Michigan Mania Magical Minglers Thread 89 Just About Time to Get in Line...

For the 2013 Mingle sign-ups that is!

News should be coming out soon. Yippeee!!!

vz5dzh 10-02-2012 06:08 AM

I need to fix my signature. I think I am a few threads behind.

Emma F 10-02-2012 06:08 AM

Hee hee, I managed to stay quiet long enough so as not to spoil your grand entrance to this thread!

Thanks, Lorien!

vz5dzh 10-02-2012 06:12 AM

Oh I got the fedex tracking for my new work laptop. Says it should be delivered today.

Emma F 10-02-2012 06:15 AM

I need to have a word with Cheri, and tell her to hurry up or we're getting a setter!!! Ha!

We were talking to Sarah about it last night and Roy suggested she look at other breeds but she said that once a Collie has your heart, he has you forever. We'll wait. It's killing me to wait. Especially, as it looks like Blondie reabsorbed her puppies (the roughs), so no puppies from her :(

vz5dzh 10-02-2012 06:16 AM

Any other news on what the toxin or virus might have been?

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:17 AM

Good morning, Minglers!

I'm sorry that Sarah getting another puppy has had a setback, Emma. :-(

Woohoo!

I bought a new laptop. How naughty is that?

The netbook has been getting slower and slower and slower, I think it's over 3 now and I have a ton of stuff crammed onto it.

I had QVC on the TV and they had this Dell 'special' ... it's a small one (14") but that's what I want for carrying it around the place.

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:22 AM

Emma, that sounds great! The next time I'm over Moe's way, I need her Brian to look at my netbook and see if we can speed it back up. I'd love to buy a new notebook but it's out of the question!

vz5dzh 10-02-2012 06:23 AM

Corey's laptop is slow now that he has CAD loaded on it for school. I want to get something for myself that I can load MDS on.

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:24 AM

I think I need a new alarm clock. Mine goes off at 6:30. I hit snooze and the next time it goes off is 7:06. I don't THINK I hit snooze three more times without realizing it.

April's owner (Ann) works in the path labs at U of M and so she very kindly offered to take the report in and show her team for ideas. This was the e:mail back :

One of our Doctors looked at the autopsy report and she says the cause
of death is one of those strange unknown types, just as the original
vet said. The most likely is an infection or toxin but the
mineralization takes time and would indicate that it most likely
occurred one month or more before the death. She said
it was one of those deaths that leaves the vets scratching their heads
and not being able to really tell what happened. Ann

So I guess the easy answer to that was 'no'. I don't think we'll ever find out. But it was a complete fluke so hopefully we won't ever experience that again.

Debra 10-02-2012 06:25 AM

Woohooo!!! Thanks Lorien!

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:25 AM

Ouch... CAD does slow a machine down. Do you already have MDS? (My pea-brain says "yes" but I don't remember for sure.)

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:26 AM

Hi, Debra! Seems like I haven't "seen" you in forever! How was the trip?

This is what I got. What swayed me was the 6 easy-payments. Not a huge chunk of change straight up. Lisa W, if I made a horrible mistake, please don't tell me!!! Although it hasn't shipped yet, so I can cancel.

The screen is small though (what I wanted).

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:27 AM

Emma, that must be hard. I would always be worrying about what might have happened and if it would happen again. :-(

Emma F 10-02-2012 06:31 AM

I have to get ready to go out in about 15 mins.

Time to squeeze in a last cuppa?

I think so!

Yeah, I had it on our desktop downstairs that is now toast.

I thought so. Glad I'm not totally toasted in the memory department!

MichelleGoodrich 10-02-2012 06:36 AM

Leadership meeting day. I have a ton to do. So, I'm going to be good, minimize this window, and get to work. I'll try to pop in later.

Hope everyone has a good morning! Emma, enjoy your visit with S and E. Still praying for E and her upcoming surgery.

juniperbarn 10-02-2012 06:36 AM

Good job, Lorien! Thanks for the new thread!

Emma, I can't see that link here at work, but Lisa helped me pick out a Dell laptop. So it must not be too horrible, lol! Mine's a 17" though. I love it. It's all speedy. I've not had a speck of trouble with it.
Oh, and that Downton prequel sounds heavenly! My Twitter timeline explodes every Sunday night with all these Brits talking about it. Makes me crazy. It sounds like Shirley is a hit.

juniperbarn 10-02-2012 06:37 AM

Hi and bye, Michelle.

Emma F 10-02-2012 06:39 AM

Yes, mum said Shirley is fabulous in it :)

Our desktop and Roy's laptop at home are both Dell, and we love them. I think this will be perfect for my desk in the basement.

juniperbarn 10-02-2012 06:39 AM

Emma, my first Dell I financed directly from Dell. I loved that. They had a build it online thing. This one I bought from Best Buy. It was pretty cheap.

I know, that's always going to be on our minds, but you can't live like that, can you!

Debra 10-02-2012 06:42 AM

Oops. I was on the phone and wasn't paying attention to the discussion. I am so sorry about that.

Debra 10-02-2012 06:43 AM

And then I forgot to refresh again. Good grief.

juniperbarn 10-02-2012 06:45 AM

Come on, Debra! Keep up!

Emma F 10-02-2012 06:45 AM

Did you drive through the night, Debra?

juniperbarn 10-02-2012 06:45 AM

I'm supposed to be planting soybeans but my boss just left for the day. As long as they're done by 4, lol!

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:50 AM

Morning!

Found you! Thanks for the new thread Lorien!

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:53 AM

Welcome back Debra!! I'm sure you had an excellent time and didn't miss us very much.
:)

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:56 AM

Took today off. FIL is having some back pain and other issues going on. Couldn't get an apt with his family dr til 4.30, and I won't be able to make it back to work by 6, when my co worker leaves, so I got someone to work from 6-9.

I'm thinking they might want some xrays or additional labs done while in Bad Axe. I did take him to the walk in clinic in Habor Beach over the weekend, and some of his lab work was questionable. Let's pray it's not at the worst end of the "what it might be" scale.

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:56 AM

I would love to have some Wembley snuggles, but I have Midnite, so I'll just scratch him behind the ears.

Debra 10-02-2012 06:58 AM

We did not drive through the night. Drove yesterday. Left at 9:30am and got home at 10:30 pm.

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:58 AM

All the leaves are changing colors around the house. I love this time of year!

Bright yellows, oranges, deep red, burnt orange!!! I wish it would be like this all year!

piccadillie 10-02-2012 06:59 AM

Debra you did pretty good getting home.

I would think it's hard on Jaclyn driving straight thru.

Debra 10-02-2012 07:01 AM

Jaclyn is great driving as long as she can eat and has her movies or nintendo ds.

Debra 10-02-2012 07:02 AM

Okay, I need to go. J doesn't have school today and needs help and then I have a class email to get out.
