Anyway, I have no desire to see it. Saw it downtown about 20 years ago, live musical production. Was bored to tears.

So Sister and I are heading to Target and Kohls. Then she wants to go to Burlington Coat Factory and look for a new black pea coat. Why does she pick these places that are all 30 minutes away?

OK, success. Sister found a coat she likes. No small feat. She's going to wear it home and wants me to give the old one to charity.

lol!

i'm weeding out, cataloging them, naming them, and then figuring out which ones i want to scrap...

actually the scrapping part will be done later - mostly just renaming them first and then deleting the really bad ones or hte 50 shots of the same butterfly....

after i do that then i'll go back and start culling them for scrapping.

with all of our old storage systems - i've also noticed htat we have 3 and 4 copies of the same pictures. i would download the camera and then dh would download the camera... and then he'd make a copy to give to someone and all 3 sets would end up on teh harddrive....

I liked it and thought it was well done. (Except for when Ann sang I dreamed a dream). She did a beautiful job on it. I had no idea she had such a good voice... But the close-up was toooooooo close-up and all I could do was look at her teeth....

I'd probably give it 7 stars as opposed to your dd's 4 though... My girls loved it

They did need an intermission though. Good grief! I love the longer movie. It's like I'm fianally getting what I paid for but my bladder is too small for tht! Lol.
Ha ha ha! Yes, her focus is on voice. I guess the casting director didn't give as much attention to strong singers as she would have. lol

Who are singers that could also do the movie? There were a lot of big names in it, but none of them known for their singing. Interesting how they choose, eh?

On that note, we know that Pippin is still in touch with the Corgi home world. Every now and then, he gets a message that just says, apparently, "run!" and so he does. 90 mph. Back and forth, up and down stairs, halls, rooms, furniture.....

on a happy note - i have been combining the pictures from my laptop to the server adn deleting pictures off my computer... so i have a ton more space on it.... i'm just terrified if the server goes down...

we need a backup of the backup....

after this is over, i'm tempted to burn a bunch of disks... just so that we would have it.

i'd be devastated if i lost france or other vacations.... not so much all the swim meets. but there are a lot of pictures that would crush me...

I need to order a few more DVD cases so that I can get them all stored. That is on ,y list of things to do today.
That sounds awesome.

I am feeling more normal today (wonderful effect of enough sleep), and am starting to cluster the Christmas stuff; I had DS bring buckets in before he left. I know I can't lift them all back, if DD and I can do it together, I'll put them back, otherwise, they'll get stacked somewhere inside. My plan is to start tossing or shipping (lol) stuff so I have room to stash the items we want to actually keep and use and have access to.

And yes it can be overwhelming, so I'm not looking too far ahead.

When we do the kitchen update, I will be needing a place to put dishes and food and pots and pans, right?

Ha ha ha! I'm loving your commentary today!

I keep stopping for a quick break too. It's nice when there are people on here posting, keeps me going.

I'm not ready to take down all the Christmas stuff yet, but I'm gathering up some of the stuff. The tree still looks petty.

Hmm, DD had a lot of "her" ornaments hanging in her room, I wonder if she'll want me to box them up now. I have the boxes, and could just separate hers out into a bag, until I see how much there is and what size box works.

w00t! For the kids to play in??? IBM did that for its employees kids a couple times, and Target did it when they opened a brand new store very close to us, back in the mid 90s.

And that was all the snow my kids had experienced until we moved out here. In spring of 1998 we drove east into the Sierra, and pulled off when we got to snow, and played in it.

Yes, or so I was told, by another grad student who was from Ohio, in the mid 70s. I had no idea. I always thought the Midwest was like past the Mississippi. I guess I hadn't thought about it.

Where does she live, a big metro area? When I was in Atlanta, people would drive 30 minutes for just about anything, then when we moved to Florida, a string of small towns, it became "a chore" to drive to the next town, even though it was only ten minutes away! I noticed how the perception of a long drive changed......

The actors/actresses get soooo much money making movies. And they get free stuff too, by the way why? There are " gift" parties for these people to pick out whatever is there, like $20,000 watches and free lux vacations. But these people get paid so much money, they can buy stuff. And then there are those stupid golden globes, screen actor guild award shows. These people get paid way too much to entertain us and then we turn around and give them more gifts. Why? I have not been to a movie in 16 years.

More coffee. DH at work. He's been going in most Saturdays, but he's been leaving at lunch time every recent Friday for PT on his shoulder, then just comes home. Yay for billable hours.

My criteria for going to a movie are very high; I didn't see any of the LOTR in the theater, which horrified my family. I think the young people, professionals, are keeping the big metroplexes in business in the cities. Disposable income. Then there are people like me, who go once every few years. I saw Star Trek in the theater because I wanted to see the special effects. DD goes to see a movie she likes, more than once. She paid to see The Hobbit on opening night at an IMAX theater, including waiting in line for hours. She plans to see it again.

My reason for not seeing LOTR in theaters was simply that I didn't want to be that close to the ugly parts. There's a lot of fighting. Oh and more fighting. And then another war. And then some creatures climbing a mountain.

But yeah it's like sports. As long as there are enough people to support it, to pony up the big bucks, then the pros will continue to make as much money as movie stars.

That said, I think DH and I might go to see Jack Reacher; even though it's Tom Cruise, I've read almost all the books, and I just can't help myself; I want to see how it is on the screen.

I think DH and DD will see The Hobbit together, but I'll pass.

At least it's not hundreds of pictures, and duplicates because they just happened, of each woodworking project from 500 different angles....... We have a copy on the hard drive, copy on disk, and now we have them all on the cloud, too. Should be fairly safe.

Yes. It had melted a lot but they still managed to hold a miniature snowman building competition!
