My house is a pit and the in-laws come back into town on Monday. So, guess what that means? They will eventually come here and see how I've been slacking off since they left at the end of March.

That or just plain stupid? Think of the house you could own? And, it would last much longer than the memory of the wedding will... or, as Heidi said, probably the marriage itself!
Barb i don't think that makes you cheap in any way.
I think it's smart to be frugal. I'm not saying have a cheap a&& wedding but it's just obscene what people pay for ONE day.

I totally agree... I just can't imagine it.... Oh well, I love what I can afford to do and appreciate it...

He does, Barb. It's the weirdest thing. I can throw out the tiniest piece of paper and he will miss it and tell me exactly where he left it. We have a deal. He either keeps his room neat by cleaning it occasionally, or I get my turn and I get to toss whatever I want. He had his chance the other day to fix that mess and he didn't take it. So, I went in with the wastebasket.

The boys have simple chores...put their school stuff away, clear their dishes, make their beds (when there's time). But, they need more responsibility. They're both good at cleaning up their messes when they are ordered to do so. I just wish they would be better at it on their own without my nagging. Luckily, when they do clean, they don't need my supervision. They know what needs to be done and they just do it. Too bad they don't do it more often.

I get really tired of saying the same things over and over.
Turn off the light, put your milk in the sink or in the fridge when you're done and many more.
Last weekend I found so many things UNDER Kate's bed that Tom had to take over in there b/c I was too frustrated.

Well, Luke really is artistic and creative. I love that about him, so I am trying to make peace with the fact that his passion for creating things comes with a price.
I've decided that Luke should go into Research & Development when he grows up. He has the ability to visualize something and then pull the tools together to create it and make it work. It's a gift. I have the ideas but usually have no clue how to go about doing what I envision.

That is pretty cool!
I can't visualize 3d things. I can't make them work in my head...

Edie..you can have some of my housecleaning if you want to keep busy and not be bored. I am going out of my mind trying to keep up with the amount of junk in this house. I swear, it's like shoveling in a blizzard. I'm ready to just sign myself up for an episode of hoarders and let it all go.

Just marking my spot. It was a busy morning. Woke up a little late, had to get Jax in his costume for his Halloween Harvest Party at school.
Dropped him off. Came home for a short while and then headed back to see him and his class parade around in their costumes. Rich sneaked out of work to come see him too.
Now we are home. Gonna do lunch. I have a basket of laundry that needs to be put away, dishes in the dishwasher that are clean, and Jax and I are making cupcakes. HE POOPED! Finally! Yay! (sorry for TMI) LOL!
I'm picky about chicken salad for the mayo reason. Like with tuna, I can only tolerate a little bit, just enough to lightly bind it together.
I'll tell ya - those rotisserie chickens in Stop & Shop smell so freakin good! I've never bought one, but I'm tempted to every time I walk by them!
My Fred Meyers has those...I grab them and C and I eat on it for 2 days, then I pick all the meat off the rest of it and freeze it for a Chicken Noodle Casserole some time later.. MMMM

Rotisserie chickens are the best. Easy. Yummy. And food for plenty. The kids and I love to have that on nights when Steve won't be home.
