I need to make a master grocery list of all the things I need for Christmas get togethers at my house, baking and meals over the break. DH and all kids will be home for about two weeks. I feel a massive grocery bill coming on. *SIGH*

I also need to prepare my final list of things I need to buy for Christmas gifts.

We are having Bbaby's birthday party this weekend. She is three. Can you believe it? I can't. Just seems impossible. Simply impossible. I keep asking her what she wants to have for treats, snacks or dinner. She only wants cupcakes. LOL. Hoping she branches out a little bit.

toes moving around - took advil. feeling good. going to eat an early supper and maybe pop a vidodin to knock me out and put me to bed. else i'm going to be itching to get up and walk around.

a bit worried about tomorrow morning - i have to be wrapped up to shower - can't get my foot wet and i'm not going to drive so i have to schedule around dh....

i think once i get to school i'm going to be fine. but it's the getting there (on time) that i'm concerned about.

we'll see.

just took a vicodin - about to head off to bed. though i'm wide awake.

i'll finish addressing christmas cards to several of my at risk students. i had actually made about 20 cards thinking that i'd send them out to friends and family - but after an incident with a couple students last weekend (them not me) i thought that they needed teh christmas cards moreso than 20 friends of mine. i started out going to just send it to the 4 that got in trouble but then it snowballed into more. i'll probably make 20 more this weekend and send them out too. heck - i'll probably go ahead and make 100 more and give them to all of my students - well, maybe not.

I have no idea if I'll get cards out. I am just thrilled that I'm going to bed tonight with no dirty dishes. That's about what I can handle lately lol

exactly... lol.

i have one design that i can whip out in about 30 seconds (well longer than that) it's nothing fancy and very little stamping. so that's what i'll probably use if i make more... i think i can con dd into helping me since i just got told i have to make a yule log for monday since "i'm the best cook in class" i also have to make about 30 pounds of fudge this weekend. i KNEW i shoudl ahve done that last weekend... that's not something i can really do sitting down. hope dh doesn't mind helping there...

i'll probably just do 10-20 more this weekend and be done. i really don't see me doing 100 more.

did i send y'all cards last year? i foudn a stack of them in one of the cabinets i cleaned out over thanksgivign

i THINK they were the ones that dh was supposed to send to his family. i hope i remember saying since i picked out the pictures, made the card (it was a photo card too) and had them printed and picked them up - i'd address my friends and family - he coudl address his...

I KNOW he didn't send out any to his family - i'm just hoping i actually sent them out to my friends...

Wrose! I finally tried that PB2 stuff. They sampled it in the store. I thought it would be awful, but it was pretty good. Also got some Arctic Zero low calorie ice cream and lentil chips - yummy.

I've just decided to change my Christmas card design. Yes, really. I no longer have the patience nor time to color approximately 59 more penguins.

Only question is, it's not TOO tacky if the sentiment on the front of the card is in a different font than the sentiment inside the card, is it?

My cousin did too and said that although the attention tto detail was superb it has no business being 3 movies and that they made a bunch of stuff up and were milking it...

Still going on Saturday. Lol.

DD threw her back out earlier in the day. So she was slightly drugged (not too much; had to drive) and said that seeing it on the IMAX was "too much" - the motion and stuff - and not that it made her dizzy but was just uncomfortable for her. So she would close her eyes - and admitted to dozing off briefly a few times!

She'll see it again though; she loves that stuff.

I thought she said they pulled stuff from the Silmarillion and appendices or something (?) - but then I'm not the "expert" lol. I'll ask her about that tomorrow. She just went up to bed and I'm heading off now too.

Goodnight!

from what i understand they did too - hence how legolas got in the hobbit...

i still don't like that much deviation from the original story - especially since it's one that i read at least yearly.

both of my girls had to read it for school this year....

i think we're all going saturday.

How did she do? Was it the 48fps or the standard. Heard all sorts of things about people getting motion sickness from the fast film. When we go it can't be IMAX - makes me sick every time- but it can be the 3D as long as it's the 24fps one.

DD and I got to Costco to pick up a cake for her birthday, she's napping but some friends are coming over later. Then I took DS for his last California haircut. He drove, I went along because we had a couple errands to run after that.

Very overcast and dripped on me when I got the mail a little while ago.

I had to substitute for one of the preschool teachers today. There's a new child in the class who came in since the last time I was in there.

Let's just say that putting him in the same class as one particular other student created a volatile mix. And the two of them are inseparable.

I haven't watched it. I was at school with 5th grade when the teacher heard from her hubby. Once the kids had gone to PE we checked the BBC news on my phone. Basically saw the headline and all of us who were in the room cried.

There's a dry erase board in the teachers' workroom where messages pertaining to the school are left - i.e. "Fire drill today", "Assembly at 1:30 pm", birth announcements when a teacher has a baby or grandchild born, notices if a teacher has a death in her family, that sort of stuff. Back in the day, I would add reminders of Box Top collection days. lol Anyway, there wasn't anything unusually eye-catching on it this morning.

Around 11:00, the principal came on the intercom and announced, "Code Yellow". That's the code for an intruder alert. So the aide and I pulled the shades and turned the lights off (the door was already closed) and called the students to sit on the carpet until the "Code Green" was sounded.

I didn't say anything to the aide about it, but I thought it was unusual since I hadn't noticed a note about it on the white board this morning.

Now I wonder if it was a drill in reaction to what happened in Connecticut.
