FIVE???? Seriously, is he old enough to be that old? When did that happen??? LULZ.
V I can't quite get my head around it.
Time.
Weirdness. I guess it must be pretty weird when you're actually the birthday boy's parent.

A couple of them are at about the same point I am. It's funny because one of my friends (on FB of all places) had a quote this weekend about how love means taking people as they are, not trying to make them over into what you think they should be. I guess I'm probably still around because I do love friend enough to understand that he is that way.
I actually don't feel bad kvetching about the situation because I haven't said anything here that I haven't openly shared with friend--and about that bluntly too.
Thank you all for coming by with watering cans and looking in on the spine I'm trying to grow.

Dude. I get that you like to go out with a huge posse all the time. That's totally cool. I like going sometimes, really. But I don't like going all the time and I sure as hell am not one more cardboard cutout you can pose in your adoring group scene. The more you try to turn me into your idea of who I should be, and tell me how irrational I am for not being like you, the less I want to hang out with you.
Sounds good!

Tired little family here but I'll try and pop back later. I just had to post this link. My old stomping ground. I used to live about 10 minutes walk from this car park. It's very exciting news for me. BBC News - Richard III dig: DNA confirms bones are king's
Oh wow. I didn't realize there'd been an outage before. We were all sitting around taking an office pool on whether it was:
1) Chinese hackers
2) Iranian hackers
3) going to be blamed on Obama by a Fox News commentator
4) terrorists trying to destroy our freedom by stopping the Super Bowl
5) Beyonce's halftime show being so good it burned out the circuits
We definitely weren't bored during the 34 minutes, LOL.

SIX! I remember sitting here growing bigger by the day going to the doctors every week for injections in the buttcheek then enjoying two days of utter emotional chaos while the hormones took over then visiting the doctors again for the internal ultra sounds and sharing the experience with all of you. You'll never know how much you all helped me get thru all of that.

Holy mysteriously missing royal cow, ERK!!! I heard about this on NPR yesterday morning but had no idea it was so close to where you'd lived! That's really exciting!

Gack. I feel like I've gotten to watch all of your kids grow up. I'm starting to understand what a bittersweet and profoundly gratifying thing that can be. I guess you miss that with pets: they turn from kittens or puppies into cats or dogs and from there on out it's pretty much steady state for years and years until they get very very old. Maybe that's part of what's so different about the love you have with pets: all those timeless years in the middle where things are so constant and familiar.
On the other hand that whole process of watching something so much more profound than a puppy becoming a mature dog must be so incredibly wonderful and challenging to be a part of, and to live on that day to day level. I appreciate so much more than I did 6 years ago how tough it can be and how much steadiness and love and strength it takes. The chance not just to meet you all but meet your children too has been more of a gift than you know. I'm very, very grateful.

My life is crazy. Crazy to the point that I don't even know how to post and keep everyone in the loop anymore. Just know that I love reading about everyone and I adore you all. Truly, you're often the only constant thing in this crazy life of mine. I know I can come here and be comforted by all of you just by listening to you talk about your lives.

Hmm, that's good. I have some tupperware lids in the sink to be washed. The d/w is about half full. I didn't put my bowl from this morning in the d/w yet.

Another older woman there, if she's still there, calls me "sister" and teases that DD and I could be sisters. Um, okay. She's a sweet little Asian lady, timeless looking, not much you can say to her. Always smiling.
But seriously, if you have your kids really early like say one of my sisters did, then when you are 40 and she is 24, I could see someone saying that maybe. But um, I was almost 37 when DD was born so... I'm kind of old enough to be her grandmother.

Sounds yummy, PH. Not sure what's for dinner here.
I just had another ocular migraine. I had one three weeks ago. Weird. I go years sometimes without one. At least I can see again now. There was lightning interfering with my NCIS rerun watching for awhile, and I couldn't type much here either.
