Not yet. I am wondering if they'd be cheaper, but we went to Lowe's first because I knew they'd be more helpful. It also means their prices are usually a tad higher. It was an investigative trip.
The smaller ones might not *look* cheaper (sticker price), but they will move more on price, particularly on older floor models. If you or your hubby are good at negotiating, you might be able to do significantly better than at the big box stores. Dropping the fact that you plan a major kitchen remodel wouldn't hurt...

Yes I was surprised to see them so far down the list, then I saw the note.
Well today we saw some that I liked, and don't feel I need to spend even $500. Lowe's charges $129 for delivery, set up and haul away the old one. Does that seem high?
A little, but set up is a total PIA. If they will also remove the old one before sliding the new on in, I'd do it.
Unless your DH just really wants to learn the ins and outs of DW set up, I'd pay the fee.

Do your elementary schools do outside recess in the winter? The teachers here are encouraged to take the kids outside so long as the temperature is above freezing. (They do take wind chill into consideration, too.)
Then again, our elementary is one of those [insert favorite derogatory adjective] pod-style schools, where each grade is in a separate building, and it's necessary to walk outside to go to the cafeteria, gym, music building, office, library, or from one grade to another. So the kids here are often in and out of their coats. It's a PITA.
Yes, if its above freezing(with wind chill factored in) they go outside for recess. DS does wear a heavier coat for school when it gets that cold. He's still just wearing a jacket. Last year was unseasonably warm and Bbaby's jacket still looks brand new as she only wore it three times.
But I figure if the wind chill places it above freezing and the sun is out, that's warm enough to wear long sleeves and a heavy jacket rather than a bulky coat.

Re: the coats for kids... before my boys were old enough to voice their opinion, I used to order them the Land's End hooded Squall jackets. I watched for the sales, and bought them large for the first year, and there's enough age difference between the boys that ODS would get a jacket, wear it for two winters, then YDS would eventually grow into it and wear it for two winters. I figured it was better to buy a $40 or $50 coat knowing it would last for four years than to buy a $20 coat at Target or Walmart that might last for only two.
And Amber - how many of our former coats have your boys worn?
DS1 wore the orange one for two years, but I had to replace it last year as it took quite a beating on year two. LOL
DS1 then wore the red and blue one for one year and its still just slightly too big for DS2.
I ended up ordering the same squall coats on a big time clearance a couple of years ago(to fit while DS2 was growing into your boys')and those are still in the closet. I think this is the last year for DS2's to fit. Its a powder blue, though and I think I can keep it around for Bbaby.

Was hoping to find great deals on scooters for the boys but at this rate we'll buy them new wheels and grips for their old ones and be done. Haven't found many great sales for what they want - which isn't a lot anyway, thank goodness.

Good morning!
Er, afternoon.
I watched a video on FB that had dogs and a cat in it making noise, and Pippin was crazy for about half an hour. I think he wanted to know where the animals were! Ha ha ha

Waiting to hear from Dad's doctor. He has to go back into the hospital again. His a-fib is back. Again. So, he will be starting a new medication that requires three days of treatment and observation at the start. *sigh*
