Maybe it is the subliminal message being sent by Kelly's adorable daughter in her avatar.

I was reading back to see when she started dating this guy. No mention of him until the last couple of posts. But in March she posted about her anniversary, and about how she is not remotely ready to start seeing anyone because she's still in love with her late husband. I don't know why it bothers me that she moved on so fast, but it does. It's weird, if I died I would want David to end up happy. But I guess I'd like to think that it wouldn't be that easy to get over me.

I'm sure you all could care less about half of the things I say. Ha Ha. But that doesn't seem to keep my fingers from typing.

Yeah, it is the moving on so fast after a death that bothers me and the kids calling someone else daddy already. Wow.

I actually get kick-back from the cupcake people for posting that picture... it's like sneaky marketing. Like the popcorn smell they pipe out at Disney.
Okay, I've been reading. Yeah, I really don't know that I would share all that, yeah, it sounds kinda quick and drastic, but at the same time, I kinda feel for her. (Maybe I'm missing a whole big back-story with y'all and her.) I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to lose a husband. In a way, I can understand wanting to find a sense of "normal" again. (Alright, sorry, it's the counselor in me again... empathizing!)

Maybe it is more common than I think. This is the second stamping chick that I have seen loose a husband and then less than a year later they are in love with someone else. I'm just not used to seeing that.

My dad died when we were little kids and my mom never even went on a date after that, in the entire 18 years until she died. I think that is going too far in the other direction.

So if Corey gets taken out by the falling satellite tonight, I fully expect to take a couple of years to get over it.

I cannot imagine even dating if something happened. And I don't want to be tested on that either.
And I don't want you to be tested! I just felt like after several years, my mom might have wanted to go out on a date just to have some fun. Maybe she just didn't want to, though. I will never know!

I don't think I would allow my kids to call someone else daddy.

My parents divorced when I was almost 6 (so 27 years ago), and it wasn't until right around the time I graduated high school that my mom finally started dating someone. That lasted a few years, and now she's been single for the last four or five years again. I know it's hard on her to be all alone - I'm also an only child, so a lot of that falls on me. But it's also hard to meet someone when all you do is go to work, go home, and spend time with your siblings occasionally.
Maybe I should ask Ms. Blogger her man-finding secrets to pass along, eh?

Yeah, I can't imagine how that feels for him. I have a stepson, whom I've known since he was 8 months old. I've been in his life for so long that he doesn't know any different, and he acts so much like me that sometimes people wonder if his mom had any influence! But he has always called me "Kelly," and I don't mind that. At first, I didn't want to be disrespectful (and I was so young, I just couldn't fathom being a mother anyway!), but along the way I decided that it didn't matter what he called me, I knew what I meant to him. I would never want to take the place of his mom, but I know I'm like a second mom to him. Now that my daughter has come along and calls me "Mommy," he slips up occasionally, but we just go with it. Granted, she also does her fair share of calling me "Kelly," so I guess it's even!

Oh Kelly, you are young! You can join Lorien and Yvonne as the young Minglers.
Man, I don't FEEL young anymore! I'm 32, turning 33 on October 23rd. Feels like it's all down hill from here! Granted, it doesn't help that my hubby is two years younger than me and I have a 10-year-old stepson. Between them and the munchkin, I think they add AT LEAST another 10 years on!

That cracks me up that your daughter calls you Kelly sometimes.
I think it's genetic... my mom said I went through the same thing when I was 2, and I called her "Sharon" for about 6 months.
It doesn't help that her first babysitter, when I started my internship for grad school, was named Kelly, as was her first daycare teacher when the babysitter went back to school in the fall. But she also calls her dad "Mark" on occasion, so I know I'm not too special!

It's raining here. Corey is on my case about the dishes. Only 6 more hours until he goes up north. He'll be back Sunday afternoon. At least I get a little break.
