So yes I realized su recycled images... I didn't realize until this weekend while finishing up my unmounting. How much they did. I won't be buying many stamps for a while! They tease me with the matching dies. But I'm using my cricut a lot more and it's much easier to transport...

Good grief at the junk I wish y'all were closer!!!!

Yep, I hear ya. I love flower sets and would buy them all - if they were all different. There was a set I got maybe ten years ago, big roses, and those images (most of them) were in another set a few years ago, and I believe are for the most part in a current set. Sigh. Sorry but I'm not spending that to pay for something I already have.

OMG, Kathy, Cookie has eaten my two pairs of my glasses! I now take him everywhere I go - he may not sit in the family room or bedroom when I leave. New definition to attachment parenting, LOL.

I'd never seen any production of it before, and I've never read the book, so I don't have that perspective for saying whether the movie was done well or poorly.

I knew it was a musical, but I didn't expect 99.75% of the dialogue to be sung.

After seeing and hearing "I Dreamed a Dream" in the context of the story, the lyrics make a lot more sense to me now.

I thought they gave Amanda Seyfried a lot of dog notes in her songs. I like her voice better in a lower register - like in Mamma Mia.

I kept waiting for Sacha Baron Cohen to say/sing "Monsieur Bobby". LOL

I don't think the short hair is flattering on Anne Hathaway.

I read that the girl who played Eponine beat out Taylor Swift for the part. Thank goodness.

Russell Crowe's singing isn't quite as bad as Pierce Brosnan's. LOL All the ledge scenes started getting to me.

And not related to the movie itself - this was the first time I've ever seen the movie theatre owner speak to the audience before the movie started. He greeted everyone with a "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year", and politely asked people to move toward the center so that latecomers could more easily find seats at the ends of the aisles instead of crawling over people. He said there was nothing interesting or surprising at the end of the credits, so there was no real need to stay and watch all of them. LOL And he joked about how everyone should speed home afterwards to give the police officers some chasing work to do.
I like a couple of Taylor Swift's songs but I don't think she has a Broadway musical voice. A fun pop voice, absolutely. I wonder if one day she'll grow up and write a song that does not involve teenage heartbreak. I actually like the couple of songs of hers that I like because they really do evoke that sweet, lovestruck 14 year old sense of hope and perpetual expectation but I don't think I could take a whole album of it. Or if I needed a whole album of it I'd listen to the original Barry Manilow soundtrack from that period of my life, LOL... just throw in a couple of Fleetwood Mac songs and England Dan and John Ford Coley singing 'Really Love to See You Tonight.'

Wow. I've NEVER had a dog eat my glasses. I admit I'm very protective about them, they are never within reach of a dog. Been wearing them for almost 50 years.

DD went to see the live show of How to Train Your Dragon this afternoon.

On the way out to intermission, the main dragon, Toothless, got stuck/broken. After over an hour, they called it - refund or come to the 5 p.m. show.

Utter chaos. She keeps texting me. She went alone, she's fine, wants to stay. They said they have NEVER had to refund anything there, ever. She figures she might have her ticket for the 5 p.m. show before it starts. Meanwhile, people from that show will be arriving......

This time Sonny had help from the cat, who fished glasses out of little cave in stack of books on bedside table and dropped them on the floor.

Oh well, lesson learned... yet again. ONLY closed drawer in nightstand will work.

Yup. I already bought the $35 set once. NOT buying another one only to buy the $26 dies that go with it. Cool idea to do the dies, but I'd have to like something a WHOLE lot to keep spending that much.

Plus since I've kept all the old stuff, at this point I have so much paper and so many stamps and embellishments that even if I never spent another cent I could probably still make cards for the rest of my life.

Although I WILL be getting the new set with the lobster in it. I was going to make this the last year for our crustacean friends, but when I told the framping buddies here they all said NO and made me promise I'd keep doing them.

Which is kind of funny given that at 3rd or 4th retreat, Debbie organized a bunch of our friends to kidnap all my lobster friends and send ransom notes... the plot was foiled but we all laughed about it for years!

Well I have to go to work on Monday. I'm sure they'll let us all go home a few hours early.

And then Tuesday is a holiday.

But it's 4:40 and they haven't let anyone in yet. "Delayed."

Dragon problems!! Who'd a thunk it???

She said there are thousands of people outside, but at least they're blocking the wind.

You CAN'T quit with the lobster cards! They are so uniquely Jane. I ♥ that about them.

That's too funny about the lobster-napping.

And I completely hear you about not buying anything else new and still being able to make cards for years and years to come.

Guess they need to train that dragon better. LOL

Bummer about the first show being messed up and the second one being cancelled. I guess they will try to fit in another showing or two to make up for today's mishaps?

The animated movie for Train your Dragon was really cute.
Yes it was, and Craig Ferguson voiced one of the Scots! He also did a voice in "Brave."

She's home now and we're going for pizza shortly. She's cold and hungry!

She will have to get hers at the ticket office, as she didn't get her ticket online. No problem. It's near where DH works, so they can arrange to have lunch together one day before she leaves.

I would get one in a heartbeat if we didn't have two homes to deal with.

Missing you guys. Reading along but just busy or tired or well, basically those two.
My uncle's been in the hospital so I"ve visited him a bit, then kids are home, and work is just now slowing down but I'm getting *** crack of dawn hours lately. Oh and someone was murdered and dropped on the golf course about two blocks from my house so that's kinda insane.

Anyway, hi. Looking forward to a new start a new year all that comes along with all of that.

For the Les Misérables fans. Warning: contains lots of words that would be censored on SCS, and possible spoilers.

oops - I misunderstood MO's post. I didn't realize Sonny was the glasses eater...

I (used to!) keep an old pair of glasses on my bedside table and another pair in a compartment of a basket next to where I sit in the family room. I don't wear my glasses all the time, but need them to program DVRs and to drive - I kept wanting them and they were in a different room or out in the car, so I scattered the old ones. When I left for a bathroom break (both times!), Cookie grabbed them and played with them. No idea why, LOL.

I'm waiting until Jan health care reimbursement fund $ kick in, then I'll use my Rx to get a new pair of glasses. Besides getting reimbursement for out-of-pocket via the HCR, we also have a small vision benefit that works with some retailers. We found that Walmart (where I never shop ordinarily) had the best package price for us. I got glasses and sunglass clips for me and transition lensed glasses for DD for a total of $120 out-of-pocket, and the frames were all brand name.

(babble inspired by brandy-spiked egg nog - I made sushi for the extended family - all 10 of them - tonight and I am now relaxing, I mean relaxed ).
