Plus my manager is cracking me up. He's got a very dry sense of humor and low key personality and he doesn't fit in with the Coach leather portfolio set any better than I do. When he IM'd me that he could see I was writing him an e-mail I about blew coffee out of my nose.

I still love my job. I know I'll get used to the new space, and probably if they moved us again down the road I'd be all sentimental about leaving all over again. The view is really awesome, that's for sure--especially from the conference rooms. They're all in the corners of the floor except for one top exec corner office.

Oooo! I'll try that this weekend. I wonder if it would work with my fish-shaped muffin pans. Little mini pumpkin spice fish loaves?

Ahhhh something specific. That's okay.

second layer out of the pan safely! And I got the board wrapped in aluminum foil with the first layer on it. SO I'm in good shape for tomorrow.

It is treacherous out there. Yesterday, tons of rain / slush / "wintry mix" as they call it.

Woke up today and it is a veritable minefield of ice. And where the plows pushed aside the many inches of slush, it is like frozen mini-Rockies.

Very, very treacherous walking the dog this morning. Made it back alive.

I honestly don't think we register enough for them to complain. It would kind of be like complaining about the color of the carpet.

I'm seriously going to have fun watching this. Plus I guess it's kind of a spiritual challenge for me because if I have to be compassionate towards everyone (not LIKE them thank goat but at least try to sit on my own judgmental feelings and understand where they're coming from) then I have to detach and not deal by being just as smug from the other side. Which clearly is a tough one. I guess it's the difference between listening to the Dead with a cheeky sense of humor and thinking that it makes me better than they are when in fact I'm doing nothing to improve the situation.

Ack too much Thomas Merton at an impressionable age...

Doing a little cleaning this morning then going to make the frosting and maybe get the white fondant on the cake. I may wait until both kids are home so I don't have to stop in the middle of what I'm doing.
But going to have a coffee and watch tv first.

We are weathering the weather fine. Snow has passed us by, which is good since we already had enough this winter.

Hmm, let's see...

Hubby finally got my stove installed. Took him five days. Not because of the health issues (although it contributed a little), but because of the way the stove is built and GE's recommendations for electric box.

Friend of dh's came out Saturday and took him out for a spaghetti dinner at an Italian restaurant about 30 miles up in WV. They ordered ONE plate of food, each had two helpings and they brought home enough for the two of us to have dinner the next day.

Sister and her hubby came up Wednesday, brought a huge lasagna, salad, baguettes and carrot cake for dinner.

(Have you noticed this post is food centric?)

Oh, and another friend of dh's came out today to take him up to Lowe's to pick up some drywall. After ten years, dh has decided to finally replace the gawd-awful marlite in the downstairs bathroom with real walls. On the way back, said friend insisted on stopping at the commodities place. we now have more beans, macaroni and rice than any two people can eat in a lifetime. Every time they stop there, we end up with at least four lbs of beans. Can you say BEANO!

What else? Hmm, neighbor who lets his dogs run loose has come over twice to blow snow off the driveway. Guess I can't say anything to him about his dogs now... .

Heard about a craft site that sells stuff super cheap. Not everything all the time, but still. Blitsy.com ($5 Distress Stain--$3.33, Mini Misters 3pk--normally $4 for $3.33, Goosebumps, regularly $6 for $3.99) Unfortunately most of the stuff I wanted was gone but this seems to be indicative of these type of sites. Not a huge savings but it adds up.

Hmm, Dh and oldest got hooked up on Skype. Now we get to see daily happenings/events. Youngest is looking at a house we used to own (to rent) as she's getting a bit tired of living without privacy plus she feels like she's imposing. The good news is she's standing her ground and refuses to listen to almost former husband's pleas to come back and give him another chance. Yeeeeeeeeeee haw!

As for me, I've been fighting a sinus infection, or something, for two weeks. All I do is sneeze and snot.

TMI?

Love and hugs all around!

Rainsong

I'm glad you're back home safely. Freezing stuff on the roads is NOT a good thing.

We woke up to about a half inch of snow on the ground. The roads right around here were good, but they were bad enough in some parts of the county for school to be delayed two hours. DH said he didn't have any problems getting to work.

We are. er... we ARE!

Snow blew right passed us. Thanks for asking.

Gotta go find out why you're working in the vicinity of snobs.

One note about my food centric post--since dh installed the "new" stove, I've only had to cook once.

We had pizza and salad tonight.

Makes clean-up a breeze.

A lot going on, RS. Glad to hear you have so much love around you and nice of the neighbor to come by with his snow blower. Sounds like he's trying at least to keep some sort of cosmic balance there. VERY good to hear about youngest standing her ground. That's a hard place to be. I send her hugs and peaceful white light and prayerful wishes for a peaceful perspective and a clear way forward.

I send all of you warm and white-lit and prayerful wishes and romps and hugs to Abby.

And I wish I had some of your pasta! Yummmmm.
