So each night after she got off the exit, she called, not finding the motel. I was waiting for tonight's call. Sure enough, she was off the exit and not finding the right street. She turned in to a Sportsplex instead of the street, I guess that was confusing at night.
And she's sick so that doesn't help. At least now I have the map up before she calls! Last night, I knew right where she was and what to tell her!
I love that she has so many folks looking out for her. I know you must miss her and Pippin but I hope both of you can feel that love following her East all the way.

And the Outbacks from my year and around then are in all the used car lists as Do Not Buy because of the transmission problem we had last year.

Well next door neighbours pipes burst. Thank goodness ours get the sun in the morning.
Ironically, he works in the plumbing department at Home Depot...... they are both out right now and I couldn't get hold of him at work. Other neighbour and I turned the mains off so that helps some and we left a note on the door.

I told DD about that - I remember in Atlanta being told, leave the pipes dripping. Leave cabinets in kitchens open so the home heat gets in there... Where I grew up, unnecessary, everything was built to withstand the cold. I vividly remember one day walking to school (about 4 blocks) and my knees were red because we wore skirts and knee sox and it was 6°. It wasn't even snowing. But that cold of snow is always kind of crispy, isn't it?

I'm trying to remember my trip to Atlanta when I was 26, all my stuff in the back of a good friend's truck. He was headed back to school at Georgia Tech. (I've kind of lost touch with him and his wife.) Anyway, nice guy. We left bright and early new year's day 1979, all my stuff was packed up and tied down in the back of his old pickup truck. We drove it in one day. That was where we stopped at a diner in maybe south carolina? and the waitress asked in a heavy heavy drawl where we were from. Friend said "Pennsylvania" because we were actually from opposite ends of the state, and the waitress said, oh do you know "insert name" ? He lives in Pennsylvania.

There have been a lot of little chores the last few weeks that went undone because of other distractions. I made a whole pot of coffee. Only on second cup though.

I cleaned out the inside of the fridge, the bottom shelf and bins and under them. The shelf with the milk on it always has to be wiped regularly. It gets icky.
I set a folded piece of kitchen roll underneath the milk container then replace when it gets icky. Much easier than wiping it all the time.

I used to buy four gallons at a time and of course one whole half the shelf was always icky. Now I might buy two if I'm low enough and the date is good. I generally have 16-20 ounces a day myself. How many cups in a gallon? 16?

i did make sure the kitchen sink was cleaned though... and that the dishwasher was unloaded.
