Costco trip complete. Stocked up on TP, tissues, and Swiffer dusters. lol Also that yummy Pubhouse Battered Cod that DH loves; I get the box of frozen, and just heat 'em up for a quick meal.

And packing tape! They had coupons for several things I use, including this, and I was low on it. And anybody who's ever got a package from me knows that I don't trust the PO completely to not toss things around, so even if the box disintegrates, there's probably enough tape on there that you wouldn't notice. HA HA HA

boo.
exhausted.
moving dining room into study and study into dining room.
i have a hecka lot of china and crystal - why it can't get broken in one of my hurricanes or moves i don't know... but its there. and it has been moved and resorted. i probably shoudl have washed all the crystal - but too freaking lazy.

they come on monday morning to pull up carpet and tile in the den, foyer, kichen, and breakfast area. yay!

which means i can't use kitchen for 2-3 days.

but we have gotten the new wall and doors done upstairs so we have a place to hide while they work.

i'll be cleaning out my craft room and putting some stuff in the study... (which was originally a music room).

i'm running out of time to get school work done nad starting to have panic attacks about what all i have left to do before school starts...

next week it will be good that i'm stuck upstairs - i'll be able to work and hoepfully get some things done..

Busy couple of days coming up. The girls are coming to stamp on Wed., so I'll vacuum a little and make sure I wet jet the kitchen floor. Yeah that chore I used to do 2-3 times a day because of a certain Corgi puppy now only gets wet swiffered about every other week! It just doesn't get dirty!

lol @ Wrose.

DD asked for a vacuum cleaner for her birthday... She wanted her own to ward off Shadow hair. How sad is that.

I'm hoping it will be easier to clean with the new tile... but we'll see.

Oh my word at teh dog hair we found when moving furniture. There are a few pieces we can't get under completely and I don't move because they're so heavy... ugh is all i have to say.

but dd has her new vacuum and spent about an hour this afternoon vacuuming hte couches... giggling and squealing the whole time.

my kids are W.E.I.R.D!!!!

Ha ha ha Yeah it's like pine needles from a real tree when I was a kid. Mom said every July, she'd find a couple in the carpet or curtains or something. Probably when she'd switch out the winter curtains for the summer ones. Yeah before a/c.

No weirder than mine. Both girls came to visit today. The youngest started weeding the front garden and the oldest grabbed the upstairs vacuum and swept my craft room.

And as an aside, an anonymous donor paid some young guy to come weed whack the front bank and around the blackberry bushes.

Rather good day, eh?

So then when we visit my parents and I do stuff before we leave like wash the towels my family used, or vacuum or wash the kitchen floor, is it because I'm weird or because I'm just trying to help save my mom some work?

Um, yeah, maybe y'all shouldn't answer that. LOL

Did I tell y'all about the time I used one of Mom's vacuum cleaners to clean the other vacuum cleaner? Now that was pretty weird. LOL

It's because you're a good, thoughtful daughter! Which might be weird these days. Or maybe "unheard of" is the better phrase....

We do hope to replace the refrigerator in the Atlanta house - it's from 1965. The freezer no longer works properly. As DH noted, it "works" - but it instantly freezes everything to its bottom, and they get mushy and yucky. Basically we didn't keep anything in there on our last visit. So I'll be doing some research on appliances. I know kind of what I want out here for a new fridge, but I'm thinking the Atlanta one can be more basic.

Wow. That looks vintage.

My mom tended to always wear her vacuum cleaners out before they had a chance to become vintage... LOL.

Oh it is vintage. Reminds me of one we had when I was a kid. It still works! But you can see the brush on the end of the pipe has plastic, so it's obviously newer. lol

I guess that's a big difference, there's no plastic on that original. Of course that means it's heavier too, but they did make things to last back then. I guess same as that old fridge. You don't get 48 years out of new fridges, do you.

Nah, not at all. It's only weird because I could never get the girls to do a THING around the house when they lived with us.

In fact, it was a rare event if we could ever see the floor in our oldest daughter's room. Today she's a much better housekeeper than I ever could be. And our youngest? She's always been a neat freak to a degree.

But to hear them tell it, they did the dishes every night, vacuumed, dusted, etc., etc. Dishes--a constant struggle. I could probably count on my fingers and toes the number of times they ever did them while at home.

Each of them have their quirks, though. The oldest periodically purges stuff from her house, which drives her family crazy. The youngest loves working in the yard but back when she was a kid, when I'd ask her to help in the garden all I got were rolling eyeballs.

So yeah. My kids are weird.

OK well I ate some soup and a granola bar. GOnna go crash in the bed while the boys watch a movie. I feel better but drained. Hoping to catch up on the lost sleep and be back at work tomorrow.

Still feel crappy. This has been hanging on a week.
Will WFH today so as not to spread germs more.
Had to go in yesterday because of meetings but left mid afternoon.

Hacking cough, some congestion, low grade fever at times. Earache sometimes... If I don't see it improving tomorrow I'll go to the doctor and get some antibiotics but I really hate to do that.

BFF and BFF2 are coming to stamp tomorrow. I'm almost ready. I've been stamping other stuff til the last minute. Got the bathroom cleaned too. But it stays pretty clean.
