It's an entertainment center, Maggie. Sue left it behind when she left home the first time. (She didn't want to take it apart hehe)
I designed the drawers and Bob made them for me. I spread out all my supplies, measured how shallow the drawers needed to be. The width/ depth was determined by the sections of the entertainment center. The stamp drawers for example are the depth of 1 layer of stamps and I have each theme in it's own drawer. Some double up like Fall/ Halloween or Easter/ Valentine's Day, etc.
You might have missed them before but for a sneak peek at the insides of a couple drawers you can go into my gallery. Pg 2 - last pic is 1 (of 3) fiber drawers and then top of pg. 3 shows a sample of the stamp drawers and the embellishment drawers.
I didn't do too much to this itself except putting stuff into containers and labeling everything so it 'looks' nicer.
On the paper shelf where the 3-drawer unit is at, when I get A's album(s) done, I'll have room for MORE PAPER! hehe
That's great Kelly. Wonderful that Bob was able to help you with making those drawers. It's great to be able to customize your room just for you.
Goodness, where is everyone this evening? I hope everyone's okay.
It has been sleeting here on and off all day. The temp is now 32 degrees... 8 degrees warmer than it was when I went to lunch! What's up with that? I didn't realize it had gotten slick til I took Lady out. Woops! I've salted the deck down so it won't be bad when we go out at bedtime.. no more surprises.
Bob just got into Lemont. He's going to Menards for duct work then driving as far as Lincoln. Said he'll stay there tonight then drive on home tomorrow. I feel better knowing he's not trying to drive all the way. He just wants out of Chicago so he doesn't have that traffic to deal with tomorrow morning. From Lincoln, he'll only be about 6 hours away.
I've been doing some cleaning up around here - putting odds and ends away before I'm gone. Then my Nephew-in-law and my Great Nephew came over and I walked them around and showed them where everything was and what needed to be done.
Came out here and got my bills up current so that's all settled. Then one of my GF's from church called to let me know that she and her DH are moving in about 3 weeks. Luckily, they are not moving very far so we will still be able to keep in touch.
and that is about half of what I used to make
I do not need to make as many trays or boxes this year... some of these are new...so I am anxious to see how they turn out...I have a new recipe for lemon ones too ...I really want to try those !
He's the one who told me. Sue called him and had him talk to the mechanic at Firestone and between the 3 of them made the decision she shouldn't take it out on the road until it was fixed.
Yes, he was just south of St. Louis - in Naples - when he made crew change. So he had to make that trip to Chicago. Luckily, he did get a good nap in before he went on watch so he has some 'up' time left in him. He's confident about getting to Lincoln but said he's going to wander around Menards for awhile and let the Chicago traffic die down before he headed out.
supper is done, time for dishes...I am thinking an early night with a hot bath... and finish a book...then a full day tomorrow...I just do not have energy at night any more
I was printing pictures to send to my brothers and dad but my picture mate ran out of ink...Randy is going to try to get me a refill pack and bring it up tomorrow...We usually order them on line...I thought I had another one... oh well...
I want to get some packing done - at least I want to put aside the clothes that I want to take. I need to kinda have a list of what I'm going to wear each day and then probably take one or two more tops in case I need them.
Early night for me tonight, too. I seem to have a nerve pinching in my lower back. Making my hips ache. Just ready for Oreos and milk, then some Dr. Quinn while I"m curled up under the freshly washed afghan
Hope that ache goes away after a relaxing night. Oreos sound good.
I had so much food today at the office, I skipped dinner tonight.

the second holiday dinner is here for DH's daughters & families on the 26th. I am making barbeques; cheesy potatoes; coleslaw and a pumpkin dessert. So far none of them have offered to bring any food.
the third holiday dinner is here for my 3 brothers & families. I am making prime rib; baked potatoes; a baked corn casserole; 7 layer salad, rolls and pumpkin & banana cream pies.
DH picked the menu for the 26th. We only host every 4 yrs, but that dinner is for 14 this year.
The other two meals are starting to be a tradition. Last year for the dinner with my brothers & families, I had 16 people here. This is the only get together we have during the year unless we have a wedding or funeral in the family. So I guess that makes it special for them as well as for me. I haven't had any of them turn down the invitation yet. I think I will probably continue doing it for as long as I physically can. I know my Mom sure appreciates it.
hello again... all three meals sound yummy... Sure wish some would offer to help...but as you say, it is a very special thing to do...I hope all three days do wonderful

Sounds like some really great meals you've got planned. I can understand why you want to do that and if you like doing it, then for sure you should. Families are what it's all about anyway, so it's great that you are getting your together even if at various times.

