PS dear NSA, those last two posts represent an attempt at humor.

Um, so does the one about the fetish, despite its literal truth. Dam.

No, LOL, I think you're stretching the truth there. Honestly, I have no idea how much she likes him. He's never talked much about her.

And really, she could probably do him some harm if she did punch him in the stomach. She's a lot bigger than he is. Not fat, but that husky athletic type build, and she probably has a couple inches on him in height too.

Hair was done short in short order! Ran by Target. Warm today, normal. Like 80 I guess. Not a heat wave, not the coolness of the past few weeks. lol Average.

I love it that they call it Fish Camp, though, E. That's fun!

Fish Camp here is a restaurant on a river where they serve fresh caught catfish.

Morning RS!

And happy birthday to DH!

Although the Chux don't sound like much fun.

So this weekend, I'm going to a baby shower for Shower Fire Bride. (Hopefully nothing will be accidentally ignited this time.)

Stores apparently don't carry the item I wanted to give her for a gift, so I ended up going to Babies R Us since she's registered there. I printed out her registry and considered getting one of the toys on it, but when I looked at the toy I didn't think it was all that great. So I looked around some more and found some other things that seemed more worthwhile (based on my experience as a mom). The toys by one manufacturer were on sale - buy one, get a second at 40% off. I found two things I liked and with the discount it came to what I had budgeted for the original gift idea. On the way to the register I found some reusable shopping bags in cute designs, so I chose one that I'll use as a gift bag for the toys.

So I finally got to the register and the cashier rang up the bag and the toys. The total he told me didn't reflect the discount, so I told him about the BOGO offer. He said...

"Oh. You're right, those are on sale. I'll have to put in the discount manually. And I don't feel like doing the math to figure out 40% off, so I'll give you 50%."

I managed to stifle a laugh and simply thank him.

I guess for him, dividing the price in half was easier to figure than working out 10% times 4. *shrug* But he saved me $1.30, which paid for the sales tax.

Whatever!

Hey folks -Haven't been around much (duh). I went to county fair w/the kids (many ribbons were had by all), then rested a few days and off to camp w/the kids (kitchen and store duty - about 2 hours off during daylight hours the whole week... yes, I volunteered, LOL, more fool me!), then a week of recovery, and now we're off to fair next week (nearby county, to give the kids some competition - they're the only alpacas/llamas in our county, but there are more in the nearby county).

Tomorrow is Leona's birthday. A few of us are going to the Fabyan Windmill park in Batavia, then up to Graham's in Geneva to get Leona a huge ice cream cone. Graham's ice cream is her favoritest ice cream in the whole world.

Here is Graham's -- wait for the photo on the home page to cycle through to the one with the white chairs.

PH, I'm often aghast at how the cashiers (almost anyplace) can no longer make simple change.

Teh awesomez.

(what else could I have said)?

I had a GREAT time with the cousins! They got in Thursday night, Meggie stayed with me, her folks got a hotel room so we could have a couple of days to scrap. I took Friday afternoon off so we could play. Meggie brought her Silhouette (ERK, they called me last year to ask about Cricuts and I told them to get the Silhouette instead--she LOVES it) and we wound up mostly making cards instead. I showed her some techniques (faux watercolor, faux antinquing, and SPONGING--she didn't know about sponging!!! GACK!). We stayed up half the night last night. She's done amazing work! She was having a blast with my scrap paper bags so I told her to raid them and take whatever she wanted. Now I can start over! And I sent her home with some sponges and one of my SU watercolor brush-pens.

We got one page of the trip scrapped but laughed, ate Mexican with my cousin and her husband and just had a blast catching up.

They decided to leave this afternoon though... *snuffle*. Cruddy weather, long drive back to DC, older daughter goes back to college this week so they were desperate for a day at home.

That sounds like a fantastic time. Getting only one page scrapped leaves an excuse to get together again and finish

So walking group Donna called. Impromptu dinner at Sweet Tomatoes tonight. Yum, love ST

I had been out at TJ Maxx to get Leona a gift card (practical, she can use it on clothes, shoes, houseware, also at Home Goods, etc and I know her budget is tight). And then to the grocery store. Did a load of laundry and walked Shadow.

You know, among the more crazy things I've done is get up at 5am for a yard sale in 108 degrees during monsoon season. Then close up, pack things for the school and donation boxes. Drop those off, shop for snacks for the kids then have 4 11year olds and 2 9year olds here ( and they're still here....). Threw them in the pool until the thunderstorm started. I'm having a large glass of wine in about 20 minutes!

It's funny to hear them. 2 went to one middle school and 2 to the other so they haven't seen each other since mid July. Now, they are talking about their "girlfriends". It's hysterical.

Oh, and last night we took out and put in the new drivers/passenger chairs as well as the sofabed into Harvey. Between thunderstorms. And today, after the yard sale we brought Harvey home and are still working on it.

We had a blast!!! I hope Meggie will come back! I have to admit not having kids there are times when sharing something like this means a lot. It makes me feel like maybe I can pass something on that will stay in the family.
