A couple of days it's been a choice between Cheez Doodles and homicide, so I went with the junk food.

Yup. Government is going to bleed you dry and micromanage your life... until a tornado wipes out your town. Then you want to know where FEMA is...

Captain, this is not logical. Sigh.

Marge, you're right. I have no grounds to complain considering the supply depot I maintain upstairs. Which, while not quite paying off my mortgage, would definitely shrink it a good bit.

I disappeared because we've had a rough couple of weeks. Hopefully the new meds the neurologist prescribed will help with the seizures. He gave us a sample pack. Can't wait to find out how much they will cost at the pharmacy--not a medicine covered by the VA. At $7.96 a pill, and taking 18 pills a day (for the name brand), I think we'll opt for the generic when the sample runs out.

Speaking of the VA, due to a small inheritance dh received from his mom, the VA is now charging us a co-pay. Got the first bill two weeks ago. $500 for January.

And I'm still paying off the hospital bill, the pathology lab, the imaging center and possibly the ambulance (from Oct.) if the VA doesn't pay.

Joy, joy.

Well, back to cleaning... Friend from VA is stopping over on his way home from spending the winter in FL. Got most of the vacuuming done before trainer arrived--we switched our day to Saturday this week. Sonny's making great progress and trainer really cheered me up--she said she could tell I'd been doing a lot to de-clutter the house.

It's still not a minimalist magazine spread by ANY means but nice when someone notices, especially someone who's here every week.

Yesterday after paying off a bunch of bills with tax refund, I ordered 3 white bookcases from Target, one tall for the back of the office, 2 small ones for the wall beside my desk. They had 15% off if you ordered over $125 plus I got their debit card so another 5% and free shipping. We had 2 dark bookcases in here when it was ex's office and painted dark teal, but now that I've painted the room pale lime, I want something brighter in the office. Plus the bookcases in here match the ones upstairs so I'm moving them up so I'll have room for Dad's books, and to display some photos mixed in with the books. I've already hauled small dark bookcase upstairs, hoping visiting friend can help me with the tall one. That will make more room for books and photos in both spaces.

I'll move all my business reference books down here when the new white ones arrive and I put them together.

And on that jolly note, back to cleaning.

Jane, have fun. I love lightening things up anywhere. If we take the Atlanta house to keep, it's going to get some white.

Poor Puppy! Poor Marge! Good puppy mommy.

I haven't had the cold nose wake-up in a few years. Phantom hadn't been upstairs for at least a year or so before he got immobile. DH and I both miss hearing him come running up the stairs on a weekend morning, and launching himself from the doorway onto the bed...... lol

By the way, they mentioned on the news last night that the Blackhawks finally lost a game in regulation (6-2 to Colorado).

Hi all. Not much going on here. ODS took the SAT this morning. I made a birthday card for my sister. I didn't get it completed in time for the last pickup at our local post office at noon, so I had to go to the next closest P.O., which has a 5:30 pickup. (Not that big of a deal, it's only 10 minutes away if you hit all the traffic lights when they're red.) But their blue drop-off box outside is on the passenger side of the vehicle. So I got YDS to go with me. We got there to the P.O.... and the snow still hadn't been cleared from the outside drop box. HELLO?!? It's been 3 frickin' days! So I had to pull into the parking lot and go inside the building to drop the card off.

Jesus left a comment on my blog this evening.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be like the biblical Jesus, or the Hispanic name pronounced like "Hey Zeus".

Either way, the comment was very heavily laden with spam, which means it got deleted.

Hey PH. Funny about the snow. Maybe that was their budget cut. No more snow removal for the outside box. ha ha ha

I found the whole college testing, applications, visiting schools, etc very stressful. More stressful when it was my sons, than me -- I only applied one place (Penn State).

Going to "movie night" in a few minutes.

The Downton Abbey group decided to still get together once a month for wine and a movie. Tonight it is the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
