Thanks, Kell!! :)

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:24 PM

Thanks Kel

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:24 PM

Just had to go read the other thread to play catch up...

Wow -- 4 years of chatting as CBC..... I originally came in the fall of 2007 to the PIF thread and remember many of you from way back then.

JenMarie 11-13-2012 05:25 PM

I was Fall of 07 to the PIFs as well... moved to ATL, GA Labor Day 2007 and didn't have our stuff for like 6 weeks...but I had a laptop and internet! ;)

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:33 PM

Hey Arlene :)

Hey Jen :)

misse336 11-13-2012 05:35 PM

You guys moved on me. Iroquois flip book and poster are finished and ready to turn in tomorrow - yeah!

mountainmom 11-13-2012 05:36 PM

Found you! Thanks, Kelly.

tamijo 11-13-2012 05:38 PM

awww I started in fall of 2007 also!

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:39 PM

Hey Stacy.....

Yes, I remember many of you from the original group. At that time, I know that Tami and I were running neck and neck with our numbers, and now she is sooo far ahead of me. LOL....

You were already as Chat Box Chicks that nasty Dec 2008 and Jan 2009 when I spent the 6 weeks in the hospital. Ya'll sent me beautiful cards that were taped to the wall at the foot of my bed. That wall of cards was about 6 ft x 6 ft. the day I left the hospital.

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:39 PM

Taught a card class tonight -- was fun but I beat.

Have same class again Thursday night and Saturday morning.

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:41 PM

Hey Imogene,

We did that door card from Frenchie's website.... they loved it. Think I would prefer it with a wreath on the card instead of the skates.

tamijo 11-13-2012 05:41 PM

okay- I have done no work tonight and yet I need to SO, I am going to spend the next 20 minutes typing some stuff- bbl and if I don't come back tonight- chat at ya tomorrow

mountainmom 11-13-2012 05:43 PM

A wreath would look good on the door, if you had one the correct size. Did you do Cherry Cobbler?

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:46 PM

We did Bravo Burgundy in class... I used the last of my Cherry Cobbler on another card for the same class and had slews of Bravo Burgundy. Used the antique brads for the door knob. It is a beautiful card even without the skate.

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:47 PM

g'night Tami

I have no clue when I found you guys... but I would guess it was later... ( not sure anymore) I know the first year I was a member I didnt post much, I only had a membership because, gals at two peas would link us to the gallery here and or post over here if they were an SU demo and I had the idea this site was only for SU demo's... so I was very very quiet in the beginning...

I think I did as well. I know it was around thread 13 or 14. Nursie had posted something somewhere and was looking for a stamp that had been in a mini, but exclusively in Canada, and I had it. When I offered to send her some stamped images, she invited me to the PIF thread. The rest, as they say, is history.

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:51 PM

I think I found you guys because, someone posted something inside wish rak about it...

a faster/easier way to horsetrade...

misse336 11-13-2012 05:51 PM

DS2 decided that he wants a Super Mario Brother's birthday party. Mind you his birthday isn't till the beginning of March. Then DS1 decided that he wants a Star Wars birthday. His birthday isn't even tll the end of August.

I'm thinking of these for the invites/thank you notes:
Invites (if I can figure out how to make the hats):

I remember her! She had such a funny sense of humor and always got me tickled.

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 05:55 PM

I still have a few packages of pifs hanging around here from that original fall 2007 group.

I traded like a mad woman for such a long time. Was fun to get mail in!

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:55 PM

I have drawers full

know whatcha mean :)

mountainmom 11-13-2012 05:56 PM

Nursie and Julie were quite a combo!

I never see Nursie on SCS anymore.

JBgreendawn 11-13-2012 05:57 PM

I think they migrated to fb...

eta but once in a while I will see Jules pin something

I'm not sure how this can be only a two-parter. There are an awful lot of loose ends that haven't been tied up!

misse336 11-13-2012 05:59 PM

Kelly did you see all of the stitching set previews this week?

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 06:00 PM

SU - Punch Art Ideas Misse there is another one pinned on my board, but I can't seem to follow it back to it's original site.

The pinterest link isn't working, but the invitation looks cute.

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 06:02 PM

I was always jumping onto StampininKS (think that was her name) for the Flamingo set and Imogene was always grabbing Birthday Babe (look like a statue of liberty pose of a birthday girl).

You have some great things pinned. I really love the Lego one and as much as my boys are into Legos I'm sure I'll have an chance to use it sometime.

Thanks Misse.... I try to pin things I think will make a good card for my classes...

When I teach card classes I do a
* Male themed card
* Female themed card
* Kids card (punch art is great for this)
* A wildcard (means anything my heart desires)
* Technique card + a technique flash card for home....

Only my Christmas card classes do not follow this formula.. It is 5 cards and one is the techinque card (tonight was Ice Crystal).

Yeah I keep on forgetting until 1/2 way through the previews. Somehow the months seem to be going faster than normal lately.

Love the circle cover plate and the boy card they made with it.

Arlene Bridges 11-13-2012 06:11 PM

Ya'll have to try the Ice Crystal technique -- found it at Dawn Griffith's website last month. It works on all colors of cardstock except black.

Mix equal parts of Epson Salts and HOT water together. Make sure it all dissolves. Brush the epson salt mixture onto cardstock with a foam brush. Lay the wet cardstock onto aluminum foil to dry. NOTE: Do not go over the cardstock with the mixture more than once.

Once dried, the cardstock looks like frost on a window pane.... really cool for winter cards.

I'm not sure if you can use these because the punch isn't current, but here are a few really cute ones that I have marked if I ever get my hands on the stocking punch/stamp set. Soooo sad I missed that punch/set. :(
