What a lazy arse day!
I did manage to vacuum but really that's all I've done in the "productive" area.
Kate requested cupcakes again...but vanilla. I don't have a vanilla recipe. I had to go search for one. I did text Jess to see if she had one.
Since I couldn't make cutie buggie wait I found on online that was super easy and so far (the batter! ) seems good.
First round is in the oven so we'll see in a bit.
Now if only that Keurig hadn't died on me!
Went to the football game, which they lost, which sucks. I am really starting to get worried about Josh and Kevin's jobs. Maria and I get so defensive when anyone in the crowd criticizes the coaches. They can only do so much with players that just aren't good!
Then I had a very discouraging shopping trip. I really need some shorts to bring to Orlando, but I went to Old Navy, Kohl's, and Target and didn't find anything, not even on the clearance racks. I don't know what I'm going to wear while I'm down there!

Morning!
It is still morning, right??
It must be close to lunch b/c I am hungry!
It's so pretty out today. Bright blue sky, sun, cool, dry. Just lovely. Hoping to rope the people into a walk today...we always get side tracked somehow!
What's everyone up to this weekend?
I know we'll do something out tomorrow but we're not sure what.
I have to return most of my Lands End order to Sears. Did I tell you about those dumb pants?
I wish we could have today's weather every single day. It was so perfect!

Hai Edie So glad to see a friendly face around here. I keep refreshing thinking someone has to wake up soon. LONG Saturday today. Bleh!
I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. No plans. Usual housework. We're bbq'ing teriyaki beef and chicken coconut kabobs tonight.
I'm making soup tomorrow, hoping it's going to rain.
Monday I have a SS dentist appt. I have to have a cleaning and a consult on that root fracture. I hope it's not terribly expensive. I'm sure it will be rediculous by the time I'm done.
Are you making that gnocchi soup?? I'm hopping on a plane now!

I Hate low rise pants in the back...even ones that Aren't low rise if the a s s isn't Just perfect they pull down, I think because my butt is so round it needs more fabric. I am not saying this in a bad way, I just know I have a round butt and pants are made for a straighter body style usually.
Maria and I were just talking about this today. We both have pretty round butts and it's so hard to find pants that fit right and that doesn't let your underwear show when you're sitting down or bending over. Annoying!

Watch the video to see how easy!
They were soft and good.
YUM!
I had a mini red velvet cupcake at the game today. It was homecoming and they had a big tent with food that you were supposed to get tickets for, but we were able to go in for free since Maria's a coaches wife. Burgers, mac & cheese, baked beans, cupcakes, and a beer tent!

I think I'm giving up on Outsourced. I've tried watching both of the episodes that have aired, but it's just not that funny. There are enough other shows to watch that I'll still have plenty to keep me busy even if I let that one go.
So far, The Event and Hawaii 5-0 are my favorite new shows. I'm liking My Generation too, though I still have to watch the episode from this past week.

Did you know they make Jalapeno Cheetos? I saw them for the first time today and had to try them. They're pretty good, though I think I like regular Cheetos better.

That is so annoying. You know what I say. Alterations! Alterations! Alterations! Clothes off the rack are just a starting point!

Yes, a girl at work loves those. I tried them, and I'm more of an original gal.

I know, but when I can barely afford clothes off the rack, alterations just really can't happen. I've had three things altered in my life - two bridesmaid dresses and a pair of pants that my mom hemmed.

I decided today that clothes at Target are just not made for people with hips. I found a lot of cute things for work on the clearance racks, but none of them fit. I know I need to lose weight, but most of those things were the size I currently wear in clothes from other stores and even if I lost 20 pounds, they still wouldn't have fit right with my butt and hips. Stupid. If I had been able to get everything I tried on, I would have gotten two dresses, 3 skirts, and a shirt for about $60.

Oh man, I just read that My Generation got canceled already. Why the heck don't they give these shows a chance?? Honestly, no show ABC can come up with is going to get great ratings in that time slot because it's up against Community and 30 Rock, Bones, and Vampire Diaries, which all have strong showings. They should have given it a few more weeks at least.

