'm a very happy mum this weekend. Tomorrow is my partners daughters Confirmation so most of the day will be with his family. I'll have tonight and tomorrow afternoon to get everything ready for another full week of work. This week we were quite unprepared for all this time I'd be away from home so a lot of stuff just didn't get done.

I know that feeling Theresa. Why does work always have to interfere with what you want to do?

Trouble is, without work, you can't afford what you want to do.

Roll on lotto.

Just wanted to share some really funny digis I found last month. Bugaboo - Gus and Stella

I used one for my anniversary card and am going to use another on DH's birthday card (yes, I know I should actually post a picture some time...)

Might just be an Australian sense of humour but I love them.

Ahh... the end of another trying day. Since Australia Day we've had ongoing issues with rain and having a creek crossing and not having one. No sooner are the repairs started and the creek rises and makes a mess of it again.

MY DD19 made a trip into town early today (the creek was down enough to cross at the time) before heading off to work for a 1200 start. Later I called her and told her she would most likely need to buy whatever essentials she would need to get thru the night as she would not be able to make it back to the farm tonight. She asked if she could come back right now to get her stuff as she needed to get to Brisbane tomorrow to start her new job on Mon. We agreed to try. We met at the creek and found it okay to cross, but told her we only had 15 mins to get her back across. We had her back to her vehicle just in time, with her gear and emergency supplies of bedding and food should she find herself stuck between high waters.

She got to work early, as she had no place else to go, and the boss got her working straight away since he was having a flooding issues of his own with water threatening his home and business. Thankfully he made a decision to close shop before nightfall, so she decided to start making her way to Brisbane. She was to call me at designated points along the way, and I gave her instructions of what she would need to do along each stretch should she need to implement a plan B. Thankfully she made to back to Bris without incident and I could stop worrying about her.

Having to make all these contingency plans would of had to have been the most stressful day. We check the creek levels several times a day, and since all our vehicles are parked on the other side it means a long, wet walk for us. One trip we saw that mud had slipped down into the table drain therefore pushing the runoff out onto the dirt road/track. To prevent furthur damage to our only access we had to try to clear the drain. So there I am tramping barefoot thru calf deep mud in the rain trying to clear a channel. The other day we were rescueing our dogs with ropes when they found themselves suddenly on the wrong side of a rising and fast flowing creek. As for the crossing that is under repair for the third time in a month, I think it has been damaged again.

It's still raining. I been stuck here for 24hrs as we don't dare risk leaving in case we can't get back. I'm not holding my breath that we'll get out tomorrow. I just got a little bit excited when The Other just mentioned that he thought he saw a star, lol. Even the ducks are so over all this water. Just got to hold tight.

Theresa, we are crying out for water in S.A.! I do so wish it could be more evenly spread so that you don't have all the problems you are having at the moment. I have personally only ever known rain as a great thing, growing up on our station in S.A.'s far north, we were always so thrilled to get rain. We did have some times when it was too much too quickly and dams were burst etc, but it always did more good than harm. It must be devastating for people to live in areas where their homes get flooded and all the misery and heartache that goes with it, I feel for you all. Loving that new flourish die
by the way, have used it on a couple of SB pages already.

It's a lot to take in sometimes. Now Dalby is flooded, again. And bushfires in WA!

Did you buy a new one (flourish die)? I'm not game to look at anything new at the moment. I haven't worked for a week but I've been fortunate to get a few hours at the pub this week to tide me over. I'm still looking at June as my target for getting back on track with my finances and I have some spare money for myself. I'd like to get some acrylic paints but I'm not sure which ones to get.

Yes, I got a new one Theresa. I was going to check it out online but just happened to be in my LSS getting a couple of sheets of paper for a SB and saw it there and pounced! LOL. I have also ordered another Cuttlebug embossing folder called "flourished frame". What really bugs me is that I had it once and never really used it, so ended up selling it. Then I saw a really nice card done with it and the embossing was partly cut out, it was here on SCS, so I decided I wanted it again. I have just sold (on Gumtree) a couple of other old combo dies that I haven't used for years so that made me feel less extravagant. LOL.

Theresa, here is the card I was talking about. I have some plans to make some sympathy cards with it.

I've seen that folder before but probably would have been stuck for ideas to use it too. The cut away is a great idea. I've tried to make something today but all I'm succeeding in doing is making a mess. Time to walk away and do something else. I'm going to put a chook on the BBQ and take the dogs and pup for a walk to see what it looks like up the creek.

! have been fiddling around today with some Arbee air dry clay. I have some silicone moulds that I bought originally for making fondant flowers for cake decorating and although I knew they could be used for clay etc I had never tried it before. They will dry overnight and I will paint and varnish them tomorrow. I have since seen on the net that there is also something called "Paper Magic Clay" and that dries like paper, that would probably be better still as it would be lighter. I guess even the bread dough that people used to make to make jewellery etc would work as well? The Fimo clay comes in a lot of nice colours but was more expensive than the white Arbee.
Has anyone else ever made clay or resin embellishments?

The smaller roses on this card are made with the clay in a silicone mould like I was talking about in my previous post.

No, they are easy to make with the moulds. I just used an air dry clay that dried overnight. I will also try the Fimo which comes in great colours, but I think that has to be baked in the oven.

I won some Fimo a few years back. Make sure it is soft when you buy it as mine got very stiff over time and was hard to use.

But, it is great fun. Yes, you do bake it but you get quicker results that way, great for that instant fix.

Thanks for that. Actually when I went into Spotlight today they didn't have Fimo, so I got some stuff called Sculpey. Great range of colours too. More expensive than the Arbee air dry stuff but then you don't have to fiddle aorund painting Ýt after. Have made a few but not baked it yet.

This is a scrapbook page I have just finished for my grandaughter, Isabella, for her birthday album. This was at her 6th birthday party. I used some of the little clay roses on here too.

Hello Ladies!

I've been out of the loop for nearly two weeks. I think I worked 72 hours last week and I was more focused on getting enough sleep that nothing else got done. This is the first time I've turned the laptop on for a week! I've got a nice quite (slow) job close to home for the next week or two, so I packed the laptop and modem and am sitting in the ute waiting for my next truck delivery to turn up. A welcome change to stopping traffic on the Gore Highway - so many road trains.

Jan your roses look lovely. I like how sweet and tiny they are. Perfect for embellishing. I haven't tried anything like that.

While I haven't had time to play in my craft room, I have snuck in some creative time with doodling Zentangles in a little note pad I store in my pocket. That is something I can do while sitting outdoors, like I was last week. This week I have the luxury of being able to bring some crafty supplies and keeping them in my vehicle. So far I've made a tag for Tim Holtzs Tattered Flowers Challenge which closes this friday so I better get cracking with a post.
