PSFs: Pals, Sister, Friends - Where the Fun Never Ends
Ok - corny - but the best I could come up with. I realize we aren't sisters in the true sense of the word, but given all we've been through, you all qualify in my book.
Here's the next thread.

Love it Teresa! Thank you for starting the new thread.
Hello everyone - and Happy Hump Day.
Sending extra (hugs) to Sam & Chris... been thinking about you all day.
Nice to see you both Teresa and Renee... how are you both?

For those not on FB...we unexpectantly had to put Smokey to sleep last night after 3.5 hours at ER vet. We are devastated to lose him. I had no idea we would be making that decision last night. He had more medical complications than we knew of.
I'll get caught up later. I need to go to bed after getting very little sleep last night.

Ohhhhh...I'm so very sorry to hear this. It's so hard to lose a fur-baby. We just lost both of our ferrets within one month...Kira on feb. 2 and Rosie on march 3. They were both 9 years old and it's very common for the second to die of a broken heart after a cage mate (sibling) passes. I feel your sorrow...HUGS to you....
Other than that... Just busy...taxes, work, kids, house, volunteering. The usual.
Hoping to get most of it finished up today then I'll be able to focus on DD's graduation.
Speaking of which...I have just under an hour to get the housework done before I go into the school.
Later everyone.... Lots of love and hugs to all.......

I'm especially thinking of Sam and Chris. I'm so very sorry and I know that your hearts must be hurting.
Thanks to Teresa for starting the new thread. I think the title is perfect. I would have never thought that I would go from no sisters, to having 23 sisters. Please don't expect Christmas gifts. haha
It's a rainy morning here in Cincinnati. It would have been a perfect morning to stay curled up under the blankets. But alas, here I am on the mountain. Luckily I got a lot of work done yesterday, so it's more like a little hill.
Have a great day and I'll check in with you later.
Oh - for those of you that get PTI stamps, I did a blog post about how I will be storing mine in the future. I'm going to eventually change all of them to the new system.
Tracey, have you bounced back to normal? I was giggling at the funnel cake talk.
Paulette and Renee, good to see you!
Pam, kill the hill.
Staci, a brown out is just very reduced power. Like the clocks have enough power to blink, but not to keep time. Lights that work (only CF yesterday) are really dim. Power was fully restored by 8. Good thing. DH got play his game, and I didn't have to smack him for pouting and whining.
Sammy, dear girl........I'm so, SO sorry. I know your hurt and I hurt for you. Please know I'm praying for you. Feel free to call or text or email if you need to talk.
Which makes me think, how many of you have iPhones with iMessage?? I love iMessage. Free texting.....so fun and handy. I know I've texted with some of you in the past, but that was back before the iMessage iOS update.
Teresa, I think the new title and thread are perfect. Thanks for starting it.
Thanks Girls. We are adjusting. I keep expecting him to be sitting there or when I got my ice cream tonight I looked for him. It was the only people food he would eat.
Renee - I'm so sorry about your ferrets.
Laura - So glad to hear the power came back on in full. I dread the blackouts in the summer at least we don't have the rolling ones anymore but the transformers still blow up from the heat and load.
Dawn - I never really knew what exactly iMessaging was! Other than it is blue instead of green - LOL!
Anyone have big plans for the weekend? I have no idea what we are doing if anything.
Well, it's blue texting instead of green and it creates a 'thread' of texts if you text to more than one person and the whole group can see each others' replies and reply back. But basically, it's just free texting from iPhone to iPhone like always....except it's now blue. It IS kind of fun though.
Dawn, I have iMessage. I thought of you yesterday, because DH left the TV on when he left after lunch. I totally got sucked into KSU/Baylor basketball.
Well I figure if we can't be neighbors IRL, this will have to do
Well, if you would just start packing... We gussied the 2800 sq ft guest quarters up for you here at Sneden's Landing. Hurry up and come before MIL tries to visit!

*rushing home to start packing*
Dawn - I've got iMessage too -- I {heart} my iPhone. I remember the day I texted Laura and it turned blue - I was like "YAY! You have an iPhone, and iMessage!" Then I told my SIL to update her OS so I could iMessage with her too - lol. I don't have unlimited texting (I know, stone age) so I'm cheap with my texts!! HA! It's like free shipping, why pay, if you don't HAVE to?? I know you understand.
Sally - DITTO. One thing going for me is that my ever-moody office mate is out today...so at least I don't have to beware the mood swings!

