Whoooooooooo hooooooooo! The principal offered me the instructional para job from 8:15 to 11 and then we are in negotiations for me to also work the lunch duty too from 11:30 to 1:10. He had called the district to inquire if I could do that...they said I would need a lunch...so, if he's okay with the 2nd graders having three paras outside from 11:10 to 11:30, then we are all set! I think I 'm going to pinch myself!
WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *happy dancing*

On the way home from last night's soccer match, there was a gorgeous rainbow over the river flats. It was the widest rainbow I've ever seen! Reminded me of my Grandma.

I work full time, do all the cooking, cleaning, gardening, mowing, shopping...Ben does do his own laundry.
You wanna know something that really, really ticked me off while I was gone up north? Ben couldn't go with us because he said he couldn't get the time off work. I called him from up north Friday night and he told me that he ended up having Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Was that a last minute change? I hope so, for Ben's sake. {{{hugs}}}

Daughters are optional, fortunately.
Lorien, would you please email me again? I think I may have deleted it. And I'm ticked at Jay about something so I may come, regardless. *sticking tongue out*
My niece gave my in-laws a car. They are trying to arrange a way to get it back from SD. The original plans fell through. So, Jay is saying that, if they haven't figured something else out, he will fly out in October, on his vacation, and drive it back. Which means NO weekend away with his wife. Seriously, can I "grrr...." on that one? Please?

Hi Michelle! I am much better! Why can't your niece drive the car out and then fly home? Sorry, if I am being obtuse. What a hassle!

Four children under the age of 7. Biggest thing is that FIL is totally obsessing about it and MIL doesn't care how it inconveniences someone. She is truly obtuse. She called and asked if Jay and I wanted to do it. I said that the only way we could was to fly out and drive it back. We could only go on a weekend and there is no way we could drive straight out and then BOTH of us have to drive straight back. And flying out is over $300 each. Driving both ways, even with their $250 budget to get the car back, would cost us close to $800 because of meals and the fact that we would have to have a hotel on the way home.
She said, "you could spend a couple days with (BIL & SIL)." Um, mom, we both work. We can't just take days off at the drop of a hat. Oy...

Of course you might meet us and then decide we are all psycho and not want to come to the big mingle. Ha ha.
But we are the nicest possible kind of psycho, Lorien!

Absolutely! We had one possibly broken toe, one possibly broken foot, and one other injury during last night's game.

I've seen broken arms and legs, dislocated shoulders, torn ACLs, torn MCL, torn miniscus. Our family alone has torn miniscus, broken thumb, broken wrist, three concussions and a variety of contusions and abrasions. It is NOT a non-contact sport, contrary to popular belief.

Michelle, I'm sorry that you might not get your weekend away with Jay.
The only thing that bugs me is that he isn't even seeing it. He'll say, "We have to be careful and not spend too much." So we don't do A, B or C. But he's talking about flying to Rapid City ($306) and spending the money to drive back (because $250 will just cover the gas), just to do his parents a favor. I will actually tell him that before he commits to it so that I'm not mad at him but not telling him why. It just bugs me that he doesn't see it.
Seriously, I put up with a practically non-existent husband for 10 weeks of soccer season. That week off in October is supposed to include reconnecting time. And I'm just selfish enough to want that!

Big, heavy sigh. Maybe the car will get swept away by a tornado that takes only the car and damages nothing else... (((Hugs))). You are a really good DD/DIL. Bless MIL's heart.

Lorien, I don't know if you saw on the last thread, but Kelly (newdemo) was asking about the mini Mingle. Could you send her the info?
Yep, I PMed her.

Yeah, he tells me he doesn't care what I do, that my time is my time, but you can just tell he likes it better when I am around. Our son is not such a big issue anymore because he's 17 and we annoy him, but DH misses me.
Awww.... he loves you, Nikki! I know how he feels, as you can see from my rant about my hubby.

So what's this little tickle of info I see about a mini meeting in October? I have a daughter (okay, she's little, but I can probably hand her a pile of Twizzlers and a pop and occupy her for an hour or so!)... do I get the scoop?
Shoot! Hand ME a pile of twizzlers and a pop and *I* can keep her occupied! *grin*

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Oh, and I went to FB to check out Robin's card and got sidetracked and logged off without checking it out. Oy! I need a brain scan to see if I have one!
I'll try to remember to check again later!
