I'm offended that they don't make them practice in corsets, like proper young ladies...
Uh... so the person would be happier if they wound up hospitalized with heat stroke? Good grief. And they wonder why girls have body issues. Um, they're WORKING OUT. Hello...

I give myself a weekend every 6-8 weeks to flomp. I schedule nothing, have things cleaned ahead of time (or just leave them), take nice long walks or paddle and then just read a book or putter around. If someone calls and wants to do something, cool, otherwise if you need me I'll be taking a nap.
Every now and then I just want to do absolutely nothing.
I want to want to do nothing. But I find it difficult. I'm sitting here planning late June and July lol. I mean I'm not rushing to fold the last of the laundry but I"m not laying on the couch reading either. I've been doing household paperwork almost all day.

I might have to keep him. At least for a while
Awww...

Today I am working on my coupon binder and making a spreadsheet for rock bottom prices on items I stockpile. My grocery bill has gotten out of control because I haven't been working hard enough. Its my own fault and now that school is out I need to fix it. Our medical bills are out of control and I don't see that changing in the near future, so I have got to reign in the grocery bill and control what expenses I can.
You know, kudos to you for attacking the problem like that!
When (if?) I retire, I may come take your coupon class
my concerns are it being close-ish to the house, waiting til it's all out to go to bed, storage, kids being too interested.
WOnder if I can rent one for a week or so. Better yet wonder if I can talk my brother into buying one LOL

I imagine it's easier to do nothing when you don't have kids.

Last year at the end of the marching band organizational meeting I spoke with two of the marching band dads who live in our neighborhood about the possibility of carpooling to and from practices and such. They both seemed to think at the time that it was a good idea. But then neither of their families seemed to be interested in it during marching season. I did give one of the boys a ride home from one of the competitions, where we got back to the school around 10:30 or 11:00 pm.
I do understand your objections, Bo, and I think they are valid. I realize that out in your area the gas savings is probably more significant than here. I also like carpooling for trying to cut down on pollution.
The thing about carpooling that drove me crazy was that the schedule was dictated by the latest person on the front end, and the earliest on the back end. And yes, it really limits tacking on errands. It was not a big deal for me in suburbia with the boys -- the sports fields were only 5-10 minutes away, max. But I can see with Amber's distances where you would do it, even if you didn't like it.

Bo that sounds like the most idyllic, happy weekend--the kind your kids will look back on when they're our age and want to give to their children too--if they can drag them away from Grandma and Grandpa's.
You mean, like, when Amber is your current age and her DH is her current age?

We dropped the kids off at the mall and went to Outback for dinner. I got the small filet with a salad and sweet potato. It was nice. No bloomin' onion!!!!
Then a quick stop at the store for stuff Target didn't have earlier.
