The dark polish (blacks, blues, etc) isn't to my taste. I guess that's the diplomatic way to say it. I'm too old for it -- I like a nice classic pink, red or neutral nail.

My nails suck. Too much dish washing and rough work to keep them nice. Heck, I can't even stand for them to be more than an eighth of an inch past the top of the finger. Used to wear nail polish until it turned my nails yellow. Ugh.
Rainsong--going to bed to get rid of the grumpys.

I don't wear it any more either. My hands get too messed up from the eczema.
Grumpy, Doc, Happy, Sneezy....

Yeah, but they're her nails. Big difference from those long (sometimes overly long) acrylic, square nails.

This shows my age too -- I definitely do NOT like the squared off nails. I like a gentle curve -- more oval than squared.
I know all the salons do the squared off now; if I get a manicure (not often) I ask for more rounded. Probably it dates me -- but heck. My boss has gel nails; always a nice French manicure, she must go to the nail place every few weeks. But I can't get past the squared tip.

Ahhh I wouldn't even know that if I went in. lol
I dunno, I think you can do what you want and nobody should mind.

Yeah my wedding day was the ONLY time.
I never polished my own nails because I was too impatient. But then they came out with quick dry, so I tried again. I did it for awhile, nice for bunko, but then I started stamping. And I'd crease paper and transfer nail color to the cardstock. So I pretty much stopped. And my hands are frequently so messed up in winter from the eczema, there's no point highlighting that.

I know better than to take those on an empty stomach.
But I think if I were gonna lose it, it would have happened already. I think I dodged a bullet. "Bullet" sounds like it should be spelled "Bullit." But wasn't Bullitt a movie? Yeah, Steve McQueen, 1968, famous car chase in San Francisco. That's how it's spelled, Bullitt. lol

I don't like the squared off fingernails, either. Or the obviously fake ones.
I used to wear nail polish when I was younger. That's how I stopped biting my nails - I started wearing polish on them. I was about 10 or 11 years old then. I wore polish occasionally throughout my teenage years and early 20s. It always took friggin forEVer to dry, which is the main reason why I stopped wearing it.
As far as colors go, I usually went for neutral pinks. But when I was a teen, my sister bought herself a bottle of black polish with specks of colored glitter in it, and then decided she didn't like it, so she gave it to me. That was the wildest I ever got, though.
As far as the unusual colors and patterns and such go - IMO there's a time and a place for it. Professional office settings would not be a place for it, and I wouldn't like to see it on anyone handling my food in a restaurant. But it wouldn't bother me on my hairdresser or a cashier in a store.
A sprinkling of snow here this morning. It was too wet to settle at our house but just a mile or so away ( 200 ft higher) they had a good inch and a half.
They are reproduction made of resin or something -- designed for kitchen decor and making springerle -- not cheap if you look at their web site -- but I did not pay retail for any of them. Over about 4 years I went once a year to their open house / clearance / seconds sale. So for example I would get a $29 mold for $3 because the stain or finish had streaks, or a nick at the edge which impacted the look but not the mold part, etc. Thus my collection is a bit eclectic!! It's whatever I liked from the seconds table
Also I have some clay molds by Arthur Grummer made explicitly for paper casting. They dry faster and unmold easier, but not the same vintage feel and certainly not the same degree of detail.

So similar to about a month ago and DD's trip. The Grapevine was even closed last night.
