***Misfit Monday (6-3-13)***

I still think of posting the new threads on Monday - I just don't think of it on the first of the month. Sorry I'm a few days late.

Carry on...

And I can always be a misfit..

jkincolorado 06-03-2013 06:37 AM

Last night was Preston's 7th night in a row sleeping in just undies and waking up dry. I think we're officially done with diapers! So proud of my big boy.

Sweetie, everyone can be misfit sometimes - just remember God made only one of you so that makes you super special!

Alexander's Jr. Naval Academy had graduation ceremony for his class, leaving middle school and now entering high school. It was held at Patuxent Naval Base and so wish I could have been there.

Here are a few more... we are extremely proud of our sweet wonderful 1st born grandson!

scrappincanyon 06-03-2013 09:06 AM

Good Morning!

Xander is here! He is so funny! Enjoying him already!

Jennifer - the day you start the thread is not important, just that we all keep checking in! YEA for Preston!

Cat - your grandson is so handsome! I know you are so proud!

I'll post some pics of Xander soon! He is so big!

Today I'm working all day, but the rest of the week I'm only working 1/2 days! We are going to the zoo on Wednesday. Nothing planned for the rest of the time yet, but we will do some fun things together! Can't wait!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Sherry

jkincolorado 06-03-2013 11:57 AM

Sherry - so glad Xander is visiting. I know you enjoy seeing him.

Cat - nice pictures.

Went to a different Y this morning and took a new class called muscle fit - man, was it HARD!! I don't think it was for beginners. My thighs are screaming! My neighbor went with me and we were both struggling. We stopped by a nursery on our way home and bought a Columbine plant - Colorado's state flower. I've been wanting one and it will fill in a blank spot in my planter.

jor 06-03-2013 12:10 PM

Jennifer - I am so amazing at all the different classes you are willing to try. You should be very pleased with yourself! YAY for Preston!

Caterina - your whole family is stunning. So proud of your grandson!

Sherry - enjoy your time with your grandson!!!!

Just talked to my mom. Dad has a nurse come take blood for his coumadin level. They should know by the end of the day. Still waiting to hear about physical therapy, but they were told the therapist would call the night before so they could get a call tonight. Dad got up okay and had breakfast and lunch today. Mom said he always walked around the living room. He doesn't have a lot of room to move, so if he can get on the treadmill (which is on yet another level) he can do more. We have to see what the therapist has to say.

caterinafmig 06-03-2013 01:40 PM

Thank you for your kind comments on the pictures... forget to mention the two ladies are my daughter and granddaughter.

caterinafmig 06-03-2013 01:43 PM

My sister sent me this 'test' and got 11 out of 13 right... the one question that I got wrong, I think borders on 'junk science' so that is why I answered the way I did. See how you do.

Dh's surgery is over. It was twice as long as predicted. The shoulder was in much worse condition than thought. The tear was severe and there was a bone spur. He is in the hospital at least for over night. He is a diabetic. He looked pretty good. Surgeon told us he will be in pain so he needs to take meds. He will be out of work for at least 6 more weeks. Thanks for all the positive thoughts...please keep them coming!

Very grateful surgery is over, sorry it took so much longer. It must have been difficult for you waiting all that time.

hedgiemama 06-03-2013 04:14 PM

So relieved for you Joan. Hope recovery goes very well.

Quiz very interesting. Dr. Livingston, I presume.

Way to go, Joan!

jor 06-03-2013 04:48 PM

I'm afraid to take the test. Science is not my thing.

Joan - glad your husband had the surgery and hope that he recovers more quickly than anticipated. Who is taking you both back and forth to the hospital?

A big thanks to Joan, Liz and Caterina for the birthday cards!!

jenguin 06-03-2013 06:51 PM

Joan, wishing your husband a speedy recovery!

The one I would've missed was the common element in the atmosphere but since we did beginning chemistry and the elements I knew it. The rest I did know but being a teacher definitely helped!

Good morning! it is a gorgeous day here. Reynold is working today and will be home by 3pm. Danny, Magda, Camron & Conrad will be coming over for dinner.

Joan thinking of you and your husband - sending much love and healing prayers.

caterinafmig 06-04-2013 05:19 AM

I would need many, many, many, many, many fingers... ;-)

How Old

Eileen's two-year-old great-grandson was excited about
having his birthday in a few days. When asked how old he
would be, he always said he would be four and held up four
fingers.

His mother tried to explain that he would be three, that
three came after two, but he wasn't convinced.

He told her that he had to be four because when he tried to hold up three fingers, the fourth came up too.

caterinafmig 06-04-2013 07:07 AM

Gotta love my YAWAG husband... he looked through my stash of cards, chose one and wrote, "What another birthday? Aren't you old enough already?" ;-) Btw, he put it in the fridge....so love Reynold!

jkincolorado 06-04-2013 07:15 AM

Happy Birthday Cat!! Hope you have a most wonderful day!

jor 06-04-2013 08:06 AM
