Hello!

Took me forever to get here. Computer was slow as molasses, then prompted me for an update. Done. Sheesh.

Apologies.

That was not nice. But that story made me SO sad. I've always loved Elmo and I hate the idea that all the tickling was actually not something innocent, funny and sweet.
Yeah really. Well, in my memories of the beloved Elmo, I will just keep the puppet man out of it.

local, part time $18 an hour position just popped up. I put in a cover letter and resume. I wouldn't have to pay for childcare. Fingers crossed

Thank you, guys.

We're both recovering more today.

The worst part was trying to get him up the stairs after the seizures passed. He was unsteady on his feet, couldn't use his left arm and was dead weight in my arms. He fell twice on the stairs and again at the upstairs landing. I was able to drag him into the bedroom on a throw rug and roll him onto the bed. That sounds horrible, doesn't it? Believe me, I TRIED like mad to get him to sleep on the sofa but he didn't want any part of it and he's quite, quite stubborn.

The last seizure had had was 22 days before this one. Most days he's up and doing stuff, like over the weekend, he was hanging drywall. Then, someone tosses a monkey wrench into the works and reminds us just how ill he is.

This is a scary, horrible disease.

Oh, and why am I "recovering?" Because my back was killing me on Monday and supporting a 180lb man to stand upright hurt. Plus, I had an awful time falling asleep that night and staying asleep. Every move he made, I was wide awake and scared to death.

But today, we're good.

That's so scary. I wish there was something we could do to help you. I'm glad today was better for you both. When does he have to go and see doctors again?

Did baked taco salads for dinner which were yummy but the jalapeno I sauteed was rather hot. And now my fingers are reminding me of that. Mustn't touch eyes. I can't remember what I used last time to scrub the oils off. Vinegar maybe?

Lemon?

I have some soap with rosemary and lemon in it just for smells, would probably work on that. I use it for garlic mostly.

I must say, Rainsong, that I've moved furniture by getting it onto a rug, but never a human! (Reminds me of an NCIS episode!)

At any rate, sending you good thoughts.

I made jalapeno popper sandwiches for lunch today, but I wore latex gloves. Vinegar or lemon juice might work.

In the meantime, do not touch your V-jay jay!

We haven't talked about it but you can bet we will once he's back to "normal." And yes, very dangerous. He landed hard on his left shoulder twice and smashed his head into the steps once. He does remember doing that!

Dh actually has a slippery mat to move appliances. We did mention it when all this was going on.

The whole thing made me envious of the governor's mother in The Farmer's Daughter. (Are you old enough to remember the show?)

Good thoughts gratefully accepted!

The governor's mother had a chair escalator! It was soooooo cool for the sixties!

Of course, she also lived in the governor's mansion... .

Our new neighbor lady came over yesterday to apologize for the dogs. She also brought us a dozen fresh eggs from her "girls."

She said they've ordered maximum security collars for the dogs. LOL! Oh, and Booey had not only swiped one of the cat dishes (which I retrieved), but deposited one of his dishes in our yard. She let me know if anything is missing from the neighborhood, it's probably in their yard.

And--she invited me to come down and collect eggs any time I need them.

I won't, but it was nice of her to extend the invitation.

Wow eggs!

Those chair escalators are still cool, in my opinion!

Took my dad to a small Marine museum/meeting place at home, a few months before he died, and they had one for the elderly vets that wanted to see the downstairs museum stuff. So dad rode that down and I told him he was so cool.

LOL! I've been telling him for 34 years to not be so stubborn. I don't think it will work.

When I IMDB'd it, it had a couple of movies, a TV movie and a TV show.

Let's see, the first movie was 1928, then 1940 (Martha Raye), 1947 (Loretta Young), then the TV show, 1963-66, and a TV Movie in 1962!!!

I was referring to the television series with William Windom and Inger Stevens.

Yeah I assumed that because you said "show." But thought I'd throw in that there were a bunch of movies too!

Wonder which movie Marge saw??

Did she build him a staircase to get up on the desk? No way did his short legs get him up there!

He is soooo darned cute, Wrose. How could you let her take him away? Oh. Yeah. Her dog.

Yeah I miss the pup.

She got the desk today, she tried to get away with just a table but it wasn't working. So she put him up there. Too funny, huh.
