I stocked up on colors right before I let my demoship go. But then, as you know, the company changed thecolors! haha. So I do have a lot of retired colors. Such is life.
Nothing wrong with retired colors. They work just fine. I use them all the time. I was NOT happy with the color change, but then I wasn't asked. haha

haha. I agree with you Melody. The only problem is that there are MORE colors to want! haha Plus, I love some of my retired colors...so I'm glad to have them on hand still.

Tomorrow, oldest goes to one of our sister churches all day to have a handbell festival with the other sister schools in the area. They will put on a concert tomorrow night. Then he and DH leave for bible camp Friday afternoon. I keep trying to get him to get moving on his homework so he can try on his jeans and such to make sure they still fit (the kid is growing like a weed...) so that I can pack for him tomorrow

Ok....so I had oldest try on pants/jeans.
The black pants that he has worn only ONE time (bought right before Christmas break) are too short....
His jeans that were bought a couple of months ago are not only too short, they are also tight around the waist
Luckily, one of the high school boys (who is also tall and lean) just gave DS a bag of hardly worn clothes......black pants~~~check! they fit
One pair of jeans fits perfectly...another are just slightly short, but will do if I can't find another pair of jeans for him tomorrow.
I didn't get around to have him try on his long sleeve shirts...guess i should do that real quick to make sure he has something warm to wear up in the mountains this weekend

Holy cow....this kid is going to run the bank dry trying to keep him in clothes (he also told me this week that his school uniform shorts feel tight....grrrrrrr!)

I don't even want to think about looking through the clothes. It's such a big chore. And the kids aren't too happy to help either! I hope their performance goes smoothly!

What's hard is, this kiddo is in between.....too long legged for the 18-20 size in kids, yet too skinny for young men.
I found some jeans that hopefully will work. I'll have him try them on after he gets home from his concert tonight.

He HATES trying on clothes. So, I thought we were done with that after doing the major closet cleaning before school started. Guess we get to do it again

I can relate. Yesterday I did my DT card - not due until Sunday. I need to figure out 3 cards for next Thurs. cuttlebug class.

That's the problem with oldest. Most size charts have weight being 145-150 for someone his height. He is about 5'5 (haven't measured for a month or so and obviously THAT has changed!) and weighs just over 100. So, usually have to find slims. But finding slims for a 32 inseam is rather hard...

youngest actually has the same problem....he is short (for the average of his age) but he actually has long legs too. He could still wear size 7's for the waist, but the length is waaay too small.

I think I'm carrying all their extra weight!

I'm actually trying to clean up my space....in between laundry and packing for DS/DH's Bible camp retreat.
Hoping some mojo finds me this weekend

I haven't been working much lately...you'd think that I wouldn't have an excuse not to exercise! I have been taking the dog for about an hour long walk (brisk enough that it has managed to wear him out for a bit!). Really need to hit it strong again....by now, you'd think I'd learn to keep up the pace and not backslide!

Voted for the Packers as oldest kiddo's teacher is a HUGE Packer fan....figured life would be pretty miserable today if they lost! haha

And they seemed the under dog....noticed the announcers tended to tilt towards the Steelers in how they commented (ie...The Steelers are down by 14....not the Packers are up by 14)...

It was a pretty exciting game. My son's roommate has a wall-sized tv with all the bells and whistles. Their living room is like a tiny theater. We slip-slided all the way over there. The roads were better coming home, except for one spot near DD's apt, where DH thought he might have to back up, because he couldn't get up the hill, until some jerk came up behind him and then acted like he was going to try to pass as we're sliding back and forth, spinning our tires all the way up the hill. I'm thinking DH needs some new tires. I thought mine were bad, but apparently his are worse.

It's been so long since I've really had to drive in winter conditions. Last year we had one storm that locked us on our hill (we live at the top of a canyon....not the best for getting down with ice!). Just amazes me that I ever drove in the stuff AS A TEENAGER! How quickly one loses the winter driving skills! (welllll.....I guess it has been 20 years now since I've lived in snow! haha)

Most of the time, winters haven't been too bad here for driving, because the roads get cleared and salted. This has been a bad winter for lots of snow, and Sundays don't get the same attention as the rest of the week.

I learned to drive in snow. In northern WI, winter meant ice and snow on the roads - just a given.

OK, got my exercise. I walked out to the mailbox! haha!

No, seriously, I shoveled the driveway - 2" of snow and had to throw it up over 2-1/2 foot banks.

That's the funny thing...I learned to drive in snow too....Wyoming winters were no fun and even though Colorado winters were more mild in comparison, we still had snow and ice

That makes my arms sore thinking about that!! (guess i should do some push ups and dips! haha)

Just got done walking the dog for an hour...and while he was on his long sit/stay, I did backward lunges, side lunges, squat with jump and jumping jacks (sounds more impressive than it was...I only did 10 reps to each side/each!)

I'm with you on that one. The snow is definitely a motivator - also gives me some fresh air - 'cause I sit inside ALL the time.

Well to be honest, it is the dog that makes me get out....he is a herding dog so has LOTS of energy. Walking him gives me a bit of peace or else he keeps whining, barking at me to take him outside to play (mind you, the walk just gives me some quiet for a bit....after he takes a nap, he is raring to go again!)

I guess I do need a dog them! I sent my 2 kids out to shovel...when they were done with homework and signing valentines. My oldest has a ton of stuff to do tonight. Poor kid. I think the other 2 have abandoned the shoveling in favor of making a snow fort. I hope they did enough shoveling.

The homework only gets worse. Oldest (in 8th) pretty much has homework every night. He usually goes until it is bedtime with homework. Of course, homework is usually started between 4:30 and 5:30, depending on who has ball practice that day. It will only get worse when middle school varisty b-ball starts playing games, as that will take a chunk out of the afternoon/early evenings on game days

Acutally, youngest usually has a fair amount of homework too as he is required to write his spelling words 5 x plus a sentence and his memory verse 5 times for the week. Good/bad, he is very careful with his handwriting, so this can take a while. But I don't push him to speed up. Oldest has HORRIBLE writing and I'd rather one could read it!!

If, for one reason or another, didn't get his workbooks done at school, then he'll have that to do too.

And think REAAALLY long and hard about the dog....
'cause it WILL be you who does most of the work. The kids are responsible to feed/water and clean the yard, but it is me who makes sure it gets done. And usually I'm the one who exercises him as I'm home the most.
And I'm the one who has to deal with the obnoxious whining and balls being shoved into my lap when he feels ignored......

Why is it that oldest always needs help with pre Algebra when DH is gone?!! Compounding interest....what DH does for a living....me....nope. I figure out how to decrease pain and increase range of motion....

sigh. Have I ever mentioned that while I got good grades in math, I struggled the entire time with it? And high school was 26 years ago....

I just realized that at some point today I lost the diamond in my wedding ring. Was on the phone with DH when I noticed. Whikle I'm pretty upset, he was very calm and said "well, luckily, it was a small diamond so not a whole lot of money lost. We'll get it fixed" LOL
Used to be that I always said I wanted a new, bigger ring when we had been married 20-25 years (it will 17 next month). But now I'm not so sure. Seems kind of a waste to spend $$ on a ring when I could get a new couch/patio cover, paint the house....with that money.
And.....it wouldn't be the ring that DH had made for me. At the time he kind of apologized for it's size, but we were a) young....and were planning on buying a house b) were mtn bike racing at the time and he thought for sure I'd lose the stone on some ride so he went smaller to increase the odds that the stone wouldn't get loose
And considering how I do EVERYTHING with my ring on....it's lasted a Loooong time!
