My purse is about 10 year old. It's leather and I think I paid about $40 for it. I have others, but rarely use them, mostly because they aren't "perfect" like my everyday purse. Stuff just doesn't fit correctly and I despise having to shop for a new one.

I like them a lot, they age well and the patterns are fun. I figure if the ones I really really want are still around at 60% off it was meant to be.

If I pay anywhere near $50 for a purse, I better get YEARS out of it. lol I did spend that on a leather one at Costco a year or so ago and it's still in good shape. I'm using one from Atlanta at the moment, also leather, but yeah, I'd never pay for Coach or Louis Vuitton.
I have a few Dooney & Bourke bags. Yeah I spent the money retail on some. But I was single then lol.

IT's for people like me who wear jeans tees and a cardigan when we "dress up" lol. It's the pop of color in my outfit. What is this shirt of which you speak?

ERK, cute car!

Purse discussion...I have had countless VB bags. I love them. I use them for diaper bags and purses. Its been years since I've had a new one though. I decided long ago that when my need for a diaper bag was finally gone, I would allow myself to get the Coach purse I want. So, to justify the expense I can't buy any purses or bags until that time comes. DD and I both have a Coach crossbody bag. I used to have a LV, but that's when I had a job and money and only one child. I couldn't afford a knock off LV these days.

Crock Pot-get one! Stat! I have one that's about twelve years old and another that's about 8 or 9. I love them both. They both have removable pots and are mostly bare bones with few features. I haven't figured out the purpose behind all of the features and I'm too cheap to buy another one.

Dishwasher-mine is a Maytag, two years old. I love it. Its pretty quiet, though you can still hear it. It also has the heating element inside like Alyson's. It doesn't have a disposal in it I have a private septic system and can't have a disposal. It is white. Stainless is going out of style. I have no staining inside of mine at all. I can't recall the price. I think we paid about $500, but that was with some discounts. It has the extra deep bottom rack for large items and I do like that feature a lot. No complaints.

I was waiting for you to chime in, I KNOW you get yours cheap. You kind of have an idea what you like, are familiar with the product, and know where to find sales and coupons. If I was that interested in them, I'd pay more attention to that stuff too!

Good for you!!!!

E, what kind of prices do you get at the VB outlet? We don't have anything like that here. I'm looking for a lunch bag for DD. Maybe I will look online and see the price there too.

I didn't know crock pots had any features besides the temp! lol

I'm going to go look today (not buy yet), I want an idea of what you pay for what features in real life. CR seems to have $800 as a tipping point but I'm thinking I can get an $800 one for maybe $600 or something.

Thanks for your input!

It says it's 55° now, I don't think it got below 60 last week in our "winter storm." I don't think they should be allowed to call it a winter storm. Maybe a December storm? lol

Personally, I wouldn't pay $800 for a Dishwasher even if I did want to plan for resale of the home. Appliances are so over priced and if the buyer wants a different color or plans to replace all appliances upon purchase, you've wasted your money getting something you didn't want.

I had no money when I was single. Moved to Atlanta, got a job, lived on my own, no car even, and just barely made ends meet.

I had a Dooney & Bourke Palm case for awhile. DH got it for me. lol

I guess I never got into the high end bags. It kind of baffled me to spend a lot of money on "just a purse." I must be an old lady or sumpin!

Exactly. I'm not really planning for resale, and I don't want to spend $800 either. (And I doubt DH would either!)

I just want something decent, doesn't have to be fancy, just clean well.

For those not on fb...two funnies for today.

"Mom, it must it cost a lot of money to be as pretty as you." Aw, you're too sweet, DS. "Yeah, cause that makeup is expensive and you wear a lot of it."

In the aisle at walmart, an older woman holding a large box of condoms turns to me and says "We don't really need these, just rekindling old times."

Yup, its been that kind of day.

I can't spend $75. Not even close. Its a slim Christmas this year. The kids are getting a lot of things I simply need to buy them anyway as Christmas gifts. Her lunch bag is disgusting, as is DS's. I just can't waste $15 on a batman lunch bag or something lame like that for him. He is so rough on stuff. I'm gonna look at LLBean's lunchbags and see if I can get him a decent quality one that will last a few years.

Really, you want to use those to rekindle old times? I don't remember anything awesome about them.

That's a huge box. How many times are you gonna "rekindle"?

I could go on forever.

Bwahahahaha!

I really don't even wear that much makeup. Foundation, light blush, light lipstick, mascara and sometimes a little eye shadow.

Why not just do it in the backseat of your car instead?

Really, you want to use those to rekindle old times? I don't remember anything awesome about them.

That's a huge box. How many times are you gonna "rekindle"?

I could go on forever.

All of her friends parents and I decided we would each get our girls a season pass to Kings Island with the idea that one parent could drive them up(its about an hour) and another could pick them up in the afternoon. It would give them lots of opportunity to do fun stuff together this summer. Dh works about twenty minutes from there, so he is close should something happen and they need an adult.

with no minimum? I never shop LLBean.

But apparently I need to get Zach a warmer coat. I don't really want to. I hate buying something he'll wear five whole times.

So I think I might have just ordered the last gift. I found two stragglers on Amazon that added up to less than one of the items I found cheaply.

I wouldn't even buy a coat for five wearings. Seriously. Put on an extra layer under the jacket.
