Emma, I hope you get a nice visit in soon. You and Elaine are always in my sporadic but sincere prayers. We are having a garage sale next week and I am shocked by how much stuff we are putting out. I'm sure Terry's stuff is amazing but I dare not replace my cast offs with someone else's, no matter how wonderful. We have furniture, craft items, cookware, etc. BIL has less down the street and he's the reason we decided to go through things. Hubby caught me in an overwhelmed by my possessions mood so I'm parting with things I never thought I would. Nothing I will ever need again and someone else will enjoy them more than my basement will.
For the record, I think $500 to kill a rattlesnake is a bargain. It's all in your perspective. Just being in the same block would make me feel threatened. Don't miss the pit vipers at all. All common sense and morals go out the window when the developers can make a bunch of money. Not at all surprised at the toll road idea. Developers are on the same mental list as bankers, politicians, and top level executives. We can add maniacal despots to the same list, if that gives you a clue to my opinion. You don't want to be on that list if you want to go to Heaven.
Garden art is lovely, but Green Luminas are not. YAY for getting rid of it.
Yvonne, glad your Mom did well. Continued good wishes for a speedy, comfortable recovery.
Michelle, there IS a light at the end of that tunnel. God Bless your niece who is willing to take on THAT! She knows not what she is getting into. I hope it goes well for all.
Got my hair cut short, I like it. Decided to keep the gray and my hairdresser told me it's becoming more popular. I can go to the wedding and consider myself trendy. We had more sweets and carbs at work yesterday than usual. We probably could have supplied a small country. Back on track today.
The Clark kids are darling. I half expected to see Carter in a tutu.
That's what I remember. Safe travels to Lisa when she has to be on the roads. Hopefully the flood damage was minimal. I never did see the news last night.
In honor of my friend Patty's Mom and mine. "Be good and have fun. If it comes to a choice... BE GOOD.
I think the rain's finally headed out. At least for the next couple of days. My yard is saturated, I was walking around in my backyard with my sister last night and I had standing water. I won't be able to mow for a couple days.
Morning! I guess my first official day off...had to help my gem at the garage sale yesterday. I had L's double bed frame from IKEA with matching dresser - sold both of those! Sold another long dresser! Sold our weed whacker and some various nick knacks. So far, almost $250! Can't put them back in storage, as we got rid of our space, so I'm so happy they are gone! Can't believe the way people try and bargain, on the first day no less! Oh well. I've very happy! I hope Emma is cashing in big time!
Go, Em, go!!
Had to take Sophie in this morning to get her teeth cleaned. She's 10, so just having dental work now isn't so bad, I guess. We drugged her last night, just to see how she'd react to the medication. Her back end wasn't exactly going where her front end was! We drugged her again this morning (per the vet) and she was pretty mellow. I think it was Xanax for kitties. She fought me a bit getting in the carrier, but at least she didn't have an accident getting in to it this time. Minor scratches on me. Success!
Just mailed off an 8x8 scrapbook page for my niece, who is teaching preschool in China. My sister is putting together a "big hug from America," book for her. In putting that together, I realized how disorganized my space is!!
Yvonne, glad your Mom is okay.
Joycie, I hope your sister catches a bounty of fish!!
Debra, yeah for the extra car to be gone!! ;0) I love getting rid of things!
Em, so super duper sorry about Elaine. I can't express how much that utterly bites. Big, large, super squishy hugs. Love you!
It was absolutely beautiful out there this morning! Not too hot, not too humid. Glorious!

It's gorgeous here, too. Cool and sunny. I really wish my lawn wasn't waterlogged, it'd be a good day to mow. I might be able to get into one high area to weed. This weather makes me want to get out and go! Go somewhere fun. I don't know where.
Got the fan back together and it works! I feel so accomplished. I didn't wash the parts with soapy water or anything. Just a dry cloth. Made a huge difference. Next time I'll give a good soaking, now that I know what I'm doing.
