You know what's fun is my dad has millions. He could just help my gma and let her live in peace thru her last days in that house.
But we wouldn't want that now would we?

It would cause so much less disruption to all of you. Any chance this will die a death like last time?

Not sure. Doubtful. SHe's 95 I thought she'd eventually turn the house over to me or sell it on the cheap. Good luck to them selling that old cinderblock house with no upgrades since the 50s.

Gawd, it's supposed to be colder again tonight. It's currently 40 but wind chill makes it 32. I'm driving to pick up cello kid and drop off violin kid.

Awww. Well kids are usually pretty resilient. And esp. when the parents have a positive attitude. Is school a consideration?

Yeah we thought we were over the worst of it and then it got really cold overnight, and again freezing the next night. Last night I'm not sure if we got to freezing right here or not, it was around 34 when I went to bed. Now we're finally headed out of it.

Right now not. I think I can keep ZAch in and Jacob might be registered in time at this address. There are kids who go to z's school that have moved out of the city. Basically once they are in they are in sort of thing.

I know I couldn't hack it

Well really colder you are more prepared. None of the winter coats I have now compare to what I had in PA growing up. Unless you're into the snow sports, here in the bay area you don't need a real winter coat. Why spend the money?

At 2 p.m. here she was 30 miles short of Mobile, AL. She said she had some rain; actually she said "holy hell it rained good there for a bit."

She had a goody bag from E and was eating some Fig Newtons. How'd you know she liked them?

She said she felt like she was making good time. Her ears were being weird from the cold and she had a tissue stuffed up her nose most of the drive, she said. HAHAHA

DD had one snowsuit as a baby because an idiot friend sent it. Never used it.

A friend who had her baby a few months ahead of me used to tell me how it would take them so long to get their baby ready to go out in the cold, and then she's poop and my friend would have to undo it all, change her, and redress.

I never had to deal with that.

She's still not there yet. Discovered the time doesn't change at the border. Not til you get below the line between Georgia and Alabama.

V, Awesome job on your weight loss (and can I not squelch your enthusiasm by saying that I figured that was what your news was about when you mentioned it last week?)!!!

And I'm sorry your dad is being such a butt.

No, no it isn't. We got down to 19 overnight and tonight is supposed to be even colder. It's already 32/24 with windchill....... my poor orange tree still has fruit to ripen and my lemon and lime are covered in blossom.

I hope they survive and don't lose all their blossoms. Dang, 19 is pretty cold for here, even.

Hopefully the gas company is better prepared than 2 years ago when they cut our supply ( along with the other 10,000 homes here in our neighbourhood) for 4 days.
