Yeah, oh well. I've never been a big basketball fan so it's not that upsetting to me that they lost.

I've never felt that the way they match up the teams in the brackets is fair, with the #1 seed playing the #16, #2 vs. #15, etc. IT seems to me that it would be more fair if they did #1 vs. #8, #2 vs. #9, etc. or something like that.

But hey. The last time JMU got this far in the NCAA, they were defeated by a UNC team that had an up-and-coming player by the name of Michael Jordan.

The point isn't to make it fair, but to reward the best teams.

Now that we have conferences forming just so they will get an automatic bid, they've even expanded it this year, there were four extra teams so there was a play-in, so yes, the worst teams were playing a few days ago, Duke (for example) not until today. The thinking being, they earned the honor.

Oh they've been fine. Much better service and great on the phone. We had an intermittent problem inside and he came by today and checked the circuit box and DH can fix it Monday, no worries. Quick and easy.

But the PG&E one has been going on for awhile, just seemed to be getting worse. So we finally called the other day.

There's one in PA, not far from the home I grew up in; I was at that shopping plaza last summer.

Thanks!

I feel like I've been invisible for the last month. Well, not invisible, but incapable of having a normal conversation with semi-normal people.

In answer to my ? to MO, I'm up because I'm stupid. I started reading a David Baldacci book (The Simple Truth) this afternoon. The book started slow. V-e-r-y s-l-o-o-o-w. But, I stuck it out and NOW, at 1am, it's rolling along at a clipping pace and I don't think I can go to bed!

But--I gotta.

Went to see folk singer from Indiana last night with friend of mine who lived there for a while and used to work at a venue where she played. Singer was wonderful and so was conversation afterwards--we were uptown and not ready to go to loud bar full of 20something yuppies so we went into the Ritz (of all places) in our jeans and cords to see if they had a quiet corner bar or something. We found a really nice piano bar on the 15th floor with awesome view of skyline, got herb tea, decaf and the most heavenly appetizer I've ever eaten and sat and caught up for a couple of hours.

We were both HUGELY impressed with how incredibly courteous and attentive they were despite the fact that, as Sesame Street might say, one of these things was not like the other ones. We left a disproportionately huge tip by way of a thank you and to kind of make the point that women aren't necessarily rotten tippers and that we hugely appreciated the excellent service and not judging us by our appearance.

Anyway... that's why I was still up. Still kind of floating on happy music and great evening with friend of almost 20 years.

Remember the haircut from hell that I got in early December?

Well it had finally grown out 3 months later and was shaggy and terrible looking.

But I was agonizing about where to get it cut.

A lady at work recommended her salon in Glen Ellyn (next town over). I was able to get in with her stylist at 8:15am this morning.

Great news - got a beautiful cut! Will definitely go back there and they have good evening and weekend hours.

After lunch, am going with Cruise Trena to a stamp store that just opened up in Villa Park. Actually it had existed before, went under some owner reincarnations, and is reopening.

Trena knows the owner; she has taught Copic classes there before.

Maybe I'll find a cute animal stamp that integrates well with the Stampscape scenery for the April retreat.

So now that my appetite is slowly coming back I'm trying to make sure I eat more healthy food. Also after long talk with old beau from VA the weekend he was here I decided to try vegetarian fake bacon.

I just made a pretty yummy fake bacon lunch--fried up 4 strips of veggie bacon in a little olive oil until crisp, then threw in a bit of minced garlic and a couple of hands full of cut green beans. The fake bacon tastes pretty good and Sonny and Molly went nuts while I was cooking it so they were fooled, LOL.

Of course my friend in the mtns last weekend cooked up this awesome uncured bacon from Earth Fare for breakfast and I have to admit that was oodles better. But given the lack of nitrates and animal fat, I may be on to something here.

I mostly do turkey bacon, it's definitely not the same, but I like it okay.
