I always figure I'm 10-15 years older than moms with similar age kids, LOL.

I'm almost 49, DS is 14, and DD is 11.

So even if we're not the same age (are we?), we at least have similar taste in English comedy

I was a tad older when I had mine, Alyson. I was a month away from 37 when I had DD and had turned 39 when I had DS.

I turned 49 in April, have an 11 and 9 year old. It's just a number.

Exactly. And there are a lot of "older moms" now, I found many to hang out with. I mean seriously, my kid's in 1st grade, I'm mid 40s, do I want to hang out with a 25 year old? Of course not. I couldn't keep up! Ha ha ha

I haven't been too lucky finding moms my age in this rural are - if there are children with women my age she's more likely the grandmother...

Marge - sounds like you had a good day with Leona.

ERK - wowsers on the RV revamp! It's looking great! Any idea when/if you're hitting my area? Also, you are exactly 6 weeks younger than my sister. And I am not at all envious of your weather - even if it is a dry heat.

Char and Alyson - good to see you two popping in here!

I went to visit my mom today because it's her birthday! I took her and Dad out to lunch and then just talked away the afternoon at their house.

Hershey Park was fun... a very long day, but fun. One of the other moms and I decided to pull our groups together. That way we were able to have one chaperone go on the rides with the kids, and one stay with the kids who didn't want to ride. It worked out pretty well. I think the kids got to do a lot of the things they wanted to.

It will be April time. A lot depends on the weather - if it's nasty then we'll stay south longer!

We are on about day 5 of gorgeous weather.... lows in the mid-60s, highs in the mid-70s. Sunny skies, no humidity.

My parents and I sat out on the deck last night until 11:00 just visiting. We had grilled out steaks and then we played a mean game of hide and seek that Bella legitimately won.

I am NOT looking forward to weather back in the 80s....too hot.

Well, we should be done with the snow by then, at least, but it still could be a little chilly (highs in the low 50s, lows in the mid 30s).

The eastern part of the state tends to warm up earlier than west of the mountains.

We're having really lovely weather today, too. The sun is warm, but there's a light breeze. I've been doing some work outside today - weeding the flower borders, removing the dying daffodil foliage from them, and weeding two rows of the peas. I also sprayed Liquid Fence on the new things that have been sprouting in the garden.

And by weeding I do mean getting down on my hands and knees to pull the weeds.

We needed some good news. DS2s X-rays on his legs were normal so he is just super, super skinny and has to be careful when playing hard so he doesn't damage the nerves around his tibia.

I don't have a problem socializing with the grandmothers, but they have different life issues to me despite our similar ages - I don't need a continual update on drug-addicted irresponsible parents...

Glad your son's legs were ok, Karen - I think sometimes doctors take natural variability too seriously.

The top knuckles of his tibia on both side really stick out though and I think she just wanted to make sure she hadn't missed anything. He will fill out in time, I know and he now gets to drink the good stuff, full fat milk.

Allooo.

Another crazy work week, plus some sleep issues. ERK, very glad to hear about DS2 being ok. PH, glad to hear you had fun!

Alyson and Wrose if I'd had a child, I'd be the 51 year old Mom of a 5-7 year old. Yikes! I have no idea how I'd keep up especially given that I would have wound up a single Mom.

Off to fix some supper, just wanted to say hi!

Spent all frickin' day packing for Bella's week at camp only to go to gym tonight and find an iron clad packing list that I was given personal and explicit instructions to adhere to.

It's FREAKIN' Tuesday. Who waits until Tuesday to begin packing for a weeklong out of state trip???? Well, who besides Bo?

So now I have to unpack everything, decide what to leave behind, and consolidate into ONE suitcase. Grrrrrr...............

I saw that Alyson! Pretty cool huh. No "street" view but hiking view!

I dated a guy who'd been there after graduating from HS. Some trip through Ecuador, the boat wasn't exactly a liner that they took.... lol

Stamped with the girls!

Got them each one of the new envelope punch boards. I gave BFF2 hers for her birthday and I could see how jealous BFF was, we've all been drooling over them. So I looked at her and told her I might not be here for her real birthday in a couple months, so if she wanted her present early... and I handed her a gift bag. Boy was she excited! Ha ha ha

Then I showed them how to use them, on mine, I had pre-cut some paper and everything, told them about the thread and altering the dimensions, and what you get - I had samples. lol

It was great.

Me too. I used to get quite rebellious when they tried to do things like this to us. Not saying it helped.

Envelope Punch Board

There's a whole thread on it someplace. It was introduced in January at CHA, I think, and there were pre-orders and people took months to get them and then it started to be available at like HSN etc.

I pounced when I saw them actually in stock in mid-May. We had looked at the convention but not found them.

The thread actually proposed slightly improved numbers for envelopes for A2 cards. lol Trust a bunch of stampers to improve the product.

I passed on all the info to the BFFs.