I trimmed pictures and have my sister in laws brag books done...I need to put what I have printed into daddy;s album...I sure hope I can get a refil pack for my picture mate...if not daddy will get an I O U for more pictures...
my bath felt wonderful, I am ready to go sit and read... I might wrap my brothers gifts, not sure...
I think it's working, but the healing is causing some other problems.
Ugh! Sorry Shell, if you're taking an antibiotic and it's causing tummy problems, do you take Acidolphilus along with it to put the good bacteria back in your system?

Glad you're getting some things done. I think all my projects are finished that I need to do before I leave. It's just the laundry and packing now.
We won't be having duck for supper this weekend. Whatever got Quackers came back for Milk last night
On a brighter note...
Sue is not looking forward to bed sharing with Adrian. Adrian is a bed hog -as are most toddlers hehe. I can sleep with her no problem but Kassie trained me years ago and I adore that snuggle time with Adrian. Nothing like opening your eyes in the morning to either seeing a sleeping child or to see her awake, wide brown eyes watching you and see the smile spread across her face when she knows you've caught her. And then there's that softly whispered ' hi grandma'.
So I'm going to text Sue this morning and see if she wants the air mattress downstairs in the office (which means the filing cabinets don't get put into place just yet) and I'll sleep up here with A.
Oh, how sad.
I know you will enjoy your Adrian time. That will be wonderful for both of you.
Wonder how Shell is feeling this morning. I hope the medicine is helping. Maybe she's getting some much needed rest.
I wasn't much better. I feel a little better tonight, but one of the white patches in my throat feels like an ulcer (I've had mouth ulcers since I was a small child), and it happens to be way back in my throat right under my left ear. It is enormously painful, and there is little that will give relief. I couldn't sleep much last night, and at one point, I couldn't sleep due to ear pain.
I get like that in the winter also. My skin dries out so bad as well as my nose membranes. I try not to have the house too warm and dry.
Yeah, he had another one tonight - 3 in 3 nights. I'm watching him closely on those. Our house doesn't get heated above 68 and is 62 at night. I may have him spray his nose with some saline spray.
Sleeping arrangements all figured out - the girls aren't coming. Apparently the ball joint was going out on the Neon so Sue had to spend almost $600 getting that fixed. They had to schedule it for tomorrow. Of course, she still has to get the plates taken care of on the car and she can't get time off now until after first of year... and Bob's only week off in Jan. is the very last week. Pray for decent driving weather because the plates expire the end of Jan. and she has to get them renewed.
I'm sorry to hear that they aren't headed your way.
This is a pic of the entire revamped entertainment center. The drawers on the left are all (from top to bottom): adhesives (1) letters tiles (1) embellishments (3) applicators (1) punches (1) embossing (1) inks (1) scrap Blk/ Wh CS (1) scrap color cs (1) scrap paper (1) Ephemera scraps (1)
The right side is all of my stamps by them except for the bottom for drawers. From the bottom up the deepest drawer is for big tools like my empunchlar and extra heat gun, then the next 3 are all fibers.
I've never had room on here for accessories before so I must have done something right. The center shelf on the bottom is the magazine holders I made to hold tutorial books by category.
The next shelf up is the magazines, then the next shelf all of my paper, filed in keepers by theme. The 3-drawer unit on that shelf is all paper, embellishments and keepsakes to do Adrian's book(s)

We were gone all day. We had some shopping stuff to do before church tonight. Then, when we got to church, the streets started icing. Argh. We finally left around 7 to head home. It was slow going, but I was careful, and we made it safely.

Those are definitely worth doling. I hope you enjoy them, Sue. I hate that your dh's family hasn't offered to do any of the food, though. Do you think your dh told them that they didn't need to bring anything???

I am now! A friend here recommended that I take it. I'd never heard of it, but got some (and started it) today.
I'm home tomorrow - thank goodness - and Friday. I'm really ... REALLY ... hoping for some good sleep tonight. I woke about every hour last night. I'm really worn out.
If I feel like it, I'm going to clean, straighten, and reorganize Jaydin's room tomorrow. I need to get that done before Christmas. She has a LOT of stuff that just needs to go.
Hope ya'll have a great night tonight. I will check in tomorrow. Please pray that I feel better. I know this will pass ... really, I do. I just feel like I'm such a waste to my family like this.

Oh Shell, that sounds so painful...I am so sorry you have to go through this... Is there any thing you can do for it?? or just have to wait until the antibioctic kicks in full force?/

even with the temps that low it can still be dry... a nose saline should help...or a vaporizer or humidifier...

glad to hear you are home safe...
