Tomorrow: morning free (maybe some stamping?) and lunch & afternoon in Chinatown.

Back from Chinatown. Jane had an adventure in the Chinese grocery store. Now making chrysanthemum tea to relax before dinner.

We did have a chance to play with my Dylusions ink sprays and stencils before we left today. Fun, fun and somewhat addictive.

I think Tony is playing a guy in maybe mid thirties. They aren't specific but just going by his behavior. In the early seasons, he was seemingly playing someone barely 30. I'm just curious how he might start to show his age in the next five years, and what they'll do with it. Mark Harmon just turned 62, I believe, so it would be weird to have Tony suddenly be playing a real 50 year old. So yeah I'm curious.

Glad to see Marge and Jane doing well and having fun. After a very humid holiday weekend, it was quite cool and not humid today. Nice!

Hey nobody said Happy Birthday to PH!!!!!!!!! I know she got my card cos she told me in person.

I was brain dead when we met, though. Short on sleep and long hours on the road so I probably wasn't my usual sociable and amusing and entertaining entity..... but it was so nice to meet her. It was a very quick meet too.

Anyway just dropped by to catch up again.

(Belated) Happy Birthday, PH!!

We got back home from our road trip last night. Boy did we have a fun time. I'd travel with Jane any time! And her snoring is overrated! Lots of beautiful water views, lots of cheese and lots of laughter.

Let's see: highlights of the trip --
Last Saturday - Jane bounces down hallway at O'Hare, meets walkers, Kane County Flea Market, finds an Alaska treasure, and we scarf down 2/5 of a kitchen sink sundae. Photo op with the holy cow.

Sunday - downtown Chicago, Art Institute, Gino's deep dish pizza, and LSD

Monday - Chinatown and stamping, 6 grownups squished into Leona's car

Tuesday - drive to Door County WI, eat lunch in Belgium, found Marge a boyfriend and Jane a broasted chicken, , drove through Poland & Denmark, Sturgeon Bay and 2 lighthouses, dinner in Pooh's corner bar because everything closes at 8pm, great B&B

Wednesday - drive all over Door County, more lighthouses, state parks, stores, fantastic picnic on the dock at Ephraim overlooking Green Bay, and fish boil for dinner. Waddled home past Church of the Atonement

Thursday - drive to Upper Peninsula MI (Munising), see the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, sunset cruise on Lake Superior to see the painted cliffs, dinner at DogPatch

Friday - drive home, another lakeside picnic at Koehler State Park in WI, a little playing in the stamp room last night and lots of postcard writing.

1000 miles, 98 chocolate covered dried Door County cherries, 79 impressionistic paintings, 9 Georgia O'Keefes, 9 new Door County rubber stamps, 3 new stencils, 2 stamping pox quarantine signs, 2 Great Lakes, 3 states, 2 time zones, 3 new stamping techniques, 2 scrumptious omelets with cream cheese and LSD seasoning, 2 mini ATC necklaces, 1 very large reflective bean, lost count of cups of coffee and stops to pee, and an infinity of good cheer and friendship.

Marge, it sounds like you both had a wonderful time. And you drove 1/10th of our entire trip in less than a week.

ERK, I just delivered Jane safely at O'Hare for the flight home.

We both agree that on your RV trip, definitely leave lots of time for WI and MI. Door County cherry blossoms in the spring. The Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore was amazing. Lots of Nat'l Lakeshore parks around WI & MI too (sand dunes, etc). Hiawatha National Forest in Michigan UP by the Pictured Rocks -- camping, trails, etc

We're going to be in that area mid to late June. Really weren't intending to do MI though. Plans are fairly flexible still though.

And some new toys for me

And some cows for Jane. She really is wondering where all that cheese comes from given we did not see that many cows. Our theory is they don't like sand between their toes so they stay inland.

Bye now!

I'll let Jane post some of her cool lighthouse prism photos and her sturgeon photos.
She fell in love in Sturgeon Bay. But we decided inter-species dating might not be a good thing.

MARGE!!! Great photos--fun to see them!

I'll travel with you any time too! Where are we off to next?

I could not have had a better time or asked for a more gracious hostess, have met more wonderful walking friends or more fun on the road!

I had the most relaxing, interesting, beautiful and wonderful time.

Back home, dog and cat cuddling under way, unpacking and laundry to begin shortly. Lovely to be home and I have a head full of Great Lakes, great company, new stamping ideas and great friendship. Just a wonderful week.

...I have the feeling not only you all but a lot of my IRL friends will get lots of mileage out of asking if I'm still on LSD...

For the record, we found LSD in towns in Wisconsin and Michigan too...

Jane fell in love with sweet Shadow. But she is trying to decide if he is really a sheep given the pile of hair that she got when she brushed him. (The pile of fur is by his back leg, on the rug)

I had to educate her that sheep look like the second photo. But why do they have coats on? Is that what scared the cows away?

You had some great pictures, Marge both from the trip and your beautiful garden. I thought the sheep in coats were very funny. Maybe they were in disguise. And, wow, how much fur came off Shadow!

Heading out to the Downers Grove Art Festival today with neighbor Mary-Susan (wink to Jane). Then later this afternoon perhaps a nap.

ERK, you might want to rethink your plans and spend more time in WI and MI. Lots of National Lakeshores and state parks that border the lake. (The Great Lakes are really inland seas but hey...)

My husband has been going around the house all weekend humming a little tune.

It starts out with the intro to Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" and ends up as Minnie Riperton's "Loving You".

Yes. Really.

Well I must be home... I hear my zzzzs calling from upstairs... they sound like little Huey helicopters calling to the dogs, and to the cat and me too.

One of these days I will be able to sit and chat. We're desperately trying to get things finished in Harvey, DH sold most of his tools on Labour Day, we're doing little fixes in the house and touch up paint. And we're all fighting of colds as we don't have time to be sick.

DH is flipping channels between Monday Night Football and the US Open.

CBS just showed a shot of a young woman sitting in the stands, watching the tennis match. The caption?

Verbatim: "Nadal's girlfiend"

Um, OK... LOL

Awwww... I saw the posts on FB about DH selling his tools. It sounds as though they've gone to a home where they'll be very loved, which I hope helps a bit. I imagine those moments in such a big move must be bittersweet.

How much longer before all of you (Harvey included) hit the road?

Very odd that we've got the same weather...

I'm having wasabi rice crackers for dinner. Long first day back. I dropped a small bit on the floor and Molly scrambled after it, only to run out from behind the desk looking quite surprised a moment later. I don't think she likes wasabi much.

The cheesehead erasers I bought for my co-workers were a big hit!
