BCBW...All Righty Then!

We'll have a smashing good time as the BCBWs examine all things British!

....driving on the left side of the road...

...singing "Long Live the Queen"...

...eating "biscuits" with our tea...

...taking the "lift" to the 10th floor...

And Bob's your uncle!

hedgiemama 05-02-2013 04:50 PM

Thank the Lord we did not have a school shooting or other horrid event.
I am sure he was exiting on the East side on our major beltline to go to northern woods. Excellent place to hide, make meth, etc...

I haven't been on news today. ha, ha! I mean I haven't WATCHED news on the telly today! A few weeks ago there were stabbings at a Houston college just across the street from where my brother's church is (where he's the associate pastor now). His church was even on lock down!

We watch motorcycle racing. Okay, PHIL & Natalie watch it & I listen while I'm doing handwork or on the ipad. The announcers (2 on the international groups & one on the American one---yep, it's American Motorcycle Association & they have worldwide riders & a British announcer along with a guy from Mississippi!) say BRILLIANT every other word, it seems. I imagine my saying y'all would be as annoying as it is hearing that word! LOL!

SO thankful they got him before something big like that happened. Thanks for keeping us posted!

Awwww, poor Granny. I do that with movies, of all things, then can't go to bed too soon or if I do I wake up with a headache. Or sometimes even if I wait I wake up with a headache from crying.

I find this thread a little bit dodgy.

How do you say, "Bwahahahahaha?" in England? LOL!

Funniest British/American English stories I've been told: In Kenya a single American girl was there as a missionary. A single missionary man from the UK was trying to tell her that he'd come by and I guess wake her up or knock on her door in the morning. He said, "I'll knock you up in the morning." Another missionary was British & had married an American, so they were in the US for awhile, in NYC. Her brother came to visit from the UK. Apparently, there is a certain type of meatball that has a different name there than here. She said he saw those in a restaurant (remember the city they were in) and said, quite loudly, "We have faggots like that back home!" She was ready to crawl under the table!

Off to cop a shower. Cheerio!

Chef Mama 05-02-2013 05:20 PM

Double post.

Chef Mama 05-02-2013 05:25 PM

This thread took me back a couple of years. Hedgie, will you wear the blouse you bought for the Royal Wedding in honor of this thread? I remember us giggling about waiting for invites & you looking for the perfect blouse! :)

I do indeed have the blouse, unworn due to the sorry fact, the invitiation was inadvertantly lost! However, I do plan to wear it to the royal baptism which of course, I will be invited to. It is freshened up and ready. The footman will arrive early so my outfit, must be ready!

Perhaps because so many of them pertain to getting drunk, having sex, or human genitalia??? :D
