the area is great - safe and nice - a bit traffic-y. but a good location if you are staying here 2-3 days. you'll be close to the woodworking thing, down the street from some fun for the boys, down the street from the space center, down teh street from me... and don't forget down the street from sonic...

That's great info. DHs old teacher does wildlife tours/stuff on Galveston, too.

In other animal news I am seriously getting the phone records out to make sure Molly, Allie bean and Sonny don't have a bookie. Came downstairs and the three of them were sitting in the chairs very attentively watching the New England-Houston game. They moved before I could get a pic but that was so cool!!! I half expected Dad to be sitting on the sofa with them cussing out the Texans for not beating the spread!

E, DD has a cold. I thought it sounded like it last night. She has a fever now. I will tell you, she ALWAYS gets a fever with a cold. When they were kids, she'd have to stay home for several days, and poor DS would NOT get a fever and maybe get one day home if it was bad enough.
So everyone, take your zinc!
She's got Nyquil and asked if I'd packed any Dayquil but I had not.
What a trip.

i have advil cold and sinus - can i give her some? i can run to the store - it is LITERALLY in my back yard.
though i guess she's old enough to tell me what she can/can't and wants to take - i'll send dh to the store when she gets here with a list.

I told her about the poop, she was happy!
poor baby. i wish she could have come in yesterday and spent the day with me today. she would have loved texas - but she's driven a LONG way in the cold rain so i can imagine...
her 12 hours will be warm bed, good dinner and loving attention from a 70 lb manic dog! lol! hope that makes her feel better! lol!

Good idea. She might appreciate the DayQuil tomorrow. I have Advil Cold & Sinus but I don't think she's taken it? She prefers liquid, not much for piills. Still cuts small pills in half!

ODS has been cracking me up today. He said that if he ever breaks a bone, he's going to be sure he does it while DH and I are still paying for his health insurance. I guess because that can be planned, ya know? LOL
We're watching the Golden Globes and he's pronouncing the name of the guy who plays Jean Valjean in the movie as "Hugh Jack Man" - as in the person on a NASCAR pit crew who raises and lowers the car so the tires can be changed.
Then, for Christmas my BIL made my parents a wall hanging out of wood; it's a tree carved in a snowflake pattern, stained and stuck onto a lighter piece of wood. Mom didn't know where to hang it so she has it laying on an end table in the living room. YDS asked me why she had a cutting board in the living room.
As I was laughing about that, he corrected himself, and asked why there was "a thing to put hot dishes on" there. Still funny.