Hai Jess!
Yep, for dinner tomorrow. I'm excited, but nervous. I've never made anything like it before. Not even homemade chicken noodle.
I didn't even know what kind of cream to buy at the store. Dumb. I had to ask another lady standing by the cooler what the difference was between whipping cream, heavy whipping cream and half & half.
I have 2 recipes, one's lighter and said h&h, the other heavy cream. Then when I saw the 'whipping' cream on the container I was totally thrown off. I worried that it would be sweetened.

I can't wait to hear how it turns out!
Are you making the recipe with the h&h or the cream? I'm convinced it's a marketing thing to label some creams just heavy cream and others heavy whipping cream. I think it's all the same stuff.

I went ahead and got the heavy cream. For 2 reasons, I think I want to try it with the original ingredients. Then modify it later if I don't exactly like it.
Second, the cheapest one was the store brand. And it was the heavy cream. LOL. Cheap won out.

Don't speak such evil! It's been a long week without you.
Thanks!
I've hated not being able to keep up with things. The last few days I was at least able to skim the thread at night, but for like a week and a half before that I barely read a thing. I don't like missing out on stuff going on in your lives.

Cheap usually wins out for me too!

Speaking of ingredients. I checked my store for King Arthur flour. They do have it, but it's twice the price of the name brand and 3x the generic store brand.
The same sized package (5 lb?) in KA was 4.99. Gold Medal brand (that I grew up with) was 2.69. Kroger brand was on sale 2 for 3.00. CRAZY!

I sold some more of my stuff on here. I think I've sold all but two or three of my PTI sets at this point. With everything I sold over the past few days I made another $140 or so. That's my fun money for Orlando!
Unfortunately, I think I'm just about out of money-making items to sell on here. The rest of my stamping stuff that's left doesn't seem to be of much interest.

I feel like I've been blabbering my face off trying to keep the thread going.
I think alot of people are busy lately.

Yup, I'm all about the store brand flour. My baked goods are always delicious with it, so I don't see any reason to spend more money for the "good" brands.
Gold Medal was what my mom always bought growing up to.

Wow, that's some good $$. Are the leftovers worth a big lot sale on ebay?

Thank you for holding down the fort!
I'll do my best to pop on when I can this week, but I know it's going to be a crazy one trying to get everything in a good place before I go on vacation. Maria's checking to see if our timeshare has wi-fi so we can bring a laptop, but even with that, I'll be mostly MIA that week since we'll be at the parks all day and will probably crash into bed after long days walking around in the sun!

I'm going to try and see what I can get on there. I've been so spoiled by selling things on here though. It's so easy. No taking pictures, no auction listings to create, no waiting for auctions to end, no fees.
It's all so quick on here too! I listed stuff Thursday night, people contacted me that night and yesterday morning, and I received payments for everything by this morning. I love it!

Arrrgghhhh! LOL
It'll be like when you go home for the holidays. I have to work and miss my peeps all day.
BTW---are your parents settled yet? Is there a plan for holidays? Like where you'll sleep?

I haven't actually talked to them yet. Thursday was the closing on both places and I got a text from my mom Thursday night saying she was bored with no cable or internet yet. I think that was a hint to call her but I was just too tired. I should call tomorrow and see how they're doing.
They have a pullout couch that was going up in the loft on their second floor, so I think Tyler and I will most likely share that when we go for holidays. Not ideal because there's no privacy and it's all open so anyone awake and moving around downstairs will wake us up. Or, my mom said maybe my dad can sleep in her room with her while we're there so Ty and I can share his room, or one of us will take his bed and one will take the pullout.

I'm still in bed, being lazy. I should go to the gym, but I just don't feel like it. I do need to drag myself up and shower soon and go grocery shopping and try my luck at Marshall's to see if they've got any shorts left.
Then I'll probably watch football here for a little while and then head over to Flipside for the 4:00 games. And that's about the extent of my plans for the day!

Went to the football game, which they lost, which sucks. I am really starting to get worried about Josh and Kevin's jobs. Maria and I get so defensive when anyone in the crowd criticizes the coaches. They can only do so much with players that just aren't good!

UGH!
That is rough. I hope it all works out for them.
Have you tried the online stores - Lands End has tons in the clearance - or do you want to try them on?
How about any resale stores near you?
Not only will they have them on clearance but whatever you buy won't fit you next year so it won't matter what you pick up for this trip.
