Just got my order in! Unfortunately my plan to donate for your birthday got slightly derailed by surgery deductible, but stay tuned for payday at the end of the week.

V I'm so sorry to hear about your panic attack. That sounds pretty overwhelming if not downright terrifying. I'm with Marge--you know we're here whenever you need us.

I'm really sorry to hear about that panic attack. You have an overflowing plate, two jobs, two kids, and financial pressures, housing pressures, you name it.

((hugs))

I do know what you mean about the age. An old friend of mine (she's 91 now) told me once that most people seem to get "stuck" (for lack of a better word) at a certain age, in their mind - that's how they see themselves. I'm not sure exactly what age mine is, but it was late 20s, or early 30s. Atlanta, before I married. That's Me.
What your friend said is really interesting, Wrose. I think until recent events I felt like maybe my age inside was 27, the year BFF and I drove cross-country and camped everywhere. Since all the upheaval, I haven't felt like an age at all. I think I feel kind of just... suspended in relation to that. I definitely don't feel 51 but I don't feel 27 any more either. I mean I know that person and experience are still in there, but I feel the rest of the years, too, in this very sort of integrated, this-all-belongs-together way. Kind of like getting older is weird and a pain (or multiple increasingly disruptive minor pains) but ok and even kind of cool at the same time.

I got my hair cut a little shorter and colored Saturday, vacuumed yesterday, lovely dinner with friend visiting from San Francisco. This morning got a couple of loads of laundry done, back to cleaning out my stamp room. I'm with you, Alyson--Marge and ERK have inspired me!

It's been a very interesting weekend. Not so much in doing stuff other than dinner with friend but just lots of fascinating bone-deep discussions with folks... before HOA meeting last week, by phone, while getting my hair done, and over e-mail. Now a bit of cleaning. I'm finally starting to feel human again. And down to only 2 weeks and 4 days till I'm back on the water.

I need to colour my hair this week. We're now going to an impromptu BBQ this evening so RV work needs to be speeded up. Just sat and had some lunch now back to the grindstone.

The new meds are taming the neuropathy better, but I'm still numb and (as the dose wears off) tingly w/electric stabby pain. Numbness now extends from forehead to toes on the front of my body and around the sides and backs of my legs, too. My knees feel like they have pillows wrapped around them - big, puffy, clumsy, and still numb... Probably better than arthritis pain, but really more of a trade since getting about is still an issue...

Brain MRI is this week (have had to reschedule several times due to kids' illnesses). Hoping for a negative MRI except that it would leave me without a diagnosis still.

DD is still struggling with her ongoing stomach issues - we have an appt with a pediatric gastroenterologist (well, the nurse practitioner for the group, who does the initial triage and testing) in two weeks since this has been going on periodically for at least a year now. She's been tested for H. pylori, but I imagine testing for gluten sensitivity and acid reflux are in her immediate future.

DS was out with the stomach bug I mentioned to Wrose. He's doing a bit better this week, hurray!

So we're having fun at our house. Mom and I took German when I was in high school (our school didn't offer it and I didn't want to waste the electives so she and I went to the community college) so we sometimes use it between ourselves or to make a joke. All that to explain that one of our favorites is "Krankenhaus" (sick house) when the house is beset with multiple illnesses. We're certainly a Krankenhaus at the moment...

But DH is here this weekend through next Tuesday, so that's nice I'm pretty sure he is WFH on Tues-Fri, but still, he's here!

Our anniversary is next weekend and my mom donated her Seattle Symphony tickets so we're headed to Seattle (yes, on the beautiful ferry ride) for a light lunch somewhere, the concert, then dinner at Wild Ginger, and another ferry ride home. Looking forward to it!

Remember my stuck keyboard?

Well I was struggling with it for over 2 weeks.

Turned out it wasn't stuck at all. The wireless receiver part had fallen on the floor. When I cleaned under the desk today I found it. Put it back on the desk and voila -- keyboard works fine

If it doesn't say that (I swear it came up last time I clicked Alyson's link but now am thinking maybe it's because I'd been there already?) then try clicking on Shop and type that in.

This time when I clicked on your quote, it was NOT there, then I clicked on my saved link, and it did. I'm confused but whatever.

Just make sure it's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - that's V's. No worries. Patti Dailey is the consultant.

OK, placed.

Bad checkout design on the PC site.

It truncates the phone number if you use dashes (630-111-22) and then erases the other stuff you filled in when you go to remove the dashes so you can add the last 2 digits. Poor requirements and poor testing. Just sayin'

LOL

It was my mom's. She got it in Germany after WW2.

I never would have bought it.

When I chose an item I got the item display page. There was a "how to purchase" button instead of a price. Additionally, on the left, under the picture, there was a link to choose your host. I clicked that, put Victoria as the first name, searched and clicked on V's party link. Then I could see prices of items when I clicked on them. So I'm sure when I checked out it was associated with V's party. HTH!

ERK and Marge - I'm inspired by your cleaning
I've never had one so bad. And you'd never know looking at me or my reactions that I'm uncomfortable in places. At the open house at one point I looked up and saw what felt like too many people to me so I told DH that I was going to be outside it was too hot in there.

My most uncomfortable is just in large places with people who IMO can't behave. Rude, loud, unaware of what's going on around them makes me really anxious and stressed. But stress in it's own or if I'm alone in a situation like that doesn't bother me.I have no issues being at the Avon Walk. I have no issues when I'm at work and it's crowded or busy or people are stupid (I'm in control of what I'm doing and am not responsible for others) but bring the kids in and DH and I get very anxious. I also have anxiety on windy days when there is just way too much auditory overload with the wind and the trees and stuff. All I can explain is it gets to be too much.

you won't because I'm not a hostess. It's a fundraiser so it's different. I get no hostess benefits I get a donation straight to the walk in stead.
