Speaking from experience, I'm betting that because you're jumping in to do it, she feels guilty - like she should be doing it. It's taken me awhile to work through that with my MIL. I even still deal with it with Bob sometimes. If he starts doing something when I'm 'loafing' I feel like I should be doing it so I get up and take over.
I think she knows how I feel. I think that I'll just do whatever I can and whatever she wants the kids to do, then they can do that. I'm not going to stress about it. I think you're probably right to a certain degree, but it's only to help her and give her a break.

It's suppose to be in the upper 40's today but I'm wondering. We're at about 40 degrees, wind is blowing a decent clip and it feels cold in the house - but not enough to kick in the thermostat. ::: sigh ::::

Oh well, I'll be in the toasty kitchen baking cookies
We've been out running errands all afternoon and just got home. Left here at 12:30 and dropped Amanda off at a lady's house that is straightening her hair. She does it in her home. She has very thick hair and very curly. It takes forever daily for my dd to flatiron it, so she set up this appointment to have it chemically straightened. It has taken about 4 1/2 hours to do it. I know Amanda is dying having to sit there all that time.

The rain has gotten worse during the day and we were out in it a lot. The Mall is an outdoor one, so we were running from store to store. We did first go to Target where I was able to get most all of the things I still needed.

Now I need to get all the things out that I had delivered and get them wrapped. Might do that tonight.

DD just went to pick up Amanda and Tucker (the dog). She takes Tucker to a doggie day care sometimes where he loves to play with the other dogs and gets a good workout especially these days when he can't go out for a walk.

Oh gosh, sorry. It seems that it's always something doesn't it. One thing after another.

I just googled that Shell, and it can be serious and it is contagious. Hope it clears up soon.

A friend of mine gave me some venison sausage, and it's so good. I wish I knew someone down home that went hunting that I could get some venison from. I love it.

I heard about that, but no way that we'll be seeing it here also.

Just heard that there have been some power outages around since early this morning. Glad that wasn't around here.

Think I'll go dig out the tape and scissors and get some gifts wrapped. Tomorrow I'll get busy on the things that I need to finish that I brought. While at Target today I bought a variety of M&M's and Hershey Kisses to put in some of the tins that I made.

Oh, another place we went to while out was the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to get some covered apples for some of my dd's friends that she wanted to drop off. We're supposed to go back about Thursday to get some for our Holiday. While there we got a couple extras. I had a raspberry truffle, my dd got a mint one, and my DGD Emily got a chocolate covered Ding Dong! There also had chocolate covered Twinkies! The apples are really good.

Take care of yourself, Maggie. Stay warm and dry.

That's a great option for them.

Thanks. It's quite a ritual around here with all the stuff we have to do right now.

Yep. VERY. He has to keep them covered if at all possible and wash, wash, wash.

I think I'm going to get ready for bed now, though. We've gotten to bed late for the past 2 nights, and I need some extra sleep. OH! Last night, I slept LYING DOWN for the first time in a couple of weeks. I've had to prop myself up with about 7 pillows because lying down hurt my throat and ear. MUCH better now. SOOOOOOOOOO happy about that.

well we are to have some patches of freezing rain tonight and early tomorrow so I will not be taking myself any where... if it clears off Wally and I might go get the groceries tomorrow evening...Then Wednesday I can just go finish my few things...
So I hope tomorrow I can do some laundry, bake and wrap...just change the schedule around a bit... As long as I get everything done that is all that matters, not when I get it done..

I sat and watched a movie on lifetime... not sure if I will watch the other one... I am tired, not sure how after my nap...but I may just go up to bed...

Hope everyone is having a joyous and wonderful holiday season! It will be 81 degrees here today and not feeling alot like Christmas! Do have the tree and stockings hung, but didn't decorate the front gate or much on the outside of the house this year.

Can I ask all of you to say a few prayers for one of our past 4-H kids. Maizie was coming home after her first semester at college and was in a terrible car accident. She was pulling her horse trailer and luckily her horse and dog did not sustain any major injuries as far as I know. Maizie however is in a coma, even tho she's responsive, she still has a long way to go...please keep her and her family in your prayers for me.

Now on a brighter note...I am almost ready for Christmas with just a few more gifts to get...Suzy and Jack will be here this evening, Mike and Hunter will be home tomorrow from a trip to west Texas and we will all be enjoying the holiday season together.

Only one more day of work this week and off next week except for rabbit validation. Need to tatoo those bunny ears for the stock show...they don't really enjoy that much.

But then a whole week of doing me things...well, hopefully!
