It's our anniversary on Sunday - yay, Super Bowl. 12th so silk or linen. I'm stumped because other than silk shirts/ties which he doesn't wear, we're downsizing ready for the trip and trying not to spend money anyway. Any ideas??? Just a card?
Its been another eventful week around here. DD had to be taken to the hospital, via ambulance from her game on Monday night. Fun times.
She had a severe asthma attack which led to extreme difficulty breathing, blacking out, muscle cramping, chest pain, etc. We couldn't keep her awake and when she was awake was screaming over chest pain. So, had to call 911.
She's ok now, but that wasn't fun. I had to call the school yesterday(we were at an opponent's school, not our own) and talk to their athletic director as NO ONE from the opposing school could be located and we needed access to first aide and a defibrillator. Luckily the firehouse was directly across the street and was there in five minutes. It was pathetic. I was furious. We have another game at the same school today. I've been guaranteed that the AD will be there today and that this type of situation will never occur again.

Which number is the 'pigskin' anniversary?
You could always ask him what he'd like, given the upcoming travel. It's fun to surprise someone you love so much, but sometimes a good discussion works too.

Occasionally some of the challenges I like to participate in call for glitter as a required element. I HATE loose glitter - like they say, it's the social disease of the crafting world, once you've caught it you can't get rid of it, LOL. Most of my challenge cards end up going to OWH, and I can't use any kind of glitter that flakes off on them. (Glitter can be detected by night vision goggles, and if glitter were to get on a soldier's uniform, it could put him/her at risk of harm.) So I've been making do with Stickles when necessary. But the glitter paper sounds like it would be a really good alternative option to Stickles.
I agree with Wrose that it's great paper, but given the risk, maybe it's not the best way to go even with a great product.

Thanks Bo. She's still doing well. If we keep going weeks or even 10 days between episodes, I'll be very grateful and happy. We're headed to the vet in the morning. I took half a day off.
Ex is meeting me there. I told him what was going on and he asked if he could come. I told him I was fine with that. I know he loves her a lot and he's worried too. A couple of friends gave me a bit of a hard time about that but I don't want to be the sort of person who wouldn't respect how much it took to leave her here with me because he knew that she was happier with her Mom than she would have been with him.

Holy COW Bo. Thank heaven she's ok. I'm not even her Mom and I'm livid. That's absolutely NOT acceptable. For heaven's sake. That's beyond pathetic. It's flat out reckless. I'm just insanely grateful that DD's ok. I hope she's feeling better today.

I wish I could help but it takes me 3 days sometimes to realize someone has texted me.

Oh I don't think she's going to use them for OWH. You just want gliitter that's not loose for those rare times you use glitter, right? I like the stickles too. I have some glitter but I rarely use it because yes, it is herpes. lol
I did know that about glitter, also from BFF2's nephew, when we sent cards to him, he had told us that.
The glimmer paper is a stunning effect. I got a bunch of those snowflake cards out of one sheet.

Ummmm, he's getting HER messages on HIS phone?
All I know is that an iPhone and iPod and iPad can all talk to each other in their own Apple text system.
I know that when BFF would "text" her son from her iPhone, I had been talking about messages and she said yes hers did that. I said, Not to your son, he doesn't have an iPhone. She said yeah! I said no, you are texting him, it's different. Fortunately my DD was around and pointed out to BFF that the color of something on her end was different, when it went to an i-product, than when it went to a non-i-product. The iPhone knows which one to use, because it knows I have an iPod.
So I'm wondering who has what number and is his phone somehow connected to her system? Does she have a phone, an iPhone, no phone, and maybe just imessages are going to him? I mean I know how it works, but not what's weird going on there.
I got it very clear in my head when I went back east in the summer, because I had the iPod but my old phone, so didn't text unless I had to. DD could message me only when I had wifi, though. lol I had to separate in my head - text vs. imessage.
Anyway, I am curious what numbers are linked, because I don't know how it would happen otherwise.

I've completed both with very harsh words. I wish I had time to sit down and explain the full situation. Everyone would have to scrap their jaws off the floor. If I get time I will come back and give all the details. Its ugly. Real ugly. I have to prepare for a school board meeting tonight, but if I get time this afternoon I will come back and explain.

Wrose, in the iMessages settings it allows both dd and DH to send and receive messages from his email, his phone and her phone. I've not updated my phone. I assume its because we all share a joint itunes account and all have iphones and so that's the issue. I, however, have no intentions of updating until this is resolved as I have zero intentions of sharing my messages with DH or DD.

Quick update--just got back to the house from the vet's. Other than the seizures, Molly's in excellent health--weight, blood pressure etc all good, pupils dilate evenly, reflexes all optimal. Vet did full bloodwork battery, we'll have the results Saturday, I have to try and catch a urine sample and run it back up there.
There's still a chance that it may be heartworm-med related. I had a tab of Molly's old heartworm med that never gave her issues--after 2 months without, with Vet's blessing, gave it to her on the 1st of the month and after no seizures in Dec, she started having them again. That should not have happened, so he wants her on no heartworm meds at ALL for next 60 days. Given the time of year, that's not a big risk.
So... at the moment we don't know anything more. I'll let you all know later--need to run, change and head in to the office. Bo, VERY glad everyone got a good talking to.

Sounds good, MO! I hope taking her off the heartworm meds completely is helpful. Is that something that is necessary for a dog to be on daily? I really know nothing about dogs at all, but I do know we never gave any of our dogs any type of medication daily when I was a kid. I didn't know if that was specific to a type of breed or if all dogs need it.

I believe it's just one pill per month.

Or maybe not even a pill, we do a squeeze liquid between the shoulder blades, Revolution was the last stuff we'd used. For a few things, I think. Phantom rarely took pills.
