I should say I'm allowed to be on chat. WE use it from desk to desk so people don't have to clog up the lines or walk around or if I need something from the warehouse I chat someone and they get it/

I uploaded the cards we made today, a couple of different techniques from Technique Junkies; but like chalkboard (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=2288) is everywhere, I just had those directions in the same issue with the painter's tape one (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2366434), after I made that card, I went out and got some wider blue painter's tape - and I haven't used it yet! That's next on my list. I did use up 95% of my Twitterpated DP in the last two weeks.

Ugh. I hate people. I hate that I hate people. I hate that I have to hate people because they are so stupid and annoying and don't understand boundaries of what is and is not inappropriate.

hi y'all.

Still feeling sick. Cough, nasal stuffy and runny at the same time. How can that be?

And house is still a wreck.

Thought the handyman was going to assemble shelving today but all he did was drop off 3 in boxes. Says he'll be back Friday. I think I need 6, not 3. It's heavy shelving, each box is 90 lbs. Hope it is assembled by the weekend so I can start back on the storage room.
My keyboard is sticking Especially the 'o' and space bar. Makes typing a pain to go ac and ix everyting.

Man o man you guys. Sorry Amber, sometimes people suck and get hated.

Marge, I hope you get feeling better, I generally found that stress was not good for me as related to catching colds. I'd get through it (whatever "it" was), and THEN I would get sick. Sigh.

E how's work? How's life? Isn't May like one of the busiest months of the year for people with kids? I can remember recitals, more recitals, sports stuff, awards dinners, band stuff, it all happens in May and into June..... more than usual. If you volunteer, you're working your butt off getting things to come together. Been there, loved it. Yeah there are some jerks along the way but I don't think about them very often. Mostly I remember being crazy busy but having fun too. I sure had more energy back then!

But not too bummed as I hadn't bought it yet and Debbie sold it to me for 40% off. LOTS of new stuff to covet--a few stamp sets, lots of new In Color and the new grey goodies. I definitely need Yippee-Skippee.

I'm infatuated with the new in colors. Makes up for being a bit disappointed about how much discontinued stuff they dragged back into the color refresh. How can it be a refresh when you're just resuscitating expired stuff?

Kind of like if she didn't make an effort, she could kind of quietly live in the background. You have to really look to see how beautiful she is but once you see it, that's it.

Well, that and her having a drop dead stunning figure of course. I'd take the drop dead stunning figure any day.

Yeah getting addicted to living indoors and regular meals has a way of twisting your life to support those habits... Although VERY glad to hear how much Finis makes up for it. Funny how working for a really well run dept or company spoils you for all the arseholery that persists in the working world.

Yeah I'm a bit commercial starved too... up at parents' in MA. Holy COW Mom got some photos printed this time so I'm busy knocking out pages of Poland!!! All the photos through her years in UK after WWII! We're having a blast! Mom took off for book club with her friends, though, so I jumped on to say hi.

Although I guess worst case I can always wait until the next color refresh, when undoubtedly they'll just bring it back...

I have to admit doing all this makes me sad that I don't have kids who'd inherit all that family history.

It's pretty amazing. My grandmother's family barely made it out of the former Yugoslavia alive during WWI. My great-grandmother was very kind to the local Muslim population, evidently very rare for wives of Austro-Hungary at the end of the war. The local Muslims helped hide them and helped them escape, so they made it back to Vienna. My grandfather's family barely escaped Russia during the revolution. All of them barely survived WWII. My Mom and Grandmother had to flee across a frozen river in what's now Lithuania, then Poland, after Russia invaded the NE corner of the country where they were stranded after my grandfather flew off to fight the Nazis from his air force base there the day Hitler invaded Poland. They had no idea if he had survived or not for the next 6 years.

I feel so lucky to have grown up in a peaceful and prosperous country. Going through all the pictures and stories and memories with Mom is just amazing. I feel so lucky that for all the misunderstandings and some fairly awful stuff that went on when both of us were younger, we both worked so hard to sort through it and now here we are sharing all of this.

Yeah... I'm a big old sappy American getting all verklempt about stuff again...

Jane it is pretty amazing that none of us have known any war anywhere near our own homes. Not something we've had to worry about.

Well I got the Mosaic stuff - set, punch and embossing folder, also the Wildflower Meadow BG stamp and EF - wasn't sure how that would go, but I got it anyway. The girls LOVED how it looked. Also got the Love Label set and Artisan Punch. Very nice to just pop a greeting on.

I have the old Tea set and will get the new one (p. 35) but the new one doesn't have the large cup, so I do see what you mean! I just love these sets. I will use them together. ha ha I never thought to go through the catalog looking for lobster containers!!!!!!

Yeah I don't know how they decide colors. I see a future where they are forced to choose one light pink and one light blue..... lol But I have to say, while I liked Baja, it looks grey now next to the new stuff! But I have a lot of baja stuff, ribbon and buttons, etc. So I'm working on using it up. If I get to a certain point, I'll save the rest for you.

Yeah she does stay fit. Sigh. Lydia is watching the seasons now and finally got to where she lost Caitlin, so is now into the Ziva episodes. I didn't tell her she'd like them even better!

I don't want to get stuck here but I just don't want to do a lot of new stuff right now. I think I feel a bit like a tree that got uprooted during a very big storm and after getting kind of tucked back in to a transplanted spot, and figuring out how to re-grown roots and branches, I just want to sit here and ...be for a bit. It just feels quiet and content and that just feels so good right now.
Ahhh I hear you. I understand.

My poor little sister. Finally got a state job after so many layoffs. Been doing that for six years. You wouldn't think accounting was such a dangerous profession. Now that state and federal funds are cut, they are cutting more accountants. She has, in the last week, been watching agents in other offices be let go, one here, two there. She checked her seniority. She heard rumors about one office being closed (well I should say another one, they did close one already). She checked seniority of the two offices that might get merged. She figures she's 6th in line, so if they merge and keep 6, she'll have a job. If not, she won't. Her office is revenue producing, so you'd think they'd want to keep more of them!

Seriously, who knew that the new Wildflower background and embossing folder would look so good in Baked Brown Sugar?

I found some DP, Walk in the Park, that's very pretty and I'm going to use it up. I've got 12 cards almost done, used up a couple sheets there. Some of them I see great potential for sympathy cards, so I'm going to make t hose next. Using up some Kiwi Kiss too!

Hi. Crazy here with yard sale prep for next weekend, last month of school stuff with yet more testing next week and the week after. 3rd grade Luau, 5th grade promotion to middle school (really, they do a 2 hour "thing". It's simply moving from one school to another, honestly). RV work still moving slowly. Counters didn't work as well as we hoped.

Well, I think we can salvage them. Will have to do more sanding then some sort of poly sealer so get the surface smooth. Rustoleum refunded us for the cost of the product which is helpful.

Bunks haven't been done yet and need to go in before we put the bathroom counter and refinished sink back in.

Looking for reasonably priced upholstery fabric to recover the dinette seats and trim around the curtains. Everything is too brown at the moment.

No RV work this weekend. Teacher gifts for end of year need to be finished - will post a pic when they are done.
