I'm up! It's chilly here at night, I hate getting out from under the covers.

Sharks won again. Their new rookie, Hertl, scored in the first minute of the game, but took a hit in the second period and left and didn't come back. He skated off, left his gloves and stick on the ice and with no break in place, everybody skated around them awhile.

He'll be 20 next month. He's the one that had four goals in that rout last week.

They're calling him Teenage Mutant Ninja Hertl.

I like to see him Hertl-ing across the ice.

Then I remember an old TV show that I never saw but saw listings for - Shark Boy. That would be another good nickname cos he has such a baby face.

So I looked up Shark Boy and IMDB tells me it was a movie, Shark Boy and Lava Girl.
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D (2005) - IMDb
And look who played Shark Boy! Taylor Lautner! Jacob the Wolf from the Twilight Movies!

I don't think it would be gross. Need some Corgi fur? lol

I missed Tuesday here! Well, the BFFs are coming to stamp Wed. so I was just tidying up and touching up the guest bathroom. I keep it in good order so it's not a big deal. Emptied the trash, stuff like that. Then the stamping room, the table needed to be cleared. But that was after I realized what to do to rescue the last card I came up with - so I did that before, during and after the Sharks game (we beat the unbeaten St. Louis Blues) in St. Louis, 4-0 they had two guys tossed and we had one taken out on a wheeled gurney and gone to hospital and people are relieved he's alive. Dan Boyle.

Anyway. During one break, we ran to Pizza Hut to pick up dinner, which I'd ordered online. Perfect timing. Then the game was over ten minutes before NCIS was on. Watched that, did a little email and stuff on commercials, then after NCIS LA I finished up the bathroom, the decor too, finished getting the halloween stuff out (just a few things); and then got the table sorted out and cleared off. It'll be an interesting morning, they can get creative!

We are still unbeaten. Our rookie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Hertl, didn't score, but he did play.

The guy that hit and hurt Hertl (sorry, I can't stop) got a three game suspension.

I mean he hurtled himself at Hertl.

Latest word is that Boyle should be okay. They are keeping him in hospital overnight for observation.

The team plays in Dallas Thursday, that's not too far from St. Louis, so if he's okay he might want to join back with them; I wonder if they'll make him wait. They are more cautious about concussions these days I think.

Hey Wrose, if that rookie player ever decides to give up hockey and do track instead, I bet he could run the hurdle races.

She's the one that likes to go snooping around in people's courtyards when they are not home, looking for violations. I have a big padlock on my back fence, specifically to keep her out.

I subbed this afternoon for one of the aides. It was a pretty easy afternoon. But I swear, some of the kindergarteners this year could talk the ears off a cornfield.

Man, the Sharks lost their first game of the season tonight, in Dallas. It was tied, so we still earned one point, then OT then the shootout. Lost in the shootout.

But I guess nobody ever goes 82-0 on the season.

The Colorado Avalanche was the only other team without a loss til tonight, and they lost outright.

Yo Pondies.

Went to the doctor this morning. I made an appt. online late last night after deciding my arm wasn't going to get better on its own, since it's been getting slowly worse since mid August.

Got a flu shot, and a tetanus shot (been more than ten years), and they want to give me a Shingles vaccine (new, for over 60, ugh am I that old?) but are waiting a week on that so as to not give me too many at once.

I was also due for annual blood work so did that, and picked up Rx for large dose ibuprofen to fight an inflammation in the shoulder and then we work on strengthening the muscles. Sigh. This could be a long process.

Kinda busy weekend in store here.

Tonight is our homecoming football game. We're playing the team who sent two of our players to the hospital a couple years ago, and then last year we squeaked out a win at their homecoming game. Apparently they lost some good players to graduation because their record this year is 3-3. Ours is 3-4 (we haven't had a bye week yet). So hopefully we'll come out with a win tonight.

Tomorrow is our biggest band competition of the year. We'll be up against 8 other bands in our class. We've seen some of them already this year and unless they've made huge improvements over the last month or so, I think we can come out ahead of them. But we'll also be up against some of the schools with more money to pour into the fine arts programs, so I realistically don't expect us to come home with lots of awards, either. We have a fairly early performance time, before noon, and 4th in order in our class, but the awards won't be presented until closer to 1:30. (I don't recall the exact time and don't feel like looking it up, sorry, lol.)

Tomorrow night is the homecoming dance. ODS is going with his girlfriend.

Had a fun day in Wisconsin today. We left early (7:15am) and got to Madison in good time. The huge farmers market lived up to everyone's expectations and then some! Let's just say the trunk was full coming home, and we have photographic evidence
The weather held out, crisp & chilly but we were prepared. No rain sprinkles till we got back to the parking garage. What timing.

At about 1:30pm we had finished the market and made a last minute decision to detour to New Glarus (aka Little Switzerland) for fondue. And a lovely bottle of Swiss wine. That was fun.

We saw vegetables that we had never heard of before. Also we got cool kale flowers for $1. Veggie prices were very reasonable and everything locally grown. My haul included flowers, fingerling potatoes, rainbow carrots, chocolate peppers, purple peppers, wax beans, mini bok choy, spaghetti squash, tomatoes, mini zucchini and more (a pasta veggie saute seems to be on the menu tomorrow). Also maple butter, some cheeses, and ground cherries (the sweet little tomatoes in the papery covering). I also got about a dozen homemade jams to give to my dept co-workers at Christmas.

Tired (but a good tired). And no speeding ticket today.

I will say that I had one casualty. The loaf of cheesy Italian pull apart bread that I got for Steve was instead eaten by Shadow. After I unloaded my stuff from the garage I set the tote bags on the kitchen floor. I went back out to move the car in. When I came back a certain furry bear looked awfully guilty.

Delicious. We're going to try and find farmers markets on our journey so we get some good, fresh veggies.
