Okay totally wasn't going to mention the spelling because I don't care. BUT - it kind of set me off on our silly language.
Technically, it should be "speech" but why? Later on you say "speaking" - so why do we change the a to e for "speech"??? I think your way is more logical! No wonder people have so many issues with our language!
actually...that was autocorrected. I kept trying to type "speech" but it kept switching to "speach" so I figured I must have lost my mind and it was actually "speach". HAHAHAHAHA

Cinco's surgery went well. She spent about an hour in the recovery room screaming and crying. The nurse said that was perfectly normal and that she'd likely take a nap and wake up like nothing ever happened. Yup...exactly right. She's been doing great. Drops in her ears a few times a day and a little antibiotic.
Her ears were in rough shape. Dr said he had to drain them of fluid. The entire head of the bed was soaked. Then he put the tubes in and had to spray afrin in her ear to make the muscles contract. Apparently that burns pretty badly. She had some kind of narcotic spray up her nose and a dose of tylenol. Took a dose of motrin before bed and hasn't needed anything since.
Thanks for thinkng of her, everyone!

We are not sure how that's going to affect VT Honor Band. I'm waiting on notice from the band teacher about that.
Of course ODS left both Phoebe and Clari at school. Worst case scenario, he would have to take the alto clarinet or YDS's CWNN to Tech.
Oh man and it's so cold too.

Finally found the trash can I wanted, with a lid. DD kept looking and I said, it's the holidays, nobody cares about trash cans. Today there were four of them. lol
Our old one was well not just old but felt grody and you had to touch it, and even if it was newly cleaned as clean as possible, it still felt icky.
It's a foot pedal one (the new one) so I have to see how DH likes it. I'm going out of my way to use it today to see if it works.

Did I tell you guys that I'm having a "crepe" / tea party Saturday afternoon? My walking group, Leona, and new neighbor. So 6 of us. We'll use French friend's crepe recipe that she taught me.
I have SU hostess club tomorrow night, so tonight have been busy dusting, cleaning, pulling down dishes. I'm doing a pink & white shabby chic type of table.
Satan is not invited to my tea party, E. Anyway she'd freeze up here. I've been wearing a fleece face mask when I walk the dog. That with my puffy down coat, ugly hat with fur flaps, and 2 layers of gloves makes me look like the Michelin man.

Ha ha, yeah that's the look, the Michelin man.

DD and brother spent a few hours together - went to the Irish Pub at downtown Disney for dinner. He's in Orlando for a couple days for something work related, staying at a hotel, and took DD to dinner. They get along well. We all love my brother.

Still no word on school tomorrow. At least this year they've been getting the info out online well in advance of the automated phone call, so that way you're not startled out of sleep when the phone rings.
Hmmm... it was about 6:50 when we got today's call. On a normal school day when they ride the bus, my kids would have been finished with breakfast by then.
The band teachers are not able to go down to Tech with us tomorrow... there's some clause about not being allowed to take students on extracurricular activities when school is closed, or something like that. I don't know the details of it.
So it'll be two other moms and I taking 4 boys and 4 girls. We're still planning to meet at the school early tomorrow morning to hit the road. We should get down there before the next snowstorm starts.
The scary thing is, of the 11 people going tomorrow, the only one with VT Honor Band experience is ODS. And I think I've told y'all before about how directionally challenged he can be.
Goat help us... LOL.
Actually, getting to the place doesn't worry me as much as being able to get the kids registered without their teachers there.

Yeah that's kinda late.
Let us know how it all goes!

Wrose, the twin of that card I just posted on FB has been in my gallery here at SCS since November! LOL But thanks for the compliment. I do appreciate it.
Both of the one on FB and the one here are two of my favorite cards from 2012.
We *should* be able to get into the band room tomorrow morning so that ODS can get Phoebe. I'm going to suggest to him to grab Clari too just in case.
ODS told me tonight that at least one other student left her instrument at school last night, too.
And then the two boys from the middle school play euphonium and tuba. So the middle school band teacher made some arrangement to make sure they'll be able to pick up their instruments at the high school tomorrow morning.
We have quite a range of instruments this year... two clarinets, an oboe, a flute, a bassoon, a tuba, an euphonium ("an" euphonium sounds weird when you hear it mentally), and then there's one percussionist going so I guess she just needs to take sticks and mallets.
We are hoping there won't be a delayed start for school tomorrow. That way I can make sure YDS gets on the bus before ODS and I have to head over to the high school.
Between the weather, a late-minute room assignment change, and the spiteful red-haired aunt arriving almost 2 weeks earlier than I expected, this is turning into one big stressful event. But it'll be fun.
Marge, your crepes and tea party sounds like yummy fun!
E, I'm sorry your momster is being herself again.
Wrose, I'm glad your DD enjoyed her visit with her uncle, and that you got to FaceTime with her again. Have you done that with your DS yet? (eww - that almost sounds naughty, ROFL)

Cool! Well considering how often I'm on FB, I'm glad I caught the card there! But now I can go to your gallery and fave it!!

I have not but since I don't have a smart phone with data plan, DD and I used our Apple connection, her phone, my Touch. DS has a Galaxy so is not part of the happy Apple family connection now. lol

Ah, OK.
Well I'm outta here. Need to get what sleep I can tonight so I can drive tomorrow. I'm not good at sleeping with other people in the room, so I'm not sure how well I'll do in the hotel room with 3 people I barely know.
Have fun, and I'll check in when I can. Love you girls.

Omigoat Bo! I seriously think the folks who program autocorrect smoke crack rocks. My phone keeps trying to change 'autocorrect' to 'autocrat,' which in a strange way makes perfect sense. When I was trying to post stuff on FB from my phone last week in Polish (names, cities) the poor thing about had a nervous breakdown. It was like those scenes from Star Trek where Spock would make computers rant 'illogical... illogical...' and then smoke would come out of the back and they'd blow up.

Oh good! I HAD to come check on Cinco!
Now all you need is a narcotic for you

Looks like my brother took 95 down (DH and I heard McGee say "the I-95" in an old episode the other day). So he didn't get near Charlotte, spent a night in Selma. He's very much enjoying Florida. Said he woke up chilly, left the a/c too low. HAHAHA

Ha ha ha, autocrat indeed.
I hate when it changes the last word after I've been zipping along and I am hitting send just as I realize it's changed..... ARGH
