I've seen definately a lot, so maybe their computer puts a red line under that but accepts defiantly so they put that instead? Or even autocorrect changing the wrong spelling to another word?

Does that mean when I listen to Nicaraguan folk music and protest songs about the International Monetary Fund on my iPod at work, I'm being definite?

French friend is in town visiting landlord lover. On Friday they leave for Cancun.

She is coming over tomorrow night. I made her a cross stitched bookmark. I think I will give her the pink rosebud one. The back is polka dotted fabric to cover all the threads.

I've been cross stitching in the evening, to try to keep my hands busy so that I do not snack as much.

Just popping in to say hi quickly. Traumatic afternoon. Cat got out and in a panic jumped over the wall into next doors yard. Large alsation wasn't the problem but the chow was. He gave as good as he got. He's lost claws, bruising where the dog got him in his mouth but only one small puncture on his back leg. Not sure how deep the bruising is or whether it got his internal organs. So good thoughts for our kitty please. He needs to get through the next 24/48 hours.

We got 3/4 inch this afternoon. By the time I got back from the vet it had melted. Then around 5 it started again and we got another 2 inches so the kids went out and built a snowman. They have just finished warming showers!

Ok, so back in August French friend, landlord lover and I went to dinner at Rock Bottom. We split an enormous piece of carrot cake for dessert.

French friend said she had never had carrot cake and was going eeeeeewwwww, carrot cake??

But....she loved it! And, to be honest, it was a bit dry and only very mediocre carrot cake.

So I told her that if she liked that, she really needed to try my Vermont sister's carrot cake recipe.

Well, in December I got this photo along with this email:

I suppose I messed up somewhere,
as you can see it's flat, flat and flat...
But the cream cheese frosting is delicious !!!!

OK, so she is a fantabulous cook and this looks pretty sorry....so something obviously got lost in the translation.

So for tomorrow I am now baking (you guessed it) a carrot cake.

Wacky weather.

It has been bitterly cold here this week but only traces of snow.

OK so quite a strange day at work. My company (OfficeMax) and OfficeDepot are going to merge.
OfficeMax And Office Depot Announce Merger Of Equals To Create $18 Billion Global Office Solutions Company - Feb 20, 2013

We are #2 and #3 behind Staples in the office supply industry. Merged, we would be the #4 eTailer in the world -- behind Amazon, Apple and another, possibly Staples (I think). OfficeMax is now the #11 or 12? eTailer.

That black glass building in the photo is where I work, on the 4th floor.

They will be looking for synergies and to cut cost. But first they need FTC approval on the deal. I think my department is pretty secure, we are the growth area.

Oh ERK. Very warmest thoughts for Cilantro's recovery. He's in my prayers and so are all of you. How are the boys doing? I can imagine it must be tough on them.

Wow. I see Office Depot hails from Boca Raton, we used to live 1/2 mile from the northern border of Boca.

E, it was sweet hearing you talk about your girls and their fine arts endeavors. I think you feel the same sense of love and pride toward them as they are performing that I get when my guys are on stage.

And you made me realize - when ODS is on stage during a concert, he's in a serious concert mode. Last Sunday when he was playing in the pit for the musical, I took a few peeks at him* and even in the limited light, I could see that he had a different expression. Even though he was performing, the look in his eyes wasn't as serious, as if he were playing more for enjoyment.

* um, yeah - our auditorium sucks. It wasn't built with an actual orchestra pit. So during the musical, the "pit" musicians sit on floor level, between the stage and the front row of auditorium seats at stage right.

LOL about the whole pepper conversation. I like bell peppers too but to paraphrase Calvin (from "Calvin and Hobbes") they sure taste better going down than coming back up.

But I do think Jane had the best say in the conversation:

Jane, do you know if either of the neighbors' mother was a hamster, or if their father smelt of elderberries?

Do you mean, if she were to continue, she would be playing on the high school's team (or jv team), or still in a rec league but with high school aged students?

Is there a lot of overlap between the soccer and cheering seasons that would make it difficult for her to participate in both?

Or are you concerned that she could get injured again?

I'm just trying to understand why you're reluctant to have her play soccer again.

In the instances where I've seen it, I find it hard to believe it's autocorrect. I've never seen an autocorrect option for leaving comments on blogs.

But really, who knows. I've just been surprised at seeing several different people, across different ages and geographic locations, do it.

Really, is there a big rubber band ball outside the building?

No, not outside. But those little rubber band balls replicate like tribbles inside.

Does it have restrooms? Our HS auditorium didn't, well you had to go outside. There were restrooms in the band area in the back of the building. Really stupid. I used to say if I had a few million extra, I'd donate it to the school if they'd build a new one.

If they are typing from their mobile device or iPad, doesn't it do it there? My poor lousy typist BFF back east has all sorts of hysterical autocorrects when we IM.

I don't think it's the blogs, it's the device. Or am I missing something - which happens frequently with technology? lol

Letterman said that when Office Depot and Office Max merge, they'll be Office Office. And the American Airlines and US Airways will be Airlines Airways. lol

Or are you concerned that she could get injured again?

I'm just trying to understand why you're reluctant to have her play soccer again.
My DD played a lot of soccer, but in HS, marching band season ran into the beginning of soccer season, so she just kept playing recreational. She had asked about competitive at one point and probably could have done it, but the whole family would have had to commit to weekends away, overnights, all over the bay area. And well, we had another kid that did baseball and scouts and camping....

But that way at least she could still play and just skip the occasional season if it conflicted too much. She didn't play fall soccer once she stared marching band.

It can be so tough. When we moved out here, she didn't want to take dance anymore, in fact, said she'd only done it the last year in FL because of her friends. She was still little then, almost 9 when we moved here. But she wanted to take gymnastics, so did that, til she discovered soccer.

She always was a little monkey!
