Marge, you weren't too far from where DH was born and spent the first 8 years of his life.

I'm really glad you got home safely, ahead of the storm.

Home from a walk. About 2.5 miles. Off to the grocery for protein! All sweaty and everything.

That is all so cool.

For someone born in PA, I know very little about the western half of the state. Seems all our childhood trips went north and south of eastern PA, and not west.

It's not even that warm out! Low 50s here.

Something going on, hearing lots of sirens, and rarely hear them from here.

But I'm sorry, every time I see Fage or Phage, I am reminded of a Star Trek episode. Actually it was an arc of episodes on Voyage, and the Phage (as they spell it) is a disease.

BFF back east's husband works for DOD. They're still subsidizing their daughter in grad school. Sigh.

Perfect example of families that really had nothing 50 years ago. Parents did what they could to get their kids through college, and then the kids have all worked hard.

BFF back east and I even worked at the same hospital for awhile, while going to college. She took a straighter path than I, was teaching before I got out of school, yet married late to a younger guy (like me), and had her DD three months before I had my DD. But I've known her since second grade, she lived in the projects. Back then that just meant they were poor. They got out before they got dangerous.

Now she's a retired teacher and her DH has been working for the govt. for a lot of years, but not quite ready to retire. But his workload will increase because some others at his level are retiring, and not being replaced. But he'll get furloughed too with that pay cut. Um, okay.

I kind of think people don't understand until it gets to the point where they are wondering why it's taking so long to get the pothole fixed on their street.

A view out of my front and my little back courtyard. Got over 6 inches; it has slowed considerably. For a while there, we were getting about an inch an hour.

Small government is good until it is the pothole on your street that doesn't get fixed.

That's what they are predicting here - 1 to 2 inches per hour at times throughout the night, with a total of anywhere from 8 to 18 inches by tomorrow night.

We went out to dinner, to a little pizza place not too far from here. It starting raining a little when we first got there, and then on the way home it started switching to snow. It's all snow now and there's a dusting on the deck.

So you know how some crafters shorten the phrase "bone folder" to "boner"?

And you've heard about those fish nuggets that McDonald's has been advertising?

ODS's friend calls them "fuggets". (emphasis on first syllable)

Wow, great! I can't tell if it's raining or snowing on DS. He hasn't answered me yet. lol They tend to always be a tad warmer than I expect. Not yet to eastern PA.

It is beautiful. Being early March, will it melt pretty quick?

And Sharks lead, 1-0. NCIS can wait again. Maybe tomorrow we can catch up on .. nope, Sharks play again at 6:30. If we're lucky, DH can catch CSI. Ha ha, then Thursday maybe we can watch something, and catch up again on the weekend. lol We did watch the Suits finale last night. From a couple weeks ago.

I'm not fond of fuggets because when I was at GT, we who used the Forum Users Group and met for pizza, called ourselves fuggers.

Well, "fuggets" was funny to us because it sounds so much like a phrase that would be censored in the media and here on SCS. And knowing the kid who coined it made it funny too.

Really, y'all met for pizza? Yaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnn. LOL

Yep, a bunch of kids back in the early days of Cyber, they had beer at the pizza place, of course, and huge big fat round tables, it was aweseome. Excelsior Mill, I think it was, because, well, it used to be one before it was turned into a restaurant. Long gone, I'll have to google it. Wonder if I got that right, the city changed so much in that area, with the Olympics. But oh yeah that's where my good friend got a lesson in chugging beer.

Our group included everything from psych grad students to the computer science people, and textile majors, and a lot of EEs, like DH. That's where we first met, via computer.

Anyway nothing wrong with him coming up with fuggets, just too close for me to not see both. lol What a language. It's like hams, and their kids are harmonics. If two fuggers got married and had kids (and that happened a lot), are they fuggettes? Fuglets? lol

hmmm, I should ask DH. I know ours are harmonics because we were and are hams.

I have the weather channel on because I refuse to watch a rerun of Dave and the Cardassians, oh wait, that's the Star Trek spelling.....

Okay I found the off button.

I made my St. Pat's cards today, well most of them, 8. I think 3 more would make me happy.

Yes, it should melt; temps are supposed to warm up to the low 40's later this week.

We got another 2, maybe 3 inches overnight.

We knew last night around 10:30 that our county's schools would be closed today.
Now it's official that there is no school tomorrow, too.

It's still snowing pretty heavily. YDS was out earlier so I gave him the yardstick and he measured 13" in one part of the yard. He and DH have cleared our driveway. The temperature has warmed up enough that the snow falling now isn't sticking.

The wind really picked up a while ago. All that snow on the deck railing in the photo I posted this morning? The wind took it all off.

But, the blanket of white is beautiful, isn't it? Except on the roads, of course.