I just bought a new iPhone this weekend (Verizon). Is the iMessage that little green icon? Or is it something that I need to download? Or am I just way off base with my thinking? (No comments from the peanut gallery)

I just got a new iPhone too (DS is disappointed that I've gone "over to the dark side" - we're an android family). No idea what iMessage is or that it existed.

Essentially -- you just go into the Messages app and if you're texting with other iPhones, the text message is in a blue bubble, instead of green, and it says 'iMessage' up at the top in little gray letters...sometimes if it has trouble going through, it will go as a text, and then it turns green, but more often than not, it goes through as an iMessage (=free text)

Thanks to Dawn -- I found out how to get cute little smilies and emoticons in my messages on my iPhone (she pinned it on Pinterest)
If you want to be able to type smilies and hearts and such, do the following:
Go to Settings
Then General
Then Keyboard
Then International Keyboards
Then Add New Keyboard
Then Select 'Emoji'
Now, when typing, you will see a little 'globe' image on the lower left - that is the 'international keyboard' symbol. It will toggle to the smilies and hearts and flowers and such. Happy playing!
Thanks Tracey and Dawn! I just got a new iphone last night and I'm trying to learn all this new stuff! I just sent Marc a bunch of random fun pictures! LOL!
Hi all! This week has been way too buy during the day, school has been going late and I'm ready for the weekend! Tomorrow I teach- but tomorrow night is a fun girls night! I'm so excited! I'm in charge of bringing the depends and kleenex! lol!

Now normally, I would think you meant something COMPLETELY different...but given the context of the conversation -- I will happily contribute that I did the same exact thing when I figured that out, and sent Nick a bunch of random messages with little pictures... lol
Renee--it was nice to see you popping in! SO sorry about the ferrets! I'll never forget their cute little folding furry bodies! Good luck with all the graduation stuff!
Samantha--more {{{hugs}}} for you and Chris.
DH and I are enjoying an evening by ourselves--such a nice treat!

Love yourself. You are worth it.
Well, I have an iPhone, but my text messages sent to DH's iPhone are in a green bubble and the same for him. I also tried looking for the keyboard, and its not in my list. Wonder if its a feature of the newer iPhones? Mine is a few years old?
Anyway, we have a house full of 11 yo boys for the night. DS's first sleep over - hoping it goes well.
Not much else going on here - need to get some stamping done - hopefully soon.

Jenn, judging from what you are tasked with bringing, you have a very fun night with the girls planned tomorrow.
Agree with both of the above!
DH has the 3GS and his has it. I have the 4, but I don't know if it would have worked on my 3G that I had before.
Jenn - I'm sure you girls will have a GREAT time!
Sharon - hope you and DH are enjoying your evening alone!
Renee - I meant to say I'm sorry about Rosie and Kira I'm glad to see you popping in though - I've MISSED YOU!
Sam -- I get all SORTS of random photos... none naughty, thank goodness, but yeah, I think our DHs are very similar.
We went (I swear you guys must think I make this stuff up) but we went birthday present shopping tonight - HA! BOTH girls have friend's parties tomorrow. Then we stopped and had a slice of pizza on the way home. I just finished filling out our passport applications, did you know tomorrow is National Passport Day? yep. So we're off to the county clerk to get our Passports for our trip this Summer
Well, I've got a couple of birthday cards to make, so I'd better scoot. See you girls tomorrow!
Dawn, I have iMessage. I thought of you yesterday, because DH left the TV on when he left after lunch. I totally got sucked into KSU/Baylor basketball.
Awww.
Speaking of KSU........and therefore, my husband........tomorrow is our 11th anniversary. Bartley is currently out of town until tomorrow night late.....he's at the state high school basketball tournament, reffing. In fact, he's been assigned the boys final game tomorrow.....the biggest game of the entire year for the whole STATE and he's one of 3 officials working the game....out of thousands. Not only that, but he's the "referee" on the game (yes, I know they're all 'referees', but there's one guy that's the "R" meaning, the head official, and that's HIM!) To say that I'm proud of him is a huge understatement! To get to this particular game has been a goal of his for YEARS so we're feeling pretty blessed tonight. He just found out tonight after the semi-final round, about his game tomorrow. He's worked big games at the college level, but at the high-school level, this is the biggest game of his career.
So I'm cheering him on from home.....and we'll celebrate our anniv. on Sunday.
