I have to pay for gas, and next year (this year I won't likely make enough), my own taxes as a sub. We'll have to see how that part works out - it may not be worth it. A few hundred bucks for xmas and Jan/Feb kids' b'days, though - that will be worth it
Whoohoo!!! It sounds like a good match between your schedule and some extra funds. I'm happy for you!

Good, glad you had a safe trip, or as my mom always says, "an uneventful flight" (you can change it to car ride).

Without being too specific, what part of FL are you in?

I got my table cleared, my island cleared and the stove top cleared. There were just a few extra things strewn about and I found places for everything. I want to do some baking tomorrow and then Thursday is the turkey, and even though we don't do an elaborate dinner, there's still a lot of prep space and eating space needed.

Right?

About 10 minutes (depending on traffic) from Tropicana Field.

I just wanted to go ahead and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

I probably won't be around tomorrow, but I will be thinking of you all.

I'm running in a 5k Gobble Wobble at 8 and then going to dad's for lunch. I'll plan my shopping trip in the afternoon and then I'll be planning my shopping trip!

Happy Thanksgiving, Amber and everyone!

I'm cutting herbs and vegies and making the herb citrus rub plus cranberry relish and cranberry chutney plus the pecan pie tonight. Everything else is tomorrow, but it should go together pretty easily.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I expect I'll pop on here and there. Got my hair done today and have watched NCIS reruns and made a pumpkin dessert bar (from a mix) that I'm going to frost; and pumpkin cookies are next, when the beer bread mix comes out. I used soda instead of beer. We'll see how it is.

Pretty quiet day here. DH took me to the one LSS around here that's still in business. I got a few things - a Basic Grey 6x6 pad, a Lawn Fawn number stamp set that coordinates with one of my alphabet sets, and some Gelatos.

MIL bribed my boys into playing their clarinets together. I hate that they had to be motivated that way to do it, but it was great to see them actually do it.

Happy Thanksgiving to the best group of friends a girl could have living in her computer.

I really truly adore you all. Even Amber.
Thank you for everything. Sharing, lessons, laughs, recipes, books, grammar, motivation, support, donations...the list goes on and on. Kinda like Jane.

Love you guys!

So over the last three days I made some food and still ended up being super busy today.
turkey-stuffed with onion, celery and sage
dressing
mashed potatoes
gravy
homemade applesauce
spinach salad
waldorf salad
balsamic glazed sweet onions
sauteed carrots
rolls
bacon cheddar spread with crackers

My brother made spicy deviled eggs (with tabasco--we all liked the old fashioned ones better lol)
and celery filled with olive spread.

There was chocolate chip cookies cheery pie and pumpkin pie for dessert.
I'm exhausted. And somehow I hurt my foot last night so I'm hobbling around like a doofus lol

DH just called. Two more items in hand.
I did some online shopping so this year we aren't scrapping the bottom of the barrel for the character pjs this year. I also scored TWO Legos sets for $29!

Great score on the lego. We got one we wanted for $14 but the other one got sold out as it opened - Amazon. I don't go out on Black Friday, or even Black Thursday.

Last night I did a roast chicken, roast potatoes, baked sweet potato, stuffing, collard greens, carrots, mac n cheese ( requested by the boys) and gravy. Then pumpkin pie ( which I bought on Monday) and an apple crumble. We never cook big on Thanksgiving but DH decided yesterday morning that he'd like the above. I asked if he seriously expected me to go shopping the day before thanksgiving!

I had a chicken in the freezer so grabbed that out, had the veggies anyway, threw some bread in the oven to make breadcrumbs, whipped up a crumble and Bobs your Uncle.

So our Thanksgiving was at the Desert Museum again. It was 80 so not too unpleasant. We had leftovers turned into toasted sandwiches for dinner!

Ours aren't having big presents cos we'll be in an RV next year!
Aren't they to the point where all their precious belongings fit into a totebag? Now that DD has a laptop (and an internet connection) I think she could happily live without everything else but her dog and her colored pencils and pastels with paper. DS needs the computer, internet, Wii, DSi, and assorted games. OK, scooters are nice, too. But we fit those into rollaboard suitcases one summer, so they don't take much room.

I think mine are a little older than yours, though.

Pretty much Alyson. Although they still play for hours with their lego everything else is small. I can see some board games in their futures for RV evenings!
