If it's that bad, then it's just as well you stay at home.

Temperatures here aren't suppose to get above 30 tomorrow. If that's the case, there will STILL be no one going anywhere. Everything that thaws today will refreeze as soon as it gets dark.

I suspect that we won't have church tomorrow night.

How fun. Glad you got in some more play time. Is Jaydin ready to focus more on her studies or are you done for the day?

Now that the installation is all done (and I'm not going back to work), I'm thinking i'll run up to Michael's and look at some beads to finish up the bracelet for my sis's watch. Maybe I'll find something to use a 40% coupon on.

Bought some books on Amazon today and only had to pay $9.88 for 7 of them. Finally used my birthday gift cards from my DD's.

Oh, good heavens, no!! She's only 5 - and not even suppose to be in kindergarten. I have a list of what she needs to get done. That usually takes a couple of hours - TOPS. I don't dive back into it with her later. I don't want her to hate learning! She got everything done ... she just didn't focus well while doing it - and we may have just skipped the rest after lunch if she had not finished before lunch.

The beauty of homeschooling. I can work it to benefit my child.

I saw on the news this morning that Atlanta has 7 or 8 plows. Not many to clear everything that needs to be cleared. I also heard that they were going to borrow some from surrounding areas.

Two "Witch and Wizard" series books.
Spun by Sorcery (3rd of a series)
Safe Haven - Nicholas Sparks.
Snowmen at Night (This is for coloring with Copics)
Also got DVD Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

The Geek tech today told me I should get a blu ray. He said he was surprised that they didn't give me one with my TV. He said lots of times they do and that I should go back and tell them that I was supposed to get one and didn't and they might go ahead and give me one. Not sure I'll do that, but I'm thinking of getting one now with the big HD TV.

The Michael's I went to is in a shopping center that has a Costco. I've been thinking of joining because they carry some things that I like that other stores don't carry, so I went ahead and joined up. Actually, they said that I was already a member since 2001, so just had to renew my membership.

Got some beads for the watch bracelet. I think I'll look at that after while. I may have to undo it all and restring them incorporating these beads.

I was good, I only bought some $1 ribbon and 2 packs of metal trims for my stamping. Got the beads and also bought a basket to sit on my counter to hold all my vitamin bottles. The one I use now is too small.

Glad you're all set, Maggie. I don't know as I'd be overly concerned about the Blue Ray... unless you plan on buying a bunch of Blue Ray DVD's. From what I understand, your standard DVD's won't play in it. JMO. But then I still own Cassette Players and VHS players LOL - AND still use them hehe

I asked him about that and he said that I would be able to play my regular DVD's on the Blu Ray player, it just doesn't work the other way. Also he said the price was coming down, but for now I probably won't. I"m fine with the one that I have for now.

Gonna go set up the Wii Fit Plus and balance board and see if I can use it. Then I'm going to get a shower and since I'm not planning to go up to church today (too cold out), I'm going to maybe play in my stamp room.

I've been through the mini several times and am just not seeing a lot. I really like the Sew Suite stuff but not sure how much I'd use it except for maybe scrapping my fair items. The Glimmer Paper is pretty... but I wonder if we'll get color options in the future. I think it would be awesome in Green or rich blue. I also keep looking at the Build A Blossom set. That would have been nice when I was putting the Baby Swap together instead of buying flowers, ya know? I did see a cute card at Carla's blog today with the cupcake punch. I also liked the Botanical Gazette DP for my garden journal.

Okay, maybe there's more in there than I thought LOL

Nice job on the trip to Michaels, Maggie.
Nice surprise at Costco. We don't have them here. But I am a Sam's Club member. My sister would shoot me if I wasn't, I think hehe
Your book purchases all sound like good reads. Now to find the time....

Well I didn't accomplish what I'd hoped today but did get a lot done that wasn't on the list. Strip/ aired/ rotated mattress/ remade made, vacuumed the bedroom, 4 other loads of laundry, dishes all done for a change, sugar-free tapioca fluff cooling, most of the BD/ Ann list reconstructed and 4-days worth of wood pitched down the hill.

Enjoying supper, fluffy coffee and getting ready to power write for a couple hours.

Yep. Got up to about 35 or 36 today, so some started melting. Temps will go down to 19 tonight, though .... and not get above freezing tomorrow. Schools closed again. Some offices reopening tomorrow. I20 (that's Interstate 20 ..... ) is closed in certain places and only one lane is open in other areas. It's kind of a big deal down here. No church since there's no school. I won't be going anywhere until at LEAST Thursday. I love being home.

I'm glad it's bad there. Hope you get to Peoria soon.

They are borrowing salt/sand trucks, but not plows. Yes, they have 8 plows - heard that earlier - but that doesn't touch a city of this size.

I got my card done for Sunday's blog hop. That's good. Lots to do while I sit around tonight. A couple of blog posts to do, some photos to edit, and some sewing books to look over.

I have heard a few people say that they do not think much of the blue ray...Actually Randy said he was looking at two tvs, side by side onewas playing a blue ray dvd ...but he really did not see the difference... maybe on a larger screen...I do not know...

I doubt we will be trying one so I do not have to worry about it lol

Nice surprise at Costco. We don't have them here. But I am a Sam's Club member. My sister would shoot me if I wasn't, I think hehe
Your book purchases all sound like good reads. Now to find the time....
Safe Haven was good... but then ALL of his books are...

That would have been nice when I was putting the Baby Swap together instead of buying flowers, ya know? I did see a cute card at Carla's blog today with the cupcake punch. I also liked the Botanical Gazette DP for my garden journal.

Okay, maybe there's more in there than I thought LOL
I like the Glitter paper, but it's only 2 sheets for $3.95. That's a lot, but I really like it. I also like the Take a Spin and Game Spinners, the Build a Blossom and the Blossom Punch, Thanks for Caring, Bring On the Cake sets. I like the Springtime Vintage paper and fabric and the rosettes that go with it. I like the Sew Suite, but don't think I'd use that as much. I also like the Botanical Gardens dp, the Windowpanes, and the Framed Tulips emobossing folder.

Thanks, I thought I did good.

Just talked to me DD. They love Costco and said that they have the lowest markup on big ticket items than anyone. Her DH is in retail and he knows what everyone sells and for how much and she said that is the first place they go to when they are looking for something big.

I never have enough time to read. Mostly I do a little before I go to bed.

I'm glad it's bad there. Hope you get to Peoria soon.
That is the one good thing about snow days. Only problem here is we NEVER have closed our offices when we've had snow. Of course, we've never had enough to make an accumulation of any amount, so we're always open. Even last year I remember it was snowing so hard when I went to work and kept it up for a bit, but not enough to do anything and our office was open.

I have a question for you. My DD didn't know the answer because she didn't set hers up and they've had it for a few years now. I need to reconcile the Balance Board to the Wii. It says to insert the Balance Board disc to do this. I don't have a balance board disc. Are they meaning the Wii Fit Plus disc?

Exactly, and I have other cupcake stamps that I can use, so didn't think that was worth it.

I think I'm going to go take my shower now and wait for Shell to answer my question before i get started with the Wii. I tried calling my other DD but there was no answer. I may give her another try.

I doubt we will be trying one so I do not have to worry about it lol

At this point, if you want to buy a DVD player, that's really the only choice you have.

Ice will do that .... Just shuts everything down ... completely.
