Wait... State of the Union's not on till 9.

But the Westiminster dog show is on! The spaniels are strutting their stuff. I need to go keep Molly doggle company (and Sonny too!).

If the working dogs come on during SOTU I'm going to wish I had a DVR... lulz.

How can I be old enough to be the mother of a 17 year old?

*snuffle*

I will just have to convince people that I was 20 when he was born. Yeah, that's the ticket.

PH i have something sweet to tell you.
Jacob is still wearing many of the pajamas you sent e a few years ago. AND that little Pooh blanket with the satin trim? It tucks in a tiny Clifford that sleeps on the pillow next to Jacob's head at night.

You're a big part of their cozy sweet sleepy little selves.

I don't remember a Pooh blanket, especially not one with satin trim. And a "tiny Clifford"?!?!? That's an oxymoron!

But I'm glad the pajamas are still being put to good use.

It's tiny, like a foot and a half square. You sent it once with a pooh lunch box and little activity stuff. And no tiny Clifford is in fact a tiny stuffed Clifford

It would be quite a stretch for me to be ODS's grandmother, but not biologically impossible. It would be more plausible but still kind of a stretch to be YDS's grandmother.

Ha ha it's wonderful.

I remember buying a pair of farmer jeans (remember when they were popular?) and they fit but I needed to lose five pounds really. Well it was like five years before I wore them. LOL

I subbed for the lower grades' Title I teacher today. In the morning I had two small groups of first graders and two small groups of kindergarteners, and then after lunch and "planning" I had one small group each of K, 1st and 2nd graders. I'd worked with a lot of the kids before so it went pretty well for the most part.

I got a big hug from Hunter Girl during lunch.

The K groups this morning had a book about water to read through and talk about the opposites in it (cold/hot, deep/shallow, rough/calm). The last page showed a boy running through a sprinkler, and I mentioned that my boys used to like to do that when they were younger. So of course the kids wanted to know how old my boys were. I told them and they were like "WOW"... I guess 14 and 17 seemed old to them! Ha ha ha.

I almost cried in front of one of the K groups.

I had to read them the story "Mrs Wishy-washy".

Back when YDS was in K, he and a girl from his class memorized the story and presented it during the school's first ever Forensics Fair. One of the other K teachers had a group of 5 or 6 kids read something from a script. Those were the only K students who participated in the fair that year. So it was a pretty big thing that YDS and the girl memorized their piece to present it.

So while I was reading, I got all verklempt remembering how adorable YDS and the girl were performing it. *sniffle* I am such a sentimental sap.

One thing I noticed later, after the students had left - the book wasn't American! I was looking at the cover and saw that there was no period at the end of "Mrs." I looked through the story again and saw that was consistent throughout the story. So I looked at the publisher's info and sure enough, the book was originally published in New Zealand. I thought that was pretty interesting.

Not a stretch for me - if I'd had a kid at 18 who had a kid at 18, that's how old I was when I had DD. Actually I was a month short of 37. Even older for DS, obviously.

Erk, Dh had two really bad seizures yesterday (Monday) and was totally out of it today from exhaustion. If he feels better tomorrow, I'll ask him again about your dishwasher.

That was not nice. But that story made me SO sad. I've always loved Elmo and I hate the idea that all the tickling was actually not something innocent, funny and sweet.
