Dump it all in the crock pot. Cook until quite tender. Remove roast from pot and shred with two forks. Place beef back in broth and cook for another half hour.
Scoop beef onto steak rolls. Top with Provolone slices (I used an Italian three cheese mix) and slip under broiler until hot and bubbly. Slice each sandwich in half on the diagonal. Serve with a dish of the broth for dipping.
I added one minced clove of garlic tonight (leftovers), because I felt it needed just a little bit more flavor. Waiting for it to heat up now. Hubby is drooling.
Enjoy!

I'm thinking of coming up with more stamping goals for next year. One is to use as much of the bag of tags I found on tag fence cards. Focus on using up some old stuff. Ribbon would be next. I have some small amounts of stuff that I should just use up for the space. lol DD saw my ribbon collection better last night and basically said "holy crap" or something to that effect. I said yes, I am what is called a Ribbon W-hoar.

I need to research dishwashers. I've been hand-washing everything all week, the d/w wasn't quite dissolving the goop away on all sides. The thing is almost 25 years old. Don't worry, I know the next one won't last this long.
I had researched them a few months ago, so it shouldn't be too painful, right?

Easy The one we got has a few features I really like.
garbage disposal in the floor so any food bits get macerated instead of left behind
internal water heater to ensure temp is over whatever temp it's supposed to be, not dependent on the temp coming out of the hot water tank
never having to pre-rinse dishes again! I can put dishes in for a couple days and they still come clean - yea!
very very quiet - can have a conversation right in front of it
The cycle is way longer than any previous dishwasher we've had, but it's worth it for clean dishes

And boss' birthday today. We took her to Stir Crazy and then had treats this afternoon back at the office, Portillo's famous chocolate cake, her favorite. So yummy!
My mom gave me her old one when she bought a pretty one. I like some of the features of the new ones, though - I may get a pretty one for myself. The problem is that none of them have all the features I want, like the lid clamps/seal for taking it in a car and the feature when it will go to keep warm at a preset time.

They had some good sales on them recently - maybe still will because the holidays aren't over, LOL.
I think Costco had a big one and little one for $29.97 or 39.97 (the little ones are great for serving hot dips, I've heard), and Fred Meyer (Kroger) had a pretty red one for $24.99.
I don't use mine nearly enough. I serve potato leek soup out of it at potlucks and make the stuffing in it (yum!) on Thanksgiving and/or xmas. But this job has me out on the roads most afternoons and I get home exhausted - it would be nice to have dinner started before I head out and finished when I get home!

*snort*
I've been handwashing dishes for 34 years! And guess what? My "dishwasher" won't break down!

How could I have gotten married in the 70's era and not have gotten a crockpot as a gift?
I have two. The first one is a little cheapie that can also double as a tiny griddle and the "crock" is actually aluminum. The second is a big crock pot with an actual pottery crock so the food stays hot for a long time even with it turned off. Dh gave the second one about ten years ago. The crock is purple and I love it. Makes great apple butter, too.

I should just buy one. I'm always seeing recipes that I want to try.
All I know is that I want a removable crock to make washing it easier.
What other features do I need? (Alyson, I noted the 2 you mentioned above).
No clue what Alyson's features are but mine came with a rubber thingy to wrap around the lid and pot for travel and also an insulated travel bag. Let's see, the crock is removable, lid is glass so you can see what's going on, and it has a warm, low and high setting. Can't remember the brand name but I'm pretty sure he got it at Sears. Oh, the base is white with a purple flower and leaves design.

The boys rode the bus today. I got home around 3:30 this afternoon from doing a little shopping, knowing that they'd get home from school about 3:45.
There was a message on the answering machine:
"Mom, I'm at the high school, but I'm not supposed to be here, so can you please pick me up? Please?"
YDS didn't check his email yesterday, so he didn't see the message from the high school band teacher stating that only high school students were eligible for tonight's pep band during the basketball game, and that the students weren't allowed to stay after school until the game started. He rode the bus from the middle school to the high school, thinking he was going to stay for pep band. Nope - sorry, kiddo.
After ODS got home, I went up to the high school. YDS wasn't waiting outside the front of the school like I expected him to be. So I parked my car and spoke to the kids standing outside of the band room. (I knew two of the three, and I knew that they both knew YDS.) They hadn't seen YDS. The band room's outside entrance was locked, so I walked over to the front entrance and went in there to look for YDS. He wasn't in the lobby. I walked down the hall to the band room, but that band room door was locked too. So I turned around, and there was YDS walking down the hall toward me.
But his backpack, with his planner, homework, lunch box, clarinet, and dirty gym suit, were locked inside the band room.
So we went on back to the car and chatted with the kids outside of the band room a bit. We figured ODS was planning to do pep band, so we decided that we'd have him pick up YDS's stuff tonight.
We got home and ODS said he really didn't want to do pep band, but he didn't mind going to the school to pick up the alto clarinet so he could practice it this weekend (because he didn't think to bring it home yesterday when he drove - he doesn't like to take it on the bus because the case is pretty big).
So the boys went to the high school this evening and got their stuff. When they got back, ODS said that the other band kids really wanted him to join them. So he ended up going back for the basketball game.
To end this story on a positive note - our team won the game. ODS said the other team didn't score at all until the second half.
ODS's pretty moment today came when he said, "I can get from here to downtown, and I can get from here to the mall, but I don't know how to get from downtown to the mall."

We got a new dishwasher not quite two years ago, after we replaced the refrigerator and stove (and washer and dryer - though they are not in the kitchen). All the new appliances we bought are LG. Of them, we are least impressed with the dishwasher.
It does a good enough job, I suppose, and it is quieter than the one that it replaced. But the adjustable prongy things (so you can use spaces for glasses, or plates, or whatever) don't stay in place very well. And occasionally it seems like smells linger in it.

DH and I bought ours with money we received for our wedding, so it's 20 years old now. I don't use it as often as I probably "should", but it's been pretty useful over the years.
Our rice cooker is supposed to be able to do double duty as a slow cooker/crock pot, but I haven't tried that out yet.
