its pretty warm here too but we had major storms last night that flooded rivers and streams, much needed rain except it didn't rain over the highland lakes where we are needing it. We get our water from those lakes and they are about at 38% capacity, that is very low

That storm system is moving towards us today. We're really dry and need some rain. Just don't want any bad weather.

well MIL is in the hospital with Bronchitis. FIL was up until 4am with her coughing and then she had 2 mild seizures and then a fever of 102. Trying to keep her from getting pneumonia again. She has been sick for 8 yrs now. I have no idea how long a 74 yo can be a full time caregiver for a 73 yo invalid. I didn't think he would last this long. I hope I am that strong when I am their age. I know I couldn't do it. He deserves a huge reward for what he has done for that woman. She isn't always nice about it.

MIL still in the hospital, Might have the start of pnuemonia. They changed her antibiotics. She cries everyday to go home. Not good.

I have a terrible cold again. May have turned the corner today. Amazing what a full night sleep will do for you. Taking Mucinex, Claritin, and Ibuprofen. Went and got good old fashioned cough syrup for last night and it helped me

Karen, hope your mil is better. Your fil has a tough job. Hopefully, he will take care of himself and not get run down.

My MIL is much better. We saw them on Friday. We had a second thanksgiving at my SIL JoAnn's house. She has scheduled her double mastectomy for next Monday. They won'r know her treatment plan until they figure out the cancer. She opted to do a double because her tumors are difficult to palpate and detect by mammogram. She has very dense tissue. She will be getting the first phase of reconstructive surgery too. They have to put in skin expanders and they will try and save as much skin as they can. She is in good spirits and we talked a lot about it.

Karen, How is she doing?

my sister had her second one done about the same time and is having a heck of a time with it. She did pretty good with her first one but this one is bad.

She can hardly bend her knee now, honestly I don't think she is exercising like she is supposed to be doing.

She goes to physical therapy but does not seem to be doing anything at home the rest of the day. and it is tightening up on her. And she gets mad and upset when you try to help/encourage her to do things.

Yes this has still be happening!

Have lots to still do. I do plan to try to knock some of it out this weekend. I will have to see how successful I am at that.

It is coming together pretty well but I am sure there will be lots of little things in limbo til the end.

Just googled that to see what it was.

It looks very pretty, also looks like it is mostly in warmer climates. I see it around lots of palms.

Not too bad, at one moment I feel like everything is fine and right in place and the next moment I am thinking there is no way everything is going to get done!

It isn't so much that things won't be ready as it is timing issues the day of the wedding.

Since it is a Sunday we are having issues with everything!

We can't set up in the church reception hall until the morning coffee hour is over and that is not until 11.

I have been told by the Associate Pastor that we can't even set up tables and chairs the day before at the rehearsal. I was hoping we could do that on Saturday when there to cut down on what has to be done on Sunday but she tells me it is going to make it too crowded for the coffee hour they have in there on Sunday morning.

I hate to say it but I feel like she is just trying to make things difficult for us.

We have been having a time with the church.

Glad to hear that the plan of attack has been set in to motion.

I just recently found out that the girl/lady that babysat Kyle and Kasey when Kasey was a baby had to have that done.

I was shocked when I found out. She had the double mastectomy also and is working on the reconstruction. I think it is partially done. She is in good spirits now.

We will have three hours the day of the wedding to get the reception hall decorated and ready to go.

I don't understand why we can't set the tables up in there ahead of time as I saw the room a couple weeks ago with the tables up and there was plenty of room.

The church was supposed to assign us a wedding coordinator from the church when Kasey originally requested the date for the wedding. That was the end of July or early August. The secretary there never did it. Well now that we found out that should have been done and requested it to be no one is available on that day to help so they don't have anyone. So what has happened is the the Associate Pastor has now said she will be our point of contact with the church. She has had a little bit of an attitude each time I have spoken with her.

Honestly she makes me feel like we are inconveniencing her/the church! I don't understand.

Kasey is bringing in two pastors to do her ceremony, which they said was fine, the pastor is ok with it. But I can't help but feel this is why she is treating me/us this way.

It is very irritating and I feel she is just trying to make things difficult.

Also, on another note now that I have bored you all to death with my catching up...

I am scheduled for surgery the day after Christmas. I am finally getting the right side of my thyroid removed. I have had a very large nodule on it for a while. It seems to slowly continue to get bigger so I have finally decided to do it. It will depend on what they find in surgery as to whether or not they take the left side too.

They will biopsy it right in the OR. If they find any cancer cells at all they will take the left too.

He only wants to do the right so as to hopefully keep me from having to take medication the rest of my life. Also, I think he is also concerned because of the size of it. It is close to the size of a tennis ball. You can't tell from the outside unless you really look at my neck or know that it is there. I can feel it pressing on my esophagus, it causes issues at times with swallowing and I think it also helps with my snoring issue that David says I have!

Good Morning!

No I will have to stay at least one night. They have to make sure that the left side of my thyroid kicks in and starts working enough to function for both sides.

He has told me that it should but it is a possibility that it won't and I will have to take medication.

I an just catching up. I risking malware according to google chrome.

My SIL had her surgery yesterday. It took 6 hours, she was in intense pain when she went to recovery. made me cry thinking about it. They have asked us not to call or come by for a few days. Trying to get her pain under control so she can go home.

I can't imagine the church would want to give you a hard time. That lady must have a bug up her butt about something. Maybe she didn't know she was supposed to be helping brides. I am sure the wedding will come together. I hope they shoe everyone out of their so important coffee hour. geez, talk about a pita. I hope you guys have some helpers lined up to decorate

Karen, I got the same warning with firefox.

David told me to ignore for the time being and see how it works.

By the way he is working in a computer repair shop now. He said most sites that are forums where you can post links pose the same threat.

If it screws my computer up he will be fixing it!

Everyone is offering but I have asked my brother and his family, six of them in total, I know I can count on him to get it right.

wrapping presents this morning. I am missing some things I ordered on Cyber monday. I am still not finished. I am almost done but not quite. I need to make some stamped cards for a few people that are expecting them. Haven't stamped forever.Need to go to the post office. My house is a dusty wreck. I have been too busy to clean much. Just enough to keep us going. Vacuming, doing dishes, did my bathroom a few days ago and changed my bedding. The dusting will have to just wait.
