At the maritime museum in Grand Marais, MI, there's a sign in the restroom stall about how the desk/radio setup for the last person who had shore-to-ship contact with the Edmund Fitzgerald was like 5 feet from where the toilet is now. It's kinda bizarre to think of that when you're trying to do your business, ya know? LOL
I don't always stick my feet in the water, but I have been to Lake Ontario (Fort Niagara), and flew over Lake Michigan (lol). I have been in the Gulf and Atlantic and probably got my feet wet in the Pacific. And I live so close to SF Bay but haven't put my feet into it. I have put my feet in the Mediterranean Sea (Barcelona). Been to London but did not put my feet in the Thames.

I never went for the water.

Kids went to bed with no fuss. DH is out front cleaning up the courtyard. Think I'll go throw away all the broken town in the back yard then shave my legs./

Like V reminded you I had an Amazon gift card.

And honestly, since the punch was just under $10.00, it's not so much the money as it is the principle of the matter. I ordered on June 30, I was given a time frame for delivery of July 5 - 10, and I received only one of the two items on July 15 - after contacting them on the 10th to ask about the order status. If I hadn't contacted them on the 10th, I probably wouldn't have received anything yet.

When you consider that one of the other items I ordered that night was fulfilled by a different seller, and I received it on July 3, this situation with the bad seller is getting ridiculous.

Broken town? I think I'm confused, I'm thinking typo and usually good at figuring it out, get lots of practice with BFF back east, who has an iPad and can't type and the autocorrects can be hilarious* but I can't get this one.

*She told me she and her sister got lost driving because of a detour and they "stripped to ask a policeman for help." I said, I bet you got lots of help naked. At that point she noticed the autocorrect and we both laughed and laughed.

Broken toys. I dunno. Too much happening around here all at once. I was probably talking and typing.

Ahhh broken toys! That makes sense!!! No worries, I was just stumped!!! And I'm not too often stumped!!!

I'm also really good at reading bad handwriting, let's see, worked for some doctors, then a professor - man it took me awhile to learn his squiggles but I did! Now one of my sisters, if she writes a few lines in a card, or on a postcard, I'm the only one in the family that can translate it. ROFL

It's a gift, I tell ya!!!

I'm so bummed.

Today is my parents' anniversary. This morning before I headed down to see them, I put up a post on Facebook to share that happy news.
I didn't realize until after I got home tonight that the settings on it got tweaked so the only people who could see it were my mom, my sisters, and ODS.
So my cousins are probably thinking "dang, A and J posted such nice words about their parents but Patricia is such a loser". Because I seriously doubt any of them will go back 13 hours in their news feeds to see that yes I did post something.

Sigh.

The latest from that awful Amazon seller:

"We are canceling the order and processing a refund if applicable, it may take a few days to process."

*IF applicable*?!?!? Un.Real.

But in other Amazon dealings, I do have some good news.

My June 30 order was broken up and processed by three different sellers - the awesome ones whose item I received July 3, the awful one I've been telling y'all about, and a third one. All of the items were given an estimated delivery date of July 5 - 10.

Seller 3 sent a shipping notice on July 9, the envelope was postmarked July 11, and I received the item on July 13. I paid $9.96 plus $4.95 shipping for that item. (And no, normally I wouldn't pay 50% shipping, but other sellers were offering this item with prices ranging from $12ish plus shipping to $16.95 with free shipping, and since this was being paid with the gift card I figured oh what the heck.) A few days ago I noticed they were offering the item now for only $6.96.

So after debating whether or not to say anything to the seller, I decided to go for it. I contacted them late yesterday and asked if they had any sort of "best price 30 day guarantee" like some of the brick-and-mortar stores do, and if there was a way I could be refunded the $3.00. I also detailed the story of their shipping delay and said that in light of the delay, I thought asking for the $3.00 difference was reasonable.

They replied this morning:
"Dear Ms. [my last name],
I apologize for the delay in receiving your package. We have applied a refund for the shipping cost. It takes approximately 12 - 48 hours before the funds become available.
Thank you,
TCP Global"

I checked my Amazon gift card balance a little while ago and there's a $4.95 credit from them.

Now THAT is how a company does customer service right. I haven't replied yet to thank them, but I definitely will.

The latest on the Amazon ordeal:

This morning I received an email which included:

-Supermart included the following items in package 1 of this shipment:

1 of Die-Namics Die-Beautiful Bows
Shipping Carrier: DHL Global Mail
Ship Date: July 11, 2013
Shipping Speed: Standard
Carrier Tracking ID: 94991 [I've truncated the number here - but this is what I received on the 15th]

-Supermart included the following items in package 2 of this shipment:

1 of Martha Stewart Crafts Medium Punch, Branch

Shipping Carrier: none
Ship Date: July 18, 2013
Shipping Speed: Standard

Note that there is no shipping carrier nor tracking number for shipment 2, and that this message came after I told them (twice) I wanted a refund.

Then exactly two hours later I received this message:

Hello,
We're writing to let you know we processed your refund of $9.69 for your Order 109- [chopping some out again] -136 from -Supermart.
This refund is for the following item(s):
Item: Martha Stewart Crafts Medium Punch, Branch
Quantity: 1
ASIN: B004BZCQRA
Reason for refund: Item not received
Here's the breakdown of your refund for this item:
Item Refund: $9.69
We'll apply your refund to the following payment method(s):
Gift Card: $9.69
This amount has been credited.

I've checked, and the amount really has been credited to my gift card. I don't know if the "shipping notice" with no carrier & tracking number is that company's bass-ackward way of saying the order has been cancelled, or if they actually did ship the punch. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if one shows up in my mailbox in the next several days.

At least I do have the money back. And there appear to be a few other sellers who carry this punch. I just want to wait and see if I get one from the awful company before I try ordering from another seller, because I don't need two of them.

It's actually hot here too but not as hot as you and not as hot as "The Heat Wave" of a few weeks ago. Mid 80s.
